Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!

Chapter 103: | 103 | War For Liberation Part 22: Battle of Servusarator(III)

Beside the white-haired dragoness standing at the entrance of the meeting room were two dark-suited soldiers armed with SA-58 assault rifles. They swiftly pointed their barrels at the knights and fired without hesitation or delay.

*BRRrrrrrtttt!* *BRRRRrrrrrtttt!*

In mere moments, a barrier formed between the knights and the dark-suited soldiers. This protected the knights from ill-fated deaths, causing relief to swallow their shoulders.

Unfortunately, however... The rifles held by the soldiers weren't to be underestimated.

*BBBRRRRRRTTTTT!*

The dark-suited soldiers kept firing at the barrier with no intention to stop. Their assault rifles were equipped with drum magazines, giving them a greater amount of ammunition they could pour out from their arsenal.

The runic barrier created by the runes of the war master glowed in brilliance. The war master noticed that it was about to break and shouted at the captain. "Get down!"

Hearing the words of the war master, the captain got down to the floor and immediately hid behind surrounding desks in the meeting room. At that moment, the runic barrier cracked and the lead hail of bullets went through.

The meeting room was devastated as everything above the waist height was gunned down. The knights who were relieved, met an unfortunate fate of having their bodies be filled with bullet holes.

Only two of the people inside the meeting room survived. The war master and the captain of the expansionary battleship of Principatus Humanum.

The war master glanced at the corpses left behind by the attack of the dark-suited soldiers. The frozen and horrified expression of the guard especially struck him with deep-seated terror.

He was already aware of the capabilities and power of the United Navy. But to be directly affected made him realize how devastating they really were.

If they continued their foolish thoughts of holding out against a siege of the United Navy, all of them would have been massacred and left for dead on the streets of Servusarator.

With this in mind, the somewhat terrified war master reached a sensible conclusion.

They never stood a chance.

There was no use in fighting against them.

It seems that he finally understood the feelings and thoughts of the governor. Perhaps, the governor understood the devastation the United Navy was capable of, or he merely wanted to save his own skin.

Though... Regardless of what the governor thought. It didn't matter to the war master as he planned to do the same.

"That's how you cut off the head of the snake." Laplace softly muttered with a smile on her face as she looked at the destruction before her. The round table was filled with bullet holes while the floor was littered with corpses.

But before she could continue thinking about the obliteration of the meeting room, a figure stood up in the middle of the mess.

To be honest, she thought that he would try pretending dead in order to live. However, it looks like he has another idea in mind.

"We surrender, Dragoness Laplace." The war master raised his hands while gazing at the dragoness with determined eyes. They needed to surrender to avoid a massacre from taking place inside the town of Servusarator.

Laplace raised an eyebrow, surprised by the surrender of the war master. The edges of her lips rose as she questioned the surrendering man. "What makes you think that we will accept a surrender?"

The war master furrowed his eyebrows after hearing such words. Surrendering only works if their adversaries want them to surrender. But he was confident that the United Navy wanted them to surrender.

Otherwise, the United Navy would have pummeled the town into rubble.

A victory won without pulling a trigger was the greatest victory one could ever have gotten.

A saying of the elves, perhaps the United Navy acts with the same principles.

"Lady Laplace, the code of war requires us to accept surrendering enemies. We can't kill a surrendering enemy as it would be considered a war crime." Behind the dragoness, Mercedes stepped forward and uttered to her lieutenant.

Laplace glanced at Mercedes, understanding her reason. She then looked at the war master as though she had lost her prey and sighed.

"You have a point. I don't want my date with Abraham to be delayed or interrupted because of some war crime." She didn't want to bother with the intricacies of the United Navy.

And she wasn't against it, let the United Navy have a useful prisoner of war. With the knowledge that the war master had in magicraft, he might be able to help the navy in its advancements in the line of magicraft.

"But what about your captain, War Master?" Laplace squinted her eyes as if she would behead the war master the moment he decided to act rashly.

Sensing the agreement to their surrender, the war master glanced at the desks where the captain hid and called out. "Captain, let us surrender to the United Navy."

"We need to stop this futile battle."

For a moment, no one responded. But after a couple of seconds, the captain got out of his hiding place and raised his hand like the war master. He looked at the Special Response Unit and lowered his head after sensing the gaze of the dragoness.

"I surrender."

With that, the leadership of the local garrison fell. The barracks were burning asunder while the guards of the local garrison were in chaos. The chain of command fell, so it was hard for the guards to maintain their calm.

Mercedes took out a radio from her pocket and called for the Marine Vanguard Forces. The hissing of the radio echoed before a voice escaped its confines.

*Report?*

"Mission Success... The head of the snake has been cut off. Begin the forward phase and start the siege." Mercedes calmly reported and ensued for the next and final phase of the operation to begin.

*Affirmative, the Marine Vanguard Forces will be heading out.*

After the confirmation from the other side, Mercedes closed the radio and turned her attention to the window. The sceneries of the town of Servusarator were seen. Hundreds of medieval buildings housing people, scattered like trees in a forest, it was quite a sight.

Entirely different from the Port of Dawn.

Meanwhile, in the skies above the town of Servusarator…

Various helicopters flew inside the town, hovering above important and strategic locations scattered throughout the colonial settlement. From the helicopters were Marines dropping in and taking over their designated landing point.

The local garrison guards could only look up and see several giant metallic birds transporting their enemies into critical infrastructure. And there was nothing they could do about it.

The defenders of the town of Servusarator were already embroiled in chaos due to the fall of the leadership and the barracks they resided in. So, their defensive capabilities were far from their complete potential.

As the Marines took over the strategic targets of the town such as the port, front gates, towers, and walls in masse, the ground forces also rolled in from the opened iron gates of the town.

Tanks, a dozen of armored vehicles, and hundreds of Marines rolled in. The guards had no chance and were promptly killed. Some surrendered upon seeing that there was no chance while others ran for their lives and deserted their posts.

The civilians hid themselves deep inside their homes while tanks and armored vehicles rumbled in the outside. The Marines would kick open the door and check the interior of various buildings whether they contained deserters or not.

If there were, the deserters would be dragged out. If not, the civilians would be left alone as the Marines continue on their way.

A number of guards wanted to fight against the Marines but were immediately dealt with by the helicopters scouting the heavens for any leftovers from the local garrison.

Everything practically felt, and none of the colonists could mount a tinge of resistance against the Marine Vanguard Forces.

Not only that but the port of Servusarator was also captured. The expansionary battleship was set ablaze by its crew and scuttled so as to not let their adversaries steal it from them. The crew also fought against the Marines but were utterly defeated.

By the end of the battle inside the port of Servusarator, only a third of the crew remained.

And so, the conclusion was pretty clear.

The town of Servusarator had fallen into the hands of the United Navy and its defenders were defeated. The remaining guards of the local garrison were gathered together in the main square while civilians were advised to stay in the confines of their homes.

It didn't take long for the Marine Vanguard Forces to take over the town of Servusarator. After conquering its key points and strategic locations, the town was practically under their control.

The war master and the captain were dragged away from the barracks by the Special Response Unit. As they observed the streets, they realized that the town wasn't in utter devastation as there was no heavy resistance from the guards.

But it completely regressed from its former glory.

The streets were empty of people while Marines monitored and patrolled the streets.

The war master was shocked as he couldn't believe that all of this had happened in half an hour.

The efficiency of the United Navy wasn't to be underestimated. However, it might also be because of the chaotic local garrison which couldn't perform any defensive measures against the invading enemies.

"It shouldn't be much of a surprise." The war master could hear the voice of the captain behind him. He turned his eyes towards the captain, who continued. "There was no defense, so they practically pierced through like hot knight through butter."

And his words didn't end there.

"Perhaps, even if we made some effort in our defensive measures"

"We still wouldn't stand a chance."
