You're My Only Star

As Song Chen arrived home, he was surprised to hear from his wife that their daughter and her boyfriend were at home.

Hearing that his wife had invited Lu Xun to stay a night at their house, Song Chen looked at his wife in dissatisfaction.

It was not as if she was unaware that he did not like that man. Why would she invite that person to stay at their home?

Ye Ling Feng heaved a long breath when she saw the look on her husband's face. "Even if you're unhappy, you cannot show it on your face. Song Chen, he's our guest."

Song Chen pursed his lips into a thin line. Although he was not too happy with his wife's words, he knew that he could not say anything to refute her words. If he made his wife unhappy, he might have to sleep in the study.

"Wife, that boy is after our daughter. Shouldn't we be more cautious around him? Why do I feel as if you're making everything easier for him?"

Ye Ling Feng instructed the auntie to send a few dishes to the table. "I like him. He's a good person."

Song Chen looked at his wife in surprise. "You like him? When did you get close to him?"

"That boy often text me and asked about my well-being. He's a considerate person. Why wouldn't I like him?"

Moreover, if it was not because for Lu Xun, would she be able to see their daughter so soon? Ye Ling Feng understood her daughter well. She had not even said anything bout coming to B City. It should be Lu Xun who suggested stopping by and visiting them.

Her daughter's boyfriend would often think of her family. How can she not like Lu Xun? Ye Ling Feng thought that if Lu Xun became their son-in-law, she would not reject it. But of course, these were not the words that she should say to her husband.

Song Chen's face turned darker. Why didn't he know that the boy would often text his wife?

It seemed that this Lu Xun is quite scheming. He knew that his wife is a soft-hearted person. Therefore, he had long planned to target his wife and try to win her approval!

"Song Chen, I'm warning you. If you say anything that would make anyone unhappy, you are definitely sleeping in the study tonight."

Song Chen was startled as he was not expecting his wife would threaten him with sleeping in his study. Why would she protect that boy?

"Un. I know." Song Chen looked at his wife unwillingly.

Last time, it was his nephew, Song Yi who had warned him to be nice to Lu Xun. This time, it was his wife.

Everyone seemed to take Lu Xun's side and this was making Song Chen unhappy.

Ye Ling Feng heaved a sigh. "Your father called a while ago. He heard that Lu Xun is staying over and had invited everyone to the main house and have dinner together."

At the mention of his parents, Song Chen knew right away that he will have to behave well. He would only be in deep trouble if he made his father unhappy.

The couple turned around when they heard the sound of footsteps heading towards them. Turning around, Song Chen put on a bright smile on his face when he saw his daughter walking down the stairs.

His expression changed again when he saw his daughter reddened face.

Just now, his wife had told him that Song Xing Xing was showing Lu Xun around the guest room. Now that she had come down with her face reddened like this, it was not hard for him to guess what was going on.

That person… What did he do to his daughter in his house?

"Dad!"

Hearing the bright smile on his daughter's face, Song Chen quickly gathered his thought and put on the best smile on his face.

"Xing Xing, you're here. When did you arrive? You should have told me that you're coming to visit us."

Song Xing Xing spread her arms and hugged her father. "It was a last-minute decision. Dad, I miss you."

Song Chen clicked his tongue, pretending that he was mad at her. "If you miss me, you should come over to see us more often."

Song Xing Xing smiled sheepishly to her father. "Dad, I heard that you went to play golf with your friends. Did you have fun?" Song Xing Xing quickly changed the subject.

"Alright, the dishes are already done." Ye Ling Feng spoke. "Go ahead and call Lu Xun to eat." As she walked to the dining area with a plate of dishes, Ye Ling Feng did not forget to send her husband a warning look.

Song Xing Xing pursed her lips into a thin line. She had just made her escape from Lu Xun before she went to find her mother. Now, they wanted her to return to his side.

She could almost imagine how Lu Xun would tease her. 

However, Song Xing Xing could not say no to her mother. If they asked the reason, she would not know how to explain.

There was no way that she could tell her parents that she was too shy to see Lu Xun after she had mentioned growing old with him.

"Why are you still around?" Ye Ling Feng looked at her daughter. "Go ahead and call Lu Xun."

Song Xing Xing could only turn around and headed upstairs to call her boyfriend.

Once their daughter had disappeared from their gaze, Ye Ling Feng shot another look at her husband. "Don't forget what I have told you earlier."

"I know." Song Chen grunted. "Isn't it only having a meal together? Why do you have to be so strict?"

"Behave."

Song Chen walked out of the kitchen and headed out.

"Where are you going?" Ye Ling Feng asked when she noticed that her husband was not heading towards the dining area.

"I'm going to change my clothes first, alright?" With that, he turned around and headed back to his room. Since he could not escape and had to meet Lu Xun anyway, he better dressed up and look his best. That way, the boy will be intimidated by him.

When Song Chen came down again, everyone was already waiting for him at the dining table.

Lu Xun stood up and greeted him. "Uncle."

Song Chen narrowed his eyes but quickly received his wife's warning gaze. In the end, he could only be obedient. "Un." He nodded and motioned towards the seat. "Just have a seat first. Let's have a meal first."

The auntie came and served them some food.

As they began to eat their meal, Song Chen did not forget to steal a few glances at his daughter and the boyfriend.

He did not know what had happened but from the look of it, it seemed that something had changed in their relationship. The two of them seemed closer than the last time he saw them together.

Song Chen continued to look at Lu Xun with a complicated look in his eyes.
