Chapter 155 Ice Dragon (2)
While Caelis was enduring the attacks, Aion recalled everything he thought about improving Inner Force in an efficient way. His first improvement wasn't perfect, and since the system didn't recognize the technique, he had to think a lot about how to do that… his first idea came when he realized the weakness of his version. It was inefficient. So, he thought of training his body to make it possible to use all of the energy properly.
His second idea came in the last few hours when he fought the old man martial artist, he had full control over his body, and he obtained that with constant training, but more importantly, his bracers could store energy, and that was what he thought that he should do: accumulating the energy to use Inner Force beforehand instead of using what he had and making his body tired faster.
He had an idea on how to do that, but he wasn't so sure if it could work… and it would be rather dangerous to try to do that in the middle of a fight…. In any case, Aion tried. Instead of letting the energy burn inside him, Aion made it all emerge from all over his body. It was hard to control his health like that. It was essentially damaging himself from the inside out… Still, Aion emitted a red aura that represented his health, then a blue representing his mana, and then a green representing his stamina.
Aion felt the power inside him growing, but then he realized that he messed up… he was using the energy instead of storing it… he started with the final step of the technique that he had envisioned. Still, it was too late for that. At full power, Aion could use Inner Release for five minutes, but since he was tired, wounded, and low on mana, he could only keep it for one minute, and now that he improved the consumption speed to increase performance, he only had twenty seconds…
The ice dragon frowned when the attacks from the sides suddenly stopped, and the creature felt that Caelis had disappeared. Something was off… and the creature confirmed that when it felt a powerful blast on its chin that made itself be pushed backward. The brain of the dragon shook as the monster felt the scales on his face cracking, but then the creature recovered and saw Aion right in front of itself with a hammer and ready to strike again.
The ice dragon used its cold aura to stop him, but it didn't change anything, Aion attacked again, and this time, the side of the monster's face, and the beast fell, its neck almost cracking… that sudden increase of power didn't make any sense for a human. Still, Aion approached again and landed on the top of the monster's head…
That was a terrible place to get hit, and the monster knew that… Before Aion could swing its weapon, the scales of the beast began to swine, and then the temperature around the beast decreased even more. Aion swung his hammer anyway, even while his legs were being covered by ice.
The impact shattered all the ice around, even on Aion's legs, and while the monster flinched, it wasn't enough to kill it. In fact, Aion barely heard the sound of bones cracking… the ice nullified all the damage…
"This thing has a secret buff too… as expected of a dragon," Aion thought and then jumped away when he saw some ice arrows appearing around him.
With that buff, Aion increased all of his parameters by three times, but his Resistance in the warrior class wasn't high to begin with, so he felt his whole body getting numb due to the cold. He will have to finish things in the last attack, or he will be in a tight spot.
The dragon turned around and then fired more ice arrows. Even in the air, Aion blocked them by swinging his hammer, but they were also pushing him away from the ice dragon. While clenching his teeth, Aion flew toward the enemy and used all of his remaining energy on a single strike… However, Aion saw the creature opening its mouth, and then the temperature decreased even more.
"Shit…" Aion thought.
In the end, Aion thought that he truly deserved to die… Only a moron would forget about a dragon's breath while fighting one. The only regret that he had was that he didn't let his mother in a safe place before dying… All that travel had been for naught…
Aion felt like the time had stopped while he waited for the monster to attack. Unfortunately, he couldn't move faster and make use of that slow flow of time… Fortunately for Aion, the creature never attacked… A powerful lightning bolt coming from the ground hit the beast and passed through it. The monster was paralyzed… Considering its body, electric attacks were at least five times more effective… that was good to know..
Aion ignored that and charged at the enemy and used all of the strength of the monster to attack the head of the creature with his hammer. The impact on the head of the monster passed through the whole body, creating a shockwave that made all of the bones tremble and crack. Naturally, the brain suffered too much damage, and the beast began to fall… the battle was over, finally. Even though it didn't last long, Aion felt that the intensity messed with his notion of time.

Aion sighed in relief after the notifications… to the point that he relaxed his whole body and began to fall as well. Unfortunately, he didn't have any mana left, so that fall surely will hurt… still, that was just a minor problem considering the thing that he had just defeated. It wouldn't be a problem, barely a inconveninece.
