You're My Only Star

As soon as she woke up, Song Xing Xing has been busy tidying her house and organizing the luggage that she was going to bring along for the trip.

Mr. Fluffball saw that her master had taken out her carrier and knew that she was going to go out and play while abandoning him again. The grey cat sat in his cage as he watched Song Xing Xing vacuumed the living room and meowed his dissatisfaction.

Song Xing Xing wiped the sweat on her forehead and looked around. Seeing that everything was in place, she finally put down the vacuum in her hand.

"Meow."

"No. You can't get out. Mr. Fluffball, don't think that I haven't noticed the way you have been eyeing that potted plant on the shelf.

Lu Xun was going to show up at her apartment in an hour to pick her up. There was no way that Song Xing Xing was going to let her cat ruin her date.

The grey cat blinked innocently before he lowered his head again.

Song Xing Xing went back into her room to get ready.

The doorbell rang as she came out from the bathroom with half of her hair wet. Thinking that her boyfriend had shown up, Song Xing Xing quickly unlocked the door.

Her eyes widened in shock upon finding that the person who was standing in front of her was not the person she has been waiting for. Instead, it was her brother, Song Wei.

"Song Wei?" Song Xing Xing blinked. "Why are you here?"

"It's your birthday this weekend. I came here to celebrate your birthday with you." The smile on Song Wei's face turned brighter. "Sister, are you touched?"

Song Xing Xing's face turned darker.

She was not touched. Instead, she hoped that her brother would leave soon.

What kind of joke is this?

She had planned to go on a trip with her boyfriend. How did this person suddenly appear? Song Xing Xing had thought that it would be Mr. Fluffball who will disturb her date plan with Lu Xun. Who would have thought that there would be someone else?

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Song Wei asked. He inched closer to get a closer look at his sister. "It couldn't be that you are too touched that you did not know how to react?"

Song Xing Xing quickly snapped out of her thoughts. "What touched? Song Wei, you cannot be here?"

"Why not?"

"I'm going on a trip."

Song Wei looked at his sister with wide eyes. He was about to call her bluff when he noticed the luggage piling at the side of the sofa.

"Where are you going?"

Song Xing Xing pursed her lips before she finally answered. "It's a secret."

Even she did not know where Lu Xun was planning to take her. How was she supposed to answer Song Wei this question?

Song Wei stared at his sister suspiciously. "Who are you going with?"

Before Song Xing Xing opened her mouth to answer, someone had suddenly appeared at her door.

Lu Xun had just arrived when he saw that her girlfriend's door was opened. As he approached, the two siblings were still at the front door. Seeing this scene, Lu Xun did not know how he should react.

Because she was facing the door, Song Xing Xing was the first to notice Lu Xun's presence. Her eyes lit up the moment she saw him. Then, the look on her face changed and was replaced with worry.

Song Wei seemed to notice the change in his sister's face. He followed her eyes and narrowed his eyes the moment he saw that Lu Xun was standing before him.

A light flashed in his eyes. Song Wei quickly understood that his sister was planning to go on a trip with this guy.

Song Wei's instinct told him that he should stop them. However, he suddenly recalled the pair of basketball shoes that he had received from Lu Xun.

Wearing that pair of shoes gave him a different feeling. Suddenly, he became better at playing basketball. Even his friends were eyeing him with envy.

Since he had accepted that pair of shoes, it did not feel good to suddenly make trouble for Lu Xun...

As Song Wei was feeling conflicted at the side, both Song Xing Xing and Lu Xun were staring at each other.

Lu Xun raised his brow, silently asking her what was going on while Song Xing Xing glanced at her brother before she looked at Lu Xun pleadingly. It was as if she was telling him that her brother was a troublemaker and she did not know what she should do with him.

"Hello, Song Wei," Lu Xun greeted politely. "I didn't expect to see you here as well."

Song Wei snapped out of his trance and quickly turned around to look at Lu Xun. "Mhm... It will be my sister's birthday in a few days. I'm planning to stay for a few days and celebrate her birthday with her."

The smile on Lu Xun's face stiffened. However, he quickly composed himself and pretended that he was not affected by his words.

Song Wei quickly shifted his gaze towards the luggage piling in the living room. When he looked at Lu Xun again, the smile on his face turned a little mischievous.

"But it seemed that my sister is planning to go on a trip with you."

Lu Xun lowered his head slightly and coughed. "Yes."

"Can I tag along?"

"No!" Song Xing Xing was the one who answered Song Wei's question.

"Why not?"

"Why do you want to tag along?" Song Xing Xing stared at her brother with an exasperated look on her face.

This person really did not know how to read the situation, right? She was going on a trip with her boyfriend. Why on earth would she let her brother tag along?

"Aren't you going to celebrate your birthday?" Song Wei blinked innocently. "Why can't I come along to celebrate with you? Am I not your brother?"

Song Xing Xing looked at her brother speechlessly. It took her a few seconds before she spoke, "You don't even bring along your change of clothes."

"We'll just get them on our way." Song Wei shrugged. "Anyway, it's not like I am without money."

Song Xing Xing pursed her lips as she was thinking of a way to stop her brother and his plan to ruin her long-awaited trip with her boyfriend.

Song Wei turned to Lu Xun at this time and flashed a bright smile. "My future brother-in-law, what do you think?"
