Chapter 202 Library
Library.
A place for those who are seeking wisdom.
At least, it is what should have been meant by the word library.
But, in any case, at some point, be it modernization or social media spread around the world, libraries are filled with those that are not here to study but rather there to show off to others that they are studying.
Though that may seem the same, in the essence of it, it is not. If a person studies to show off, then he/she will most likely be able t grasp everything, though I don't have any data to base it on.
In any case, that was what I observed while studying in the college.
But would this be the same for the world that was filled with fantasy elements?
Will the library be filled with those students that are there just for the case of showing off?
The answer is yes.
Because youngsters are youngsters no matter where you go.

As we approached the building of the library, a magnificent sight that would take everyone's breath away welcomed us.
The facade is an architectural masterpiece showcasing a harmonious blend of ancient and contemporary design elements. It has adorned with intricate mosaics and with deep blues and purples representing the mysteries of the cosmos, while also vibrant greens and golds adding the wealth of knowledge that lies underneath those doors.
"Wow….. It is amazing."
While we were looking at the magnificent display, Diana exclaimed.
"Indeed it is."
Even for us, as the high-ranking nobles of the Kingdom, it was a sight that was first. Well, I was a former one….
And seeing it in real life is a lot different than seeing it in the game.
Well, this was something I thought about quite a lot….
"I really want to study right now."
Diana said while turning her head to me with a smile.
'She is finally back to being normal.'
Though her mood was not yet lifted to the maximum, it was a lot better than morning.
"It makes you want to research, isn't it?"
"It is."
"Though, I doubt you will find something related to the nature."
I said as we entered the building.
"It doesn't matter. I don't want to study nature magic right now. I heard there are a lot of books related to spirit sorcery here that I couldn't find outside. I wonder if I can check them."
"Hmm…. Maybe."
It looked like she didn't want to talk about her plant magic, so I didn't pursue it either.
"Hello, students."
Of course, after a little walk, we reached a lobby where a woman with a bright smile called us.
"Are you freshmen?"
The woman asked while keeping her smile.
Considering we had yet to wear our academy clothes, it was pretty easy to distinguish freshmen and a senior.
"Yes."
I answered as we approached the desk.
"Wow…. It is my first time seeing a freshman coming to the library on his first day, even right after the entrance ceremony ended."
"Everything has a first."
I answered while looking at the woman in front of me.
'All Seeing Eye.'
While, of course, activating my art.
'!'
But, the moment I did that, suddenly, my eyes filled with blackness while I felt pressure descending upon me.
The world that I saw with my eyes was now filled with only darkness.

"Boy…. You should not look at things that are private for others."
And soon, a voice came right into my head, filling it.
As I felt the pressure, I immediately retracted my eyes, and following that, the pressure disappeared.
'Huff…. That was scary.'
I thought inside as I threw a glance at Diana to see if she felt it or not.
And as I expected, she hadn't.
'I was expecting this much anyway, but to think even my eyes couldn't see her stats.'
I thought and regained my composure while locking my eyes with the lady in front of me.
A woman who had a smile on her face and features that were neither too beautiful nor too ugly.
It could be said that she was on the average spectrum of people, like someone that could be forgotten right after you met her.
Though, her pitch-black eyes were saying otherwise.
Now, what is the cliched setting that you could see in all those cultivation novels?
Well, one of them is a librarian being someone strong and with hidden background, isn't it?
This was also a setting in the game, as this librarian lady in front of me is someone that is incredibly strong.
In the game, she was someone that should never be messed with since if you did it, your head would fall down from your body, and your game would restart from the beginning.
And her background was never explained, even though there were a lot of theories that were related to her.
In any case, I just wanted to take a shot to satisfy my curiosity, but it seems I need to be a lot more careful when it comes to these types of things.
'Since I am still not invincible.'
Even though I was able to freely use my All-Seeing Eye, if someone strong was the subject, they could still feel it.
"Please show your bracelets here."
The librarian said with a smile as she extended a device to us.
""Here.""
As Diana and I showed our bracelets, Mana entered bracelets.
"Hmm, the first and second rank of freshmen."
She mumbled, seeing the hologram of mana appearing.
"First and Second Rank!"
And a second after, she realized the meaning of her words.
"So, you are first and second, huh? Your being here is enough to show why you are ranked this high. That's right."
She talked to herself.
"Now, even though this would be explained to you normally by your instructors, let me give you a brief about how this school works."
"As you already know, we have a ranking system. Therefore, there are perks that are only available to those of higher rankings."
"Firstly, you will soon receive your Ark Points from your instructors after everyone's ranks are finalized and the objections to grades are also finished, which is tomorrow in your first class."
"There are also quotas and limits for each student to use the facilities offered by Academy freely, and after you pass those quotas, you need to pay with your points, just like the Library."
"However, since you are in the first ten ranked students, you are free to use Library however you want."
She said as she signaled the library.
"For the case of borrowing books, the rank-one student can borrow ten books at the same time; the rank-two student can five, and lastly, rank-three can borrow three. Aside from that, every other student can borrow only one book."
She said while looking at us.
"Lastly, when you borrow a book, scan it with your bracelets, and it will be only available to you, and no other person will have access to it. Therefore, you can't abuse your slots. Am I clear?"
As she finished her words, we both nodded our heads.
"Is that so? Then, feel free to explore our library."
Responding with a nod, we entered the library only to see another magnificent scene….

Guys, what do you think about chants?
Do you find them annoying or cringe?
If you don't like reading those chants, I can remove them from the book from this point on, though they will stay as the setting itself. At first, I thought using chants as magic was good, thanks to a game, but there were some comments that they were a bit cringe, so I want to take your opinion.
To be honest, finding good chants is also a bit hard, so I am not doing it for word counts, either, if there is anyone who thinks like that.
If you are okay with them, comment on this sentence.
If not, then comment on this one, please.
