The moment they arrived, both Lu Jiang and Zhen Wen Yu stared at the house in front of them with a dazed expression.

Previously, they have heard that their daughter-in-law was a granddaughter of a reputable politician. It was not until they stood in front of the house did they realized that their son was going to marry a rich wife.

The couple exchanged a glance.

Zhen Wen Yu could not help worry that Song Xing Xing's parents were going to scold their son once they step into the house. She was close to believing that her son did not have a chance to fight for his wife.

Anyway, which sane parents would allow their daughter to marry a person who cannot protect her well?

The door swung open and an auntie came out to greet them.

Song Xing Xing led everyone into the house and soon, both Song Chen and Ye Ling Feng walked into the living area.

Zhen Wen Yu looked at her in-laws and to study their moods and saw that Song Xing Xing's father was not too happy.

Her mood plummeted, thinking that her son had ruined his chance because he had taken his action too late.

"Mom, Dad," Song Xing Xing walked over to her parents obediently.

Ye Ling Feng turned to Lu Xun's parents and smiled brightly. "You must be Lu Xun's parents. Hello. Hello. Welcome to our house. Please, have a seat."

Seeing that Song Xing Xing's mother's friendly act, Zhen Wen Yu began to see that there was a glimmer of light. Zhen Wen Yu was determined to get along with Song Xing Xing's mother to help her son.

Zhen Wen Yu saw that Mother Song was someone easier to talk to and decided to speak to her first. "Actually, both of us were supposed to come over next week. But after our daughter showed us what was going on on the internet, we decided to come over earlier."

Ye Ling Feng looked at her husband, wondering what was going on.

"If we knew about this earlier, we would have Lu Xun to settle this matter quickly," Zhen Wen Yu spoke. "This way, Xing Xing would not have to suffer so much. It was our son's fault that he could not protect Xing Xing properly." She turned to her son and shot him a piercing gaze.

Lu Jiang nudged at his son a few times, signaling him to ask for Song Xing Xing's parents' forgiveness. A deep frown appeared on his face when he saw that Lu Xun does not seem to understand his gesture.

If it was up to him, he really wanted to beat this son. He was already so old but still make trouble for his parents.

Hearing her words, Ye Ling Feng became speechless.

She had known earlier that it was her daughter's idea to drag this matter on for a while. Her plan was to make one big move to prevent the other party from coming with another trick.

But... how is it that it has become Lu Xun's fault?

Ye Ling Feng turned to her daughter and finally understood what was going on.

Song Chen shifted his gaze towards Lu's couple. He has been observing the Lu couple for a while and was satisfied to see their care for his daughter.

At least, he could be assured that his daughter would not have to suffer much when she was married into the family. As long as her in-laws treated her well, even her husband could not bully her that much right?

The elders began to exchange a few more words and Zhen Wen Yu continued to apologize for her son's incompetency.

An auntie walked over and announced that lunch was prepared.

Ye Ling Feng invited everyone to the dining room and promised that they could continue their conversation afterward.

Song Xing Xing followed her mother into the kitchen and peeked at the dishes that the cook had prepared. Seeing the prawn on the plate made her salivate.

"Lu Xun's mother really treated you well," Ye Ling Feng commented.

"Un. I told you earlier, but you guys were doubting me."

She stretched her hand to pinch at her daughter's cheek. "Alright. I know. Your dad and I were worried that you were only saying those words because you did not want us to worry."

Through her brief conversation with Lu's couple, Ye Ling Feng could see that they were good and honest people. Ye Ling Feng and her husband really appreciated that they came to explain Lu Xun's scandal.

Although they already knew that Lu Xun was not at fault, the Song couple could sense their good intention.

"Alright, stop coming into the kitchen and steal food," Ye Ling Feng spoke. "Go out and look at Lu Xun's mom. She would be uncomfortable to stay among those men."

Song Xing Xing stole a shrimp and nodded. "Un. I know."

Just as her daughter had turned around, Ye Ling Feng's eyes caught the reddened spot on her shoulder. Her clothes shifted and the spot was hidden again before she could take a closer look.

Ye Ling Feng was about to ask her daughter but changed her mind when another thought came over.

Thinking that she might have the chance to be a grandmother soon suddenly made her excited.
