Chapter 250: Finally, finally...
As Blake's eyes fell upon Reggie, Gunther, and Randal emerging from the shadows, his mind reeled with disbelief. He never expected to encounter them here, on this remote island.
"What... what are you guys doing here?" Blake stammered, his voice filled with a mixture of shock and confusion.
Reggie stepped forward, his expression unreadable beneath the brim of his hat. "We could ask you the same thing, Blake," he replied, his tone guarded.
Gunther and Randal flanked Reggie, their imposing figures casting long shadows in the moonlight. Blake could feel the weight of their presence, the air heavy with unspoken tension.
"We're here on a mission," Reggie continued, his voice low and steady. "And it seems it's unfinished afterall, thankfully,"
Blake's mind raced as he tried to make sense of the situation. What mission could possibly bring them to this forsaken island? And why did it involve him?
Before he could voice his questions, Nana stepped forward, her gaze flickering between Blake and the three mysterious figures before them.
"You know who they are Blake?" Nana asked, her voice tinged with apprehension.
Blake hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. "They're... old acquaintances," he replied evasively. "But I don't understand what they're doing here."
Reggie's gaze shifted to Nana, his expression inscrutable. "You said Blake was dead," he stated, his voice low and measured.
Nana's eyes darted nervously between Reggie and Blake, her mind racing as she tried to formulate a response. "I... I thought he was," she stammered, her voice trembling slightly. "I saw him lying there, covered in blood..."
Blake stepped forward, his eyes meeting Nana's with a mix of understanding and reassurance. "It's okay, Nana," he said gently. "I was unconscious for a week after that. I don't blame you for thinking I was dead."
Reggie's brow furrowed in thought as he processed this new information. "So, you're saying you survived being left for dead?" he asked, a note of skepticism in his voice.
Blake nodded, a grim determination shining in his eyes. "I'm not sure how, but I'm here now," he replied. "And I intend to find out what's going on, starting with why you're all here."
As Nana continued to cry, her tears flowing unchecked, Reggie stepped forward with a sense of urgency, gently but firmly placing a hand on her shoulder to break up the embrace.
"We don't have time for this," Reggie said, his voice grave. "We need to leave now."
Nana sniffled, wiping at her tears as she looked up at Reggie, her eyes red and puffy. "But... but what about my village?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion. "Elena's destroying everything because of what happened to Blake."
Blake's eyes widened in shock at her words. "What do you mean?" he asked, concern etched on his face.
Nana took a shuddering breath, her voice barely above a whisper. "Kabib killed you," she explained, her voice choked with emotion. "And now Elena's taking her revenge on my people. They don't deserve this, Blake. They don't deserve to suffer because of me."
Reggie's expression hardened as he listened to Nana's words, his jaw set in determination. "We'll deal with Elena," he said firmly, his voice brooking no argument. "But right now, our priority is getting out of here safely. We can't afford to stay any longer."
Gunther stepped forward, his expression softening as he addressed Blake. "Rose would be so happy to see you," he said, his voice filled with genuine warmth.
Blake's heart skipped a beat at the mention of Rose's name, his emotions swirling within him like a tempest. "How... how did you all survive?" he asked, his voice trembling with disbelief. "I saw you, all of you, in such bad shape before I passed out."
Gunther exchanged a glance with Reggie and Randal before turning back to Blake. "We're vampires," he stated simply, his tone matter-of-fact.
Blake's eyes widened in shock at the revelation, his mind struggling to comprehend what he had just heard. "Vampires?" he repeated, his voice barely above a whisper.
But there was one question he needed to ask. Something that he felt he needed to know. "How's Rose? I mean...how is she coping? Did she..." Blake was about to finish when Reggie stepped up to him and patted his shoulders.
Reggie nodded solemnly. "Yes, Blake," he confirmed. "Rose sent us to find you. She's been waiting for you, longing for your return."
Tears welled up in Blake's eyes as he processed the news, a flood of emotions washing over him.
He knew it, Rose would be longing for him as much as he was. He wanted to do so much at that moment. Like go and find Elena and get his revenge. Months, months of not having memories of his beloved. Months spent apart away from her just because of her evil plans.
Months of separation, of uncertainty, all melted away in that moment, replaced by a fierce determination to reunite with Rose and make things right.
But Reggie's voice broke through his reverie, pulling him back to reality. "We have to leave, Blake," Reggie said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument. "There's no time to waste. We need to get out of here before Elena catches up to us."
Reluctantly, Blake nodded, his heart heavy with the weight of his conflicting emotions. "Let's go," he said, his voice filled with determination. "I'll find a way to deal with Elena later. Right now, Rose needs me."
Reggie stepped forward, his voice cutting through the night air with authority. "We've come prepared," he announced, his tone firm. "There's a boat hidden on the island, and we'll use it to leave."
Relief flooded through Blake at the news, his earlier worries about their escape evaporating in an instant. He hadn't been sure how they planned to leave the island, and the thought of being stranded there filled him with dread.
With renewed hope coursing through his veins, Blake followed Reggie and the others as they made their way through the dense foliage. Each step brought him closer to the possibility of reuniting with Rose, and the anticipation filled him with a sense of eager anticipation.
As they ran, the moonlight danced across the waves, casting a silvery glow over the landscape. The sound of the ocean seemed to echo their footsteps, a steady rhythm that propelled them forward with determination.
Despite the urgency of their mission, joy bubbled up within Blake, lifting his spirits with every stride. Finally, after what felt like an eternity of separation, he was on his way to see Rose again.
