You're My Only Star

A day before her mother's birthday, Song Xing Xing and Lu Xun took a flight to Y City. Lu Xun took a deep breath and tightened his grip on his suitcase as they headed out to the arrival hall.

This would be the first time that he would be meeting Song Xing Xing's parents after he had proposed. Thinking about meeting his father-in-law, Lu Xun suddenly became anxious.

Not too long ago, his father-in-law had called to ask him about his scandal. Although he had clarified this matter to the public, Lu Xun was still worried that his father-in-law would not be satisfied with how he had handled this matter.

What if his father-in-law decided to kick him out and won't let him stay at the house? Should he stay at the hotel instead?

As he was still thinking about what was going to happen, someone touched her cheek, snapping him out of his trance.

"What are you doing? Why are you in a trance?"

Lu Xun was in a daze as he saw the girl smiling brightly at him. It took him a few seconds to snap out of his trance. He flashed him a smile under the mask he was wearing and spoke, "Nothing. I was just thinking about meeting your relatives."

Song Xing Xing chuckled. "Didn't you say that you are ready to meet them? Why are you getting anxious now?"

He did not answer her but instead, stretched his arms to touch her hair.

Song Xing Xing smiled, deciding not to tease him anymore. "Come on. We should go now. Mom said that someone will be waiting for us outside."

The couple walked out of the airport and Song Xing Xing began to scan to look for the person who came to pick them up. Her gaze finally stopped upon noticing a familiar SUV. A tall man was standing outside the vehicle, glancing at his watch a few times with an anxious look on his face.

Song Xing Xing took Lu Xun's hand ad walked over to that man. "Cousin Brother!" Her tone was cheery.

Hearing her voice, Song Yi finally turned around and waved his hand at them.

"When did you get here?" Song Xing Xing asked as he approached closer.

"Yesterday. My mother was missing Xiao Jun and we decided to return earlier." Song Yi turned to Lu Xun and nodded as a form of greeting. "This morning, we went to your younger uncle's place to deliver something. Your dad asked me to come and pick you up. Come on. Get in the car."

Song Yi helped them to put their luggage in the cargo. Then, he slid into the driver's seat and drive over to the house.

Lu Xun was seated on the passenger's seat and was engaged in a conversation with Song Yi. As the two men were discussing a few matters about their business, Song Xing Xing took out her phone to browse through some portals to read some news about celebrities. What Song Xing Xing was interested to know was the casting rumors on dramas and movies.

An article suddenly popped up. Song Xing Xing was about to close the article when the photo caught her attention. She clicked on the article and frowned when she read the news.

Huo Yun Chen and his manager were spotted going to the hospital. It was said that he was injured during filming. However, no one knew what kind of injury he had or how bad it was.

Once his fans saw this news, they began to worry about their idol. Meanwhile, his haters continued to sprout some nonsense, creating rumors that would only stain his name.

Huo Yun Chen was injured?

After pondering about this matter for a while, Song Xing Xing decided to text Huo Yun Chen to check on him.

Song Xing Xing did not wait for him to reply. She lowered her phone as the car has finally arrived at her parents' place.

Someone came out of the house the moment Song Yi parked his car. Her eyes lit up as Song Xing Xing saw that Han Yue Xiu came out with Xiao Jun in her arms.

The moment the little boy saw his favorite aunt, he started to flail his arms around in excitement.

Han Yue Xiu laughed when she saw the look on her son's face. "Xiao Jun, are you excited to see your daddy or Auntie Xing Xing."

The baby glanced at his father before he turned to Song Xing Xing. His mouth curled into a wide smile, showing off his little front teeth. His hand stretched at him as if asking for her Aunt Xing Xing to carry him.

"Alright, your Auntie Xing Xing had just arrived. Let's go in first before you can ask her to play with you," Han Yue Xiu coaxed the baby.

Song Xing Xing touched the baby's cheek and could not help but kiss them a few times.

When Lu Xun saw this scene, his eyes narrowed a little bit. He quickly composed himself before anyone saw the look on his face.

After getting their luggage, Song Xing Xing led Lu Xun into the house. Fortunately, other than Song Yi and his little family, there were no other guests around. This way, they did not have to face the other family members.

Ye Ling Feng came out of the kitchen when she heard the noise coming from the living room area. Her eyes lit up the moment she saw her daughter.

Song Xing Xing walked over to her mother and hugged her tightly. "Mom, did you miss me?"

"You silly child." Ye Ling Feng pinched at her daughter's cheek. "Look at how you are behaving. Are you not embarrassed to stick closer to me in front of Lu Xun?"

Song Xing Xing glanced at her man and smiled. "Mom, he wouldn't mind."

Ye Ling Feng waved her hand to the auntie and asked her to help their guests bring up their luggage into their rooms.

Lu Xun heaved a sigh in relief as she watched the auntie take his bags upstairs. It seemed that he would not have to worry about finding a hotel to stay in. His mood suddenly turned better.

At this time, Song Chen came down the stairs. His eyes narrowed as his gaze met with Lu Xun's.

Seeing the man in front of him, Lu Xun subconsciously tightened his hand into a fist. He took a deep breath and greeted, "Uncle."

Song Chen nodded as a form of greetings. "You guys had just arrived. Go ahead and rest first. Later, come down, and let's have lunch together."

A breath of relief escaped him once Lu Xun realized that his father-in-law was not planning to kick him out.
