Chapter 154 Ice Dragon
When Aion left the temple, he cooled his head a bit and confirmed that his mother was all right. She probably didn't wake up in those two weeks, but she was being fed and given water. Still, very sporadically since she got thinner. She needed a real place to rest and to be given food, but then Aion realized the problem of the matter.
"If I leave the dragon alone and the creature manages to escape, we will be blamed for all of its destruction caused," Aion thought. "We don't need our reputation to get any worse, after all. I will have to deal with this thing right here and right now. Let's hope that I won't be regretting this..."
The tremors were getting stronger, and it was a sign that the monster was approaching. Still, he summoned the iron fists after changing his class and then created a bed using his magic power and some of the things he had in his inventory and made the guy go toward the entrance of the barrier while carrying her.
Aion wanted to turn the old man martial artist and the earth mage into death knights as well, but he didn't have mana. He would need a couple of seconds for that, and before it could happen, he just had the chance to summon Caellis, Lerg, and Urgen… the temple began to freeze, and then the ice dragon emerged from it.
"If only I could tame…" Aion said.
Even if the skill and class reached level one hundred and Aion used all of the improvement points on Tame, the chances of that working were pretty small. The difference in power was that big…
Aion made the death knights split around, and the dragon looked at them and then saw Aion jumping to the other side of the mountain, and the creature followed him since he looked more delicious. While he was falling, the dragon began to fly toward him while summoning Ice Spears. Actually, they had the shape of arrows, but they were ten meters long.
They flew around while making super annoying noises while breaking the sound barrier. Aion managed to dodge them while flying, but at that rate, he won't recover any mana to do much aside from that. And yet, he didn't have any other option. The giant Ice Arrows hit the ground and opened one hundred meters long craters… a single hit and Aion will be done for.
Aion had another risky plan when he landed on the base of the mountain. In the end, he just turned around and waited for the dragon's attack. The creature fired three ice arrows from different directions to hit the same spot and made the impact even louder. Still, so much dust emerged from the ground that the beast lost sight of Aion for a second… the monster slowly approached until a massive boulder flew toward its head.
The monster blocked the attack by using its left wing as a shield and was only pushed backward for a few dozen meters, but then Aion emerged from the back of the boulder. His body was filled with wounds due to the debris of the previous attack. Still, he jumped toward the dragon's back, and before the beast could do anything, he landed there and then resummoned Caelis.
Aion tossed toward him his red spear, and then when he grabbed it, Caelis enveloped it with his dark shadow and then began to stab the ice dragon. Although it scales hard like steel, eventually, Aion saw some cracks appearing in it.
Unfortunately, the air around them began to get colder, and the body of the dragon began to freeze… using some of his mana, Aion made some hand cover Caelis' legs and then glued him on the back of the monster before Aion jumped away.
The legs of the death knight were covered in ice, but he kept stabbing the enemy, and Aion managed to slip away. However, the damage Caelis was suffering was affecting Aion's mana pool.
"Let's recover some mana while the monster forgets about me," Aion thought and then gave the order for his other death knights to attack.
The ice dragon tried to summon ice arrows and then fire at Caelis, but then the creature's face was suddenly hit by several arrows. Only three of fifteen Pierced the face of the monster a little, but the wounds were bleeding, and the monster looked pissed.
Soon after, several wind blades targeted the other side of the monster's face. Only some scratches appeared there, though… The distance between them and the target was too high, so it was only natural that their attacks would lose power. Even so, it was hard to imagine them winning at close range, and a single shot would be enough to crush them.
"Where in the hell did that thing come from?" Aion wondered when he landed. "Not a single mention of dragons being found in the last one thousand years…"
With that kind of power, it was surprising that they weren't ruling the world. It was even more surprising that they probably decreased in numbers with that kind of power. Aion heard that they could live for at least five hundred years, so it wasn't a matter of longevity… they disappeared for some other reason…
While Aion was recovering some of his mana. The ice dragon decided to get rid of Caelis first and ignored the long-ranged attacks to summon several ice arrows and fired them at him. Caelis used his shadow to increase his defense, and he withstood the first few attacks, but Aion knew that it was only a matter of time before the shadow thins out… he had to do something before that happened…
Aion considered what he could do… he could stall for time by letting his mana repair Caelis again and again, but that wouldn't be the best way for him to learn something out of that fight… however, Aion recalled that…
