MY SUGAR MUMMY IS A BEAUTIFUL VAMPIRE

Chapter 251: Rose's knights battle

From the depths of the dense foliage, a pair of crimson eyes glinted in the moonlight, their intense glow betraying the presence of an unseen observer. Drake, concealed within the shadows of the towering trees, watched intently as Reggie and his companions hurried away, oblivious to his scrutiny.

With silent grace, Drake leaped down from his perch, his movements swift and calculated. As he landed gracefully on the forest floor, he cast a glance in the direction opposite to that taken by Reggie and the others.

His mission clear, Drake wasted no time in pursuit, his mind already plotting his next move. With Elena's orders echoing in his mind, he vanished into the shadows, his vampiric abilities masking his presence as he set off on his clandestine mission.

Unbeknownst to Reggie and his companions, they had unwittingly caught the attention of a far more sinister adversary, one whose dark intentions threatened to disrupt their plans at every turn.

Drake ascended the hill with swift determination, the urgency of his mission propelling him forward. At the summit, Elena stood, her presence commanding as she gazed out over the darkened landscape.

"My lady," Drake greeted respectfully, his voice carrying a hint of unease as he approached. He could sense the volatile energy emanating from Elena, a stark departure from her usual composed demeanor.

Elena turned to face him, her arms crossed over her chest as she regarded him with a piercing gaze. "I requested the villager girl," she stated, her voice tight with impatience. "Where is she?"

Drake hesitated, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his features. "She... she escaped," he admitted reluctantly, taking a step back under Elena's intense scrutiny. "But I tracked her down."

Elena's expression darkened at the news of the girl's escape. "And what issues did you encounter in apprehending a mere human girl?" she demanded, her voice laced with thinly veiled frustration.

Drake swallowed hard, feeling the weight of Elena's disappointment bearing down on him. "She was not alone," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper. "She was with three other vampires."

Elena's eyes narrowed at the revelation, her jaw clenching with barely contained anger. "Do you know these vampires?" she demanded, her tone sharp with accusation.

Drake nodded, his gaze unwavering. "They are your sister's knights," he replied, his voice steady despite the tension thickening the air between them. "Rose's knights are on the island."

Elena's fury surged at the mention of her sister's involvement, a low growl rumbling in the depths of her throat. She had suspected the presence of others like her on the island just an hour ago and now Drake was confirming it. Her mind immediately swung towards Blake. If her sister's knights were on the island, they were here for Blake.

Without another word, she dismissed Drake with a curt command, ordering him to return to the condo and ensure that Blake remained concealed from their newfound adversaries.

As Drake turned to leave, a sense of dread settled in the pit of his stomach. How would he break the news to Elena that their carefully laid plans were unraveling, and Blake's memories had resurfaced, threatening to disrupt everything they had worked so tirelessly to achieve?

Drake halted in his tracks, a wave of apprehension washing over him as he realized the gravity of his next words. With a heavy sigh, he turned back to face Elena, steeling himself for her inevitable reaction.

"I must confess, my lady," Drake began, his voice tinged with resignation, "Blake is also with them."

Elena's eyes narrowed at the revelation, her expression darkening with a mixture of anger and frustration. "What?! How is that possible??" she echoed, her voice laced with incredulity. "How is it that he still eludes me?! I knew something wasn't right about him since the early hours of yesterday when that Tessa girl arrived,"

Drake hesitated, unsure of how to proceed. "It seems he has regained his memories," he admitted reluctantly. "He is on the verge of leaving the island."

Elena's jaw clenched at the news, her features contorted in a mixture of rage and disbelief. "This changes everything," she muttered darkly, her mind racing with the implications of Blake's sudden reappearance.

Drake shifted uncomfortably under Elena's intense gaze, bracing himself for her inevitable wrath. He knew that their carefully constructed plans had been thrown into disarray, and he could only hope that Elena would find a way to salvage their mission despite this unexpected setback.

Elena's eyes flashed with a mixture of frustration and determination as she processed Drake's revelation. With a swift motion, she turned to face him, her gaze piercing.

"Take me to them," she commanded, her voice cold and authoritative. "I must see this for myself."

Drake hesitated for a moment, weighing his options before responding carefully. "My lady, the girl was injured," he explained, his tone cautious. "I followed the scent of her blood to track them down."

Elena's expression softened slightly at the explanation, though her resolve remained unwavering. "Very well," she conceded, her voice tinged with impatience. "Lead the way. We mustn't let them slip through our fingers."

****************************

The night air was tense as Gunther and Randal hurriedly prepared the boat for departure, their movements swift and determined. Meanwhile, Reggie and Blake stood apart from the others, engaged in a heated exchange.

"What in the world are you thinking, Blake?" Reggie demanded, his voice tinged with frustration. "We're on a tight schedule here, and you want to go off gallivanting to save some supposed friend?"

Blake bristled at Reggie's accusation, his expression determined. "Tessa's not just some friend," he retorted, his tone firm. "She helped me when I had nowhere else to turn. I owe her this."

Reggie shook his head in disbelief. "You don't understand, Blake. Tessa was the one who blew the whistle on us to the media. She's no friend of ours."

The revelation hit Blake like a punch to the gut, his eyes widening in shock. "What?" he exclaimed, his voice laced with disbelief. "But... why would she do that?"

Reggie sighed heavily, his gaze filled with regret. "I don't know, Blake. But the fact remains that she ratted the existence of Rose out to the entire world. And now you want to risk everything to save her?"

Blake's resolve remained unshaken, his jaw set with determination. "She's still a human being, Reggie," he insisted. "If we leave her here, she'll die. I can't live with that on my conscience."

Reggie sighed, knowing that arguing with Blake was futile when he had made up his mind. "Fine," he relented, his voice resigned. "But we'll make it quick. We don't have much time."

Reggie was going to use his superspeed to take Blake to Tessa's lodge since he and his brothers had also infiltrated it a while ago and he knew the location. However before he could grab hold of Blake, he could see from afar that two figures were blistering with speed, scattering up the beach sand as they approached them.

Reggie's muscles tensed as he watched the two figures blur across the beach, their speed a clear indication of their vampiric nature. His heart sank as he recognized the unmistakable aura of power that emanated from them.

"Oh no," he muttered under his breath, his voice tight with apprehension. Turning to his brothers, he issued a terse command. "Prepare for a fight. Elena's here."

Gunther and Randal exchanged grim looks, their expressions hardening with resolve. Without a word, they moved into position, their bodies tensed and ready for battle.

Reggie's mind raced as he assessed their options. With Elena's arrival, their chances of retrieving Blake and Tessa without a confrontation had all but evaporated. They would need to fight their way out, and he prayed they were prepared for whatever lay ahead.
