You're My Only Star

After breakfast, Song Xing Xing stayed in the room and waited for Lu Xun to settle his work. When they returned in the afternoon, Lu Xun went to check out both their rooms. Surprisingly, with Zhang Yu Han's instruction, Song Xing Xing was not charged for her stay at the hotel.

She looked at the hotel statement and smiled happily. Last night, she had a heartache just at the thought of the amount of money she will have to spend to stay one night at the expensive suite.

However, as she had made her decision to visit Lu Xun, give him a surprise, and settle what she has been worrying about for the past few weeks, Song Xing Xing could only grit her teeth and use her credit card.

Lu Xun watched his girlfriend's happy face helplessly. He stretched his hand and pinched at her cheek. "Are you that happy?"

"En. I get to stay one night in the expensive room without paying. This is something worth being happy about."

Lu Xun chuckled, wondering why was his girlfriend so reluctant to spend her money.

"Where are we going?" Song Xing Xing asked as they walked to the entrance where a luxury SUV was already waiting for them.

"Y City. Your parents' house."

"Ah?" Song Xing Xing looked back at him in surprise.

He passed their luggage to the hotel staff before turning to his girlfriend with a serious look on his face. "Since you're here, we might as well go and visit them. I already called your mother and told her that we are coming for a visit."

"My mother? How did you have my mother's number?"

"We exchanged our contact number during my last visit." Lu Xun said.

Since he was dating their daughter, Song Xing Xing's mother thought that it would be better for them to exchange contact numbers for emergencies.

"They already knew that you are in B City," Lu Xun said. "It won't be good if we did not go over and visit them. Xing Xing." He paused to give her a faint smile. "I'm trying to win more points from your parents so that they would trust you with me a little more. You have to help and put some nice words for me."

His words stunned her. Thinking that he wanted to work hard to win her parents' hearts made her feel warm.

Each day, each time, Lu Xun would give her more reason to love him.

Song Xing Xing bit at her lips, wondering if their sudden visit to her parents' place was related to what she had planned to do to Lu Xun last night.

She shook her head to dismiss such thoughts away.

The two of them sat together in the back seat. As the car started to move, Song Xing Xing took out her phone and logged into her game to clear her daily mission while Lu Xun was reading his email.

Since he was not going to show up at the company tomorrow, he would need to settle a few documents and email everything back to his assistant.

As she was still killing some monsters, Song Xing Xing suddenly felt something heavy on her shoulder. Turning around, she found that her boyfriend was leaning on her shoulder with his eyes closed.

"Lu Xun?"

His brow scrunched up but he did not make any other move.

Seeing his tired face, Song Xing Xing suddenly recalled that him saying that he could not get proper sleep because she was there beside him.

Her face flushed red.

Song Xing Xing glanced at the driver and saw that he was focused on the road. She leaned forward and kissed him on top of his head.

With one free hand, Song Xing Xing took off his glasses carefully. Then, she grabbed her jacket at the side and helped to cover his body to keep him warm. Then, she adjusted her sitting position so that he would be able to sleep comfortably.

Last night she had used his arms as her pillow. This time, she would let him use her shoulder.

The journey from B City to Y City would take around half an hour if the traffic was smooth. Song Xing Xing looked at the road and estimated that Lu Xun should be able to have a fifteen minutes nap before they arrived at her parents' house.

Lu Xun woke up as the vehicle entered the route to the Song's residence. He sat up straight and turned to his girlfriend when he realized that he had fallen asleep on her shoulder.

"You're awake." Song Xing Xing helped to tidy his hair before she handed over his glasses. "We're almost there. We should be arriving in five minutes."

Lu Xun wore his glasses and looked around, His lips pursed into a thin line when they could finally see the Song's mansion from a distance away.

Because the family has been alerted about their arrival, the guards had quickly let their vehicle enter the area.

As the car pulled over in front of the house, Song Xing Xing alighted the SUV and waited for Lu Xun. After he had exchanged a few words with the driver, the two of them walked to the house together.

An auntie greeted them at the door before Song Xing Xing's mother, Ye Ling Feng came out of the kitchen.

Her eyes lit up when she saw her daughter. However, the joyous look on her face immediately disappeared as she approached closer.

"This girl… you finally know to come home and visit your mother," Ye Ling Feng said. Although she was sounding her daughter, there was a hint of doting in her tone.

Song Xing Xing batted her eyelashes, feigning her innocence. "Mom, what are you talking about? Didn't I visit you a while ago?"

"How long is a while ago?" Ye Ling Feng frowned. "If it was bot because of Lu Xun, would you come home? You didn't even let us know that you're in B City."

"Mom…" Song Xing Xing stretched her tone and began to act coquettishly with her mother. "Don't be angry. I thought that I might not have enough time to visit. Therefore, I did not say anything to you."

Ye Ling Feng heaved a sigh.

Look at this daughter. She was really good at giving excuses.

Ye Ling Feng turned to Lu Xun and a bright smile bloomed on her face. "Lu Xun, come on in."

"Auntie." Lu Xun greeted.

"Un." Ye Ling Feng gave the man a look over and nodded in satisfaction. "Auntie had already prepared some dishes. The two of you haven't had lunch yet, right? Let's eat together. Xing Xing's father should be home later."

Song Xing Xing looked at the way her mother  speechlessly. Something seemed a little strange.

When did her mother become this friendly with Lu Xun? What did she miss?
