Chapter 237 - Is This For Real?
Note: UNEDITED.
Cain was on his way to Derhan Palace when he called Kimmy's number to inform her of his whereabouts. He texted her long ago, but there was no reply, not even a single 'okay'. He suddenly got worried.
Kimmy looked distracted when she found out that the guy Harry was around. And now he was bothered when Kimm told him nothing but plainly to see him at work only.
Before, he did not bother whoever Kimmy had a relationship with, country D, knowing Kimmy already left and came back here, but now he felt alarmed that a man had come to see her for sure.
He had no idea who Harry was. If only he knew his complete name, then he could check his identity in just a snap on his finger. But would that matter? What mattered was how strong was Kimmy's feelings and how he could secure her?
Cain heaved a long deep sigh… He did not want to become clingy, but he was feeling so anxious at that moment with the thought of the possibility of Kimmy seeing Harry! Just when he thought that everything was going smoothly between him and Kimmy, some guy would interrupt it..
He was too consumed in his thought that he almost passed by the gate entrance of Derhan Palace.
"Shit!" he hissed at the sudden stopping of his car. He inhaled and exhaled loudly and drove inside Derhan Palace. He must relieve his thoughts on Kimmy for now since he needed to focus on Gavin for his hypnotherapy. It was a bit earlier than scheduled, but they could try since Gavin was already impatient in finding the truth about what Damiel was hiding from him. He could tell that something was going for Gavin to call him like this so suddenly.
Cain went straight to Gavin's private wing in the palace and knocked in the room where they would have the hypnosis session. Gavin opened the door for him.
No one was inside except Gavin.
"I want to do this alone, Cain. Brione is already worried about me, so better that she was not here while I tried to recall that memory," Gavin explained, and Cain nodded.
"Alright. I agree to do this now, but I will stop if I see you suffering, as I told you on the phone. We must not exhaust your brain, Gavin. There could be some side effects if we do," Cain reminded.
"Are you sure you want to do this now? You look exhausted already," Cain added, noticing Gavin's weary aura.
Gavin heaved a sigh and said, "yeah. Things are a bit crucial now. And I found out that the man I grew with was connected to Duncan Cain. I'm honestly broken and hurt at this point."
"I wanted to confront him with the evidence we had, but I'm not sure I have the confidence to do it. I thought I already prepared myself for the worst in case we find out that father Damiel has a connection to everything, but… I'm wrong. I'm finding it hard to accept Cain, especially now that I don't remember a thing."
"So I must remember what happened that night… that way, everything might make sense because right now, it's tough to process how he…" Gavin paused. He was unable to continue.
"Alright, let's do this, Gavin. I will stop as soon as I notice that it's too much already." Cain, once again, worriedly reminded.
Gavin managed to smile and humorously said, "I understand. Let's begin before my wife comes asking for me."
Cain shook his head and signaled Gavin to sit on his chair. When he was settled, Cain said, "Shall we start?"
Gavin nodded and comfortably relaxed his body as Cain instructed. This time Cain used the same method as what he did in their first session.
He began his hypnotic trance by luring Gavin into his hypnotic voice with verbal repetition and mental images. When he confirmed that Gavin was already in his hypnotic state, he began asking him about that night.
"Do you still remember it, Gavin? That night when you left something in your father's house, and you came back for it?" Cain asked.
"Yes, I forgot to get something inside my old room, so I drove back to my father's place to get it."
"Gavin, can you now remember what happened when you went back to your father's home? What happened?" Cain asked as soon as Gavin reached back at those scenes.
"I walked up the stairs and passed by Father's room. The door was slightly opened, so I thought to check if he was inside, but I heard his angry voice just when I was about to enter. He was quarreling with someone over the phone.
"What did you hear, Gavin? What is your father talking about with the person on the other line of his phone?"
Cain frowned as he listened to Gavin narrating everything he heard on the phone.
"I couldn't believe what I heard. It was about my real identity, and Father is questioning the person he is talking with on the phone about Cedric," Gavin whispered with gritted teeth. Cain was too engrossed in hearing that information.
"What happened next, Gavin?"
"I stepped back, but my mobile phone suddenly rang. My father turned at the door and saw me there, and I could see the terror in his eyes. He walked towards me, asking how long I had been there and if I heard anything he said."
"I didn't answer. My expression said it all, so my father did not ask twice. He approached me, trying to explain himself, but there was nothing to explain. I heard it all… Every detail of it…"
He was angry while he spoke the exact words he did in confronting his father.
"Before he could get near me, I quickly turned around and left."
Cain saw how Gavin clenched his fist. He immediately released him from the hypnosis.
"Are you alright?" Cain asked when Gavin opened his eyes. Gavin exhaled loudly, still not moving from his inclined seat.
"I remembered everything, Cain. That is why he wanted to remove that part in my memory…" Gavin weakly whispered. He felt like his energy got drained. Everything made sense now.
"You should rest more and try not to relax," Cain commented, giving Gavin tips on how he could do it on his own. He was under a lot of stress, but at least now he found out the truth.
"Once you finish this ordeal… You will get back on your feet again, Gavin. Daniel could have his reasons for what he did, so you must prepare to face him and ask him about it yourself. It was easier said than done, but you must muster up enough courage to do it and overcome the disappointment, hurt, and pain the truth caused."
"You have your real family now to help you pull through it… And soon, another big responsibility awaits you as King of this country. Be strong, Gavin, and get enough strength from people who truly love and care for you."
Gavin smiled at Cain and said, "Thank you, Cain. I appreciate this help. I will ask for another session tomorrow if it will be okay. I want to recall more things."
Cain shook his head and said, "no. I suggest you rest for now since your coronation is in two days. Be patient, Gavin... Your memories are coming back, so I'm sure you will remember everything in no time without us even using hypnosis."
"Alright then… I will heed your advice since you're an expert," Gavin said as he stood up on his chair.
"Gavin," Cain called.
"Yes?" Gavin looked at Cain, who looked like he wanted to say something but hesitating, so he added, "Tell me, Cain, what is it? Stop hesitating and say what you want to say."
"You're from country D. Do you somehow know anyone in the name of Harry?"
Gavin creased his forehead and murmured, "Harry? The name sounds familiar. I think I heard of that name before… What is his complete name?"
Cain scratched his head.
"You don't know?" Gavin asked in disbelief.
"You're asking for someone knowing only his first name?" Gavin asked next.
"Never mind…" Cain timidly murmured.
Gavin chuckled and then patted Cain on his shoulders as he said, "Come with me and let's have some snacks with Father and Brione. You need to check Father too…"
Cain nodded and walked first to open the door when he heard Gavin suddenly burst.
"Oh right! Now I remember where I heard Harry's name!"
Cain turned around and scoffed, "huh?"
"During one of the reports I did as an anchor! Harry Cha. I remembered I did an exclusive interview with the man before. Ahh, wait… I can't remember the exact details, but it was Harry Cha. Oh, wait… I'm not sure now if it's Cha or Chan? There's so many Harry, so it's probably not the person you're looking for." Gavin commented before he pulled Cain outside the room.
Cain, on the other hand, grabbed his mobile phone as he walked with Gavin. He started typing the name Harry Cha and saw some articles about him on the internet.
[Harry Cha, CEO of Cha Group, a multinational investment bank and financial services company.]
'Cha Group!' he mused in disbelief. It was the same group he chose to invest in for his hospital expansion worldwide!
"Is this for real?"
