Chapter 6193: Mobai Blade
Chapter 6193: Mobai Blade
“Its reputation travels far and wide, it’s an honor.” Li Xian bowed.
The Li had participated in the many illustrious events in Three Immortals. Today, they had fallen from grace and couldn’t be considered a minor sect. Of course, during their peak, the Mu couldn’t match them.
“I’ve only learned the basics.” Orchidcore shook his head and felt a bit embarrassed by the bow.
The Mu still had some prestige left in the present day. Rumor has it that it was once eradicated with only a few survivors. Later on, Progenitor Mobai surged to relevance and revitalized the clan.
By this point, few knew of the Mu’s history and its near-destruction. Most thought that the current clan started with Progenitor Mobai.
Strangely enough, Progenitor Mobai was not a member of the Mu, perhaps only a disciple there. He could have started his own clan or dao lineage but chose to find the survivors of the Mu. He then started a dao system there with them so that they could prosper.
No one understood the reasoning behind this, doing a favor for another clan. He never explained either.
Rumor has it that he mentioned something about atonement. The actual details eluded future generations.
Regardless of the reason, the Mu worshipped him as their founding progenitor despite his different last name. This wasn’t a problem because they were on the verge of dying out. All their old legacies were gone as well.
“Your Mu Yun Grand Art was among the best in Three Immortals, far stronger than this Mobai Blade.” Li Qiye remarked.
This surprised the youths, especially Orchidcore Young Noble.
“You are aware of it, Fellow Daoist?” He was startled because the art was lost long ago. Mobai Blade was their defining legacy now.
As one of the main successors, he knew a bit about the past and had heard of Mu Yun Grand Art before.
“Mu Yun was a supreme progenitor, one of the few using his name as the title.” Li Qiye said.
“Do you know more about our progenitor?” Orchidcore became excited.
“That art is long lost.” Princess Chen remarked.
“Yes, everything before Progenitor Mobai is gone.” Orchidcore lamented.
“Mobai Blade is dominant enough, I can’t imagine Muyun Grand Art being better? About as strong as a primal progenitor?” Monk Zhu participated as well.
“I have heard of Progenitor Mu Yun being one of the Decemvirate.” Li Xian said.
“Decemvirate?” This was foreign to Princess Chen.
“It’s a forgotten list, nothing concrete either. I know Gao Yang is also a member.” Orchidcore said.
“Gao Yang!” The others became emotional.
“Did Gao Yang become an overlord?” Mu Hu asked.
“I think it’s true.” Orchidcore said: “You all know about the tales of Gao Yang passing on the flame and Emperor Zheng’s attempt at extinguishment. It implies Gao Yang was an overlord and Emperor Zheng was next.”
“Then your Mu Clan was exceedingly powerful. All Decemvirate’s members became overlords, your progenitor must be just as strong.” Princess Chen said.
“An overlord...” Li Xian murmured and thought about his ancestor, Li Xuansu. Was she a supreme overlord as well?
“They’re so powerful, then this missing art of yours could be a technique from an overlord.” Princess Chen said.
“I wouldn’t know, never saw it before.” Orchidcore shook his head.
“Mingxin, doesn’t your legacy have an overlord too?” The innocent Mu Hu scratched his head, lacking an appreciation for supreme overlords.
All eyes were on her. Orchidcore had the best background among the four young saints, not Princess Chen.
“Of course not, I am from a minor province in the mortal world. What overlord?” She denied.
“Oh, so I’m wrong.” Mu Hu believed her.
“If we had one, would I be joining the academy?” She smiled wryly.
“That’s true.” Mu Hu said: “It would be nice if our academy has someone ike that. Would be a lot less boring.”
