You're My Only Star

Following her wishes, Lu Xun let Song Xing Xing into his room before he sat down behind the desk to look at the laptop screen. However, knowing that there was someone else in his room, Lu Xun found that he was unable to concentrate on his work.

Most of the time, he would raise his head to look at the person who was sitting on the sofa, seemingly minding her business.

After a while, Lu Xun finally gave up looking at his laptop. He stood up and walked over to his girlfriend.

"Don't you have to work?"

Seeing the way the girl was blinking her eyes innocently at him, Lu Xun could not help but to pinch her on the cheek. "How can I look at the documents when you're here?"

"Should I leave then?"

The more he looked at her, the more he thought that his girlfriend and her cat resembled each other. Each time that Mr. Fluffball wanted his attention, he would look at him the same way.

"Anyway, I brought you here to spend my time with you. The documents can wait. Bei Yuan can handle everything during my absence."

Song Xing Xing could almost imagine the look on Bei Yuan's face when he saw the piling documents in front of him.

After interacting with Lu Xun's assistant a few times, Song Xing Xing thought that this man was capable and interesting. She could understand why did Lu Xun had decided to hire him as his assistant despite his lack of experience.

"If you don't want to go and join your brother, how about we just walk around this place?"

"Alright." Song Xing Xing linked her arms around his neck.

Lu Xun chuckled, "What are you doing?"

His girlfriend had agreed a few seconds ago to walk around the place but now, she was hugging him as if preventing him from moving around.

However, Lu Xun found that he really liked the way Song Xing Xing look at him. Each time that he looked into his eyes, it was as if there were stars in them. It made his heart warm.

Their forehead rested on each other and their breath mingled. Lu Xun swallowed, as his throat felt a little dry.

The seconds before their lips were about to meet would always feel exciting to him. However, Song Xing Xing continued to stay still... She was not moving forward or retreating. This situation was slowly making him grow anxious.

Just as he was wondering what was she going to do next, Song Xing Xing had already stood up.

Song Xing Xing stretched her hand at him and tilted her head at him. "Didn't you say that we should go out for a walk?"

Lu Xun raised a brow at her. He did not think that she would pull away and suggested that they should be going for a walk?

This girl definitely came to his side to tease him. She made him anticipate the kiss but in the end, she had retreated, leaving him disappointed. What a naughty girl.

With a sigh, Lu Xun stood up and walked over to the door where his girlfriend was waiting for him. The mischievous smile on her face gave him the urge to punish her.

As if she was able to guess at what was going in his mind, Song Xing Xing quickly made her escape, running a certain distance for him.

Once he caught up with her, the two were engaged in a brief tickling war. Seeing that the girl had raised her hand in surrender, Lu Xun was finally satisfied.

Holding her hand, Lu Xun took her around the lake area for a walk.

Time seemed to fly quickly. As the couple made their way back to the residence, they ran into Song Wei and Log Fei who had just come back from their fishing trip.

Song Xing Xing peered into the bucket that Song Wei was carrying and laughed when she could not see any fish.

"Didn't you say that you're going to catch a fish or two? Where is it? Can we still eat something for dinner?"

Song Wei narrowed his eyes and chose to keep quiet. He was a little disappointed that he did not manage to catch anything but Song Wei was not unhappy as he get to spend more time talking with Long Fei and asked him a lot of questions.

The past few days, Song Wei could tell that he has gotten closer to Long Fei.

Of course, with the way he reacted, Song Xing Xing could already guess that her brother had failed to catch anything.

"Miss Song, you don't have to worry. Since you are our guest, of course, we will not let you go hungry." Long Fei raised the bucket in his hand.

From the splashing sounds that came from the bucket, Song Xing Xing was able to guess that Long Fei had caught a few fish. She followed Lu Xun to peek into the bucket and was surprised to see a few fat fishes.

"My cousin is carrying another bucket of fish to the barbecue spot. I can assure you that you won't return to your room hungry."

Lu Xun saw the shocked expression on his girlfriend's face and smiled. "Long Fei is always lucky. No one dared to compete with him when it comes to fishing or swimming. I don't know who was it that started to say it... But with his skills in the water, Long Fei was dubbed as the merman of our university."

Long Fei sneered when he heard his friend's words. "Merman? Don't regard me the same as that creature."

His face turned dark and Long Fei walked away with the bucket of fishes in his hand. No one understood why he suddenly turned unhappy.

"Let's go back first," Lu Xun said to his girlfriend. "When dinner is ready, I will call you over."

"Oh." Song Xing Xing naturally had no objection.

Lu Xun sent Song Xing Xing back to her door and grabbed her arms just before she was about to go in. He watched her looking back at him with a puzzled look on her face and spoke, "Song Xing Xing."

"En?"

"Dress up prettily." His lips curled into a faint smile but no one noticed how his hand was balled into a fist.

"Don't I always dress up prettily?"

His hand loosened as he heaved a long breath. "You're right.." Lu Xun leaned over and pecked at her forehead before she could notice his tense. "I'll come over and pick you up in an hour, alright?"
