Chapter 254 Thunder Knight (2)
Jake frowned when he got to his new class. While he was expecting it, he didn't think that it would be something like that… a combination of magician and warrior. The skill granted by the class was also very useful, but it was a spell…
"Why is it so hard for me to get over this kind of stuff?" Jake wondered and then sighed.
Jake planned to use the armor, but then he realized that Magnus was at the top of his head. He didn't know how the skill would work, so it was better to put him away for a moment. Once he did it, he saw mana around his body turning into something like chains of electricity that covered his torso. It looked pretty impressive, if anything…
"It seems that you will be fine at the top of my head," Jake said.
Jake managed to pull it off against the ordinary monsters, but could he fight the boss while he left Magnus there? As long as he doesn't Flash often, he won't have to use much mana. However, against one enemy, he won't recover much mana, so Mana Shield might run out of fuel… it would be better to make him sit this one out.
While Jake was heading to the last room of the dungeon, he kept Thunder Armor activated as much as possible since he wanted the bonus in parameters the skills could give. If he doesn't use many skills, he will be able to keep the spell active all the time, but during the boss battle, he will have to rely on the combination of the dark flames and his sword… That didn't seem to bother him all that much anymore. Maybe it was because his back still was hurting a little that to all the fire and poison attacks that got him. The dark flames were powerful, but they never would grant him an automatic win. Besides, it was something that he only had, and deep down, he felt like he deserved it for some reason.
In any case, it didn't take long for Jake to reach the final room of the dungeon. It was pretty much a single downward path, after all. Still, he had to go for twenty minutes, and that made him realize that the last room would be sturdily large as well, and enough to make a powerful dungeon boss rampage without a care.

"Wait, what… why the fuck is that thing almost two times stronger than the giant crystal wolf?" Jake asked while frowning. "This power scaling makes no sense."
The level of the monsters outside wasn't that high, and that was another weird thing. At least that would explain how come the boss was so powerful, it would be because of dungeon breaks. Still, if that weren't the case, then what would the cause be? Usually, Jake would think that the boss hunted some monsters or humans. Still, monsters shouldn't enter the dungeon while humans are trying to clear it…
"This is odd…" Jake rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
The monster, in terms of parameters alone, was two times stronger and faster than Jake, adding to the fact that the creature had dozens of times more health, mana, and stamina. It seemed like madness to face the beast… but Jake liked that kind of thing. The boss also had two weapons a green crossbow attached to its waist and a spear on fire on its back. Jake wanted both of them.
"Those weapons are a lot more powerful than the ones used by the minions, so I can't afford to be hit by them," Jake said. "You will stay here, Magnus. Don't try anything funny because I prefer to win my battles solo."
Jake equipped his new sword and put his shield on his back. That would decrease his mobility a bit, but he was already slower than the monster by a large margin, so he might as well improve his defense instead of trying to cover that weakness.
Once Jake approached, the beast began to hiss while it was grabbing its flaming spear. All of a sudden, the monster charged toward Jake and despite the fact that the creature didn't have legs. Jake could barely see the beast moving.
Jake could barely see the spear, but he still swung his weapon down in front of himself. In the next moment, his weapon was blocked by the spear of the boss. As usual, his instincts didn't let him down… that being said, the monster didn't have a hard time blocking. Just by moving onward a bit, the beast managed to push Jake backward.
Even with his buffs, Jake couldn't get even close to the monster in terms of raw power. So, when the beast used just a bit more of strength, he was pushed backward for several meters. In the next moment, Jake saw the spear almost piercing his head. He moved it to the side and dodged… However, the blast of the attack burned the air in the entire area of its path and also burned Jake's left side a little bit.
The best kept attacking like that, using supersonic thrusts that Jake could barely see while they were aimed at his head. When he got tired and blocked it with his sword, the impact caused a large explosion that pushed him down for twenty meters…
