Volume 3 Chapter 16: He’s Here!
It was only an instant for them to arrive at the academy.
This place hadn't changed so much. Keith looked around. He hadn't gone to the academy in a while now. But there was no change. It was the same the last time he came here.
"By the way, where is Aria and Mir?" Gabriel questioned. He didn't see the owl and little creature on Keith's shoulder.
Keith explained, "I have my grandfather and grandmother watch over them."
"Oh, I see."
"We should head to the academy to register,"
"Gotcha," Keith and Gabriel walked over to the academy. And when they arrived, there was already a long line.
"There's already a lot of people here," Keith chuckled as he saw this. The two waited in line.
It didn't take long before the two arrived in front of the counter.
"Hello, the two of us would like to enroll in the academy."
The receptionist nodded, "Please place your hand on the orbs,"
"Are the two of you nobles or commoners?" The receptionist questioned. There was a fundamental difference between a noble and a commoner.
Nobles were taught at a young age to use magic and how to fight. Commoners were never taught any of this.
The difference in skills would be vast.
"My name is Keith, and I'm a noble," When Keith said this, the orb turned green. That meant he was telling the truth. Gabriel did the same and placed his hand on the table,
"My name is Gabriel, and I'm a noble," The orb turned green.
The receptionist nodded, "Please write your name here," She handed the paper to Keith and Gabriel. It was simple questions.
It talked about name, date of birth, and which house he belonged to. Keith and Gabriel handed the papers back after they finished writing their information.
"Please have this on your wrist and go to the gate on the right," The two nodded as they wore the bands. They entered the gate on the right,
"You were a noble?" Keith grinned.
Gabriel nodded, "Of course. And your skills with the sword were so refined." Gabriel and Keith realized that the other was not normal.
How the two fought those bandits made them realize the other wasn't normal.
"And you were talking to the guards so easily," Gabriel added. Keith quickly ordered the guards to send the captives home. That alone showed he didn't have a normal identity.
"Let's pass the test together," Keith smiled.
"Yeah, let's do it!" Gabriel stated with a smile.
...
While Keith and Gabriel walked to the testing sight, Cadmus stared out the window.
"When is the kid going to arrive?" This was the year! This was the year Keith would be enrolling in the academy! And he was excited!
Free food, here I come!
But Keith hadn't arrived yet. He found it strange. As he was lost in thought, Sohma entered the room, "We need to get ready for the first test,"
"Did the kid come?"
"Yes. I looked at the people who enrolled today. He was one of them,"
"Yes! The time has come!" Cadmus was about to leave the room. But,
"Hold it! You're not going there," Sohma grabbed Cadmus's collar.
"Why not?!" Cadmus glared at him,
"Why not? Did you forget about your position?" He was the Principal of the academy! If he walked to Keith right now, everyone would be shocked,
"Seriously, why does the kid have to be taking a test like this! There's no need for him to do that!" Cadmus pouted. He wanted to enroll Keith like that!
"If you did that, people would have questioned him," Sohma decided to do it for his protection. If Keith had gotten in without doing any test, it would make him suspicious. Rumors would flock about him. Sohma didn't want that for Keith.
"..." Cadmus gritted his teeth. He couldn't deny what he said.
"We just need to wait for him to finish."
