Chapter 355 - Thank You, Mrs. Lu
The couple went back into the building and realized that the others were staring at them., whispering. A while ago, both of them were too anxious about getting their certificate that they had not noticed that there were people who had recognized them.
Song Xing Xing looked at her phone and was shocked to find that there were hundreds of messages. Her family members and friends were asking her the authenticity of the news while some had congratulated her.
She had put her phone on silent and had not noticed their messages.
Initially, they wanted to keep this matter a secret and let their family know about their marriage once they got their certificate. However, it seemed that now, everyone knew that they had come to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get their certificate.
"President Lu, what do you want to do?" Bei Yuan asked.
Lu Xun looked out the glass door where there were a few policemen preventing those reporters from coming into the building.
Someone should have called the police and asked for their help to control the situation once they found out that he and Xing Xing was at this place.
"Did you call for the police?"
"It wasn't me," Bei Yuan said. "They were already here when I got here." He was too anxious when his boss did not pick up his phone call.
Bei Yuan had then grabbed his keys and head straight to the bureau to find out the situation.
Lu Xun pursed his lips into a thin line, wondering how was he supposed to leave. Just then, someone walked over and greeted him.
"President Lu?"
Lu Xun gave the man a lookover.
"I'm Officer Yan," the man introduced himself. He glanced at the chaotic scene outside the building and continued, "I was told to lead you out through the VIP exit."
Looking at the way he was dressed and his posture, Lu Xun guessed that this man should be someone with a higher rank in the office.
"Who send you over?"
"Someone from the Mayor's office called Mr. Song."
Lu Xun and Song Xing Xing exchanged a look. That person should be her eldest uncle, right?
Lu Xun gave him a nod. "Then, please lead us the way."
His relationship with Song Xing Xing was no longer a secret. However, looking at the group of people in front of the building, Lu Xun was worried that an accident was going to happen.
The officer led them to another side of the building where there were fewer people around.
As they approached the smaller exit door, Song Yi was already waiting for them at the door.
The group thanked the officer and watched him turn around and leave.
"My father sent me over to pick you up," Song Yi explained to Song Xing Xing.
"Eldest uncle know I'm here?"
"Your father called him."
Song Xing Xing nodded. It seemed that her father had seen the news earlier and had called her eldest uncle and asked for his help. Seeing everything that goes on on the internet, her father should have guessed that she would be in trouble.
It seemed that she will have to call her father soon lest he would worry.
Song Yi shifted his gaze to Lu Xun and said, "You did not expect that there would be a crowd waiting for you?"
Lu Xun coughed. "Of course, not."
Song Yi heaved a sigh. "You may not be a celebrity but there were a lot of people who were interested in your life after all the scandals you have gone through."
Lu Xun did not refute his words.
"Come on, let's get out of here." Song Yi turned around and led them to his car. "I'll drop you at your office. Or is there any place you want to go to?"
"My office is fine. Thank you." Lu Xun turned around and handed his car key to his assistant. "Bei Yuan, help and take back my car to the office. I'll meet you there."
The assistant nodded and he left once he figured out the location of the vehicle.
Song Xing Xing slid into the back seat while Lu Xun rode shotgun. As Song Xing Xing replied to the many texts from her family and friends, Lu Xun exchanged a few words with Song Yi.
Liu Yu Sheng sent her a text, telling her that there were a group of reporters outside the studio as well. Previously, Shi An Na had revealed Song Xing Xing's face as well as the place she worked at. The reporters remembered them and had come to wait for her, hoping to get their news.
They finally arrived at the NEXT Group headquarters after fifteen minutes of driving.
Seeing that there were a group of reporters in front of the building, Lu Xun instructed Song Yi to head into the basement parking.
Song Yi dropped them off and looked at the couple again. "Congratulations. When you have time, come over to my place for a meal." He looked at Song Xing Xing and said, "Your sister-in-law would love you to come."
The group exchanged a few words before Song Xing Xing followed Lu Xun into the building.
"Yu Sheng said that there were a group of reporters waiting outside the studio as well."
Lu Xun frowned. He did not expect that people would continue to be interested in his and Song Xing Xing's life.
"Then, don't go to the studio today and stay with me at the office," Lu Xun said. "The reporters only came to get some news. I'll make a statement later. Hopefully, they will leave once they got the news that they wanted."
He was also at a loss. This was supposed to be a happy day for them but a group of reporters, trying to ambush them everywhere had ruined this for them.
He didn't even have the chance to look at their marriage certificate properly.
The elevator arrived with a ding.
Lu Xun led her into his office and let a secretary call the PR Director into the meeting room. Then, he turned to Song Xing Xing and sighed. "Sorry."
Song Xing Xing laughed. "This is not your fault. We both did not see this coming." She gave a peck on his lips and spoke, "Go ahead and do what you need to do. I'll call our parents and explain this to them."
His lips curled into a smile. He leaned over and caught her lips into a kiss. As he thought that the person he was kissing now was his wife, Lu Xun could not help but deepen their kisses. When they parted, he gazed into her flushed face and called, "Thank you, Mrs.. Lu."
