You're My Only Star

As it was time for Lu Xun to leave, Ye Ling Feng dragged her daughter to the kitchen under the disguise that she will need to pack the cakes she made for Lu Xun to take back to the hotel.

Meanwhile, Lu Xun followed Song Chen out of the house and the two of them walked around in silence. He could tell that Song Chen had something that he wanted to say to him. However, the man kept walking around without saying a word. As seconds passed by, Lu Xun only grew anxious.

He really did not think that meeting Song Xing Xing's parents would feel like this.

Lu Xun had a feeling that as long as he continued to stay around the house, this feeling would not disappear.

As they were reaching towards the artificial lake, Song Chen suddenly stopped on his track and turned around, almost giving Lu Xun a heart attack.

The elder man looked at Lu Xun for a long time and did not know how to begin.

If his daughter had brought home someone that he only meet for the first time, Song Chen could still break the silence by asking him about what he do. However, Lu Xun is someone he knew well. His daughter had chosen someone like Lu Xun. It proved that she had good taste.

However, Lu Xun was not the person that he imagined to be with his daughter.

The thing that bugged him the most was their age difference. His daughter can be very childish and spoiled. Would the two of them be able to communicate well?

Lu Xun continued to stay silent as he waited for Song Chen to speak. His head lowered, knowing well that Song Xing Xing's parents, especially her father did not like him dating her that much.

They did not hate him. However, they did not like him either.

"What's the situation between you and my daughter right now?" Song Chen spoke after a long time. "I can see that my daughter liked you. However, I want to know what is your intention towards her?"

"Uncle, I am very serious about her. I am aware of her background. But you can be assured that I won't take advantage of her. I will treat her well and respect her."

"The last time you have confessed that you are dating someone... is that person referring to Xing Xing?" After knowing that his daughter was dating Lu Xun, Song Chen had surfed the internet to look him up and found the scandal where he was seen hugging a certain female.

"Yes. Other than her, I have no one else around."

Song Chen snorted. "Then, what's the deal with the reporter? It looks to me that someone is out there to get you."

"Whatever it is, I won't let my matters hurt your daughter. I can't promise that something like that won't happen again. But if it did happen again, I promise to protect her."

"You are..." Song Chen paused and frowned. "You are aware of your age difference between you and my daughter? My Xing Xing is still young and this is the first time that she has been in a relationship. It's not that I don't trust my daughter's judgment. However, as a father, I can't help but worry. I just thought that she had made a hasty decision when she decided to date you."

Lu Xun was quiet for a long time.

He understood Song Chen's worry about his daughter. Initially, he had thought that he and Song Xing Xing are incompatible as well. But, after knowing her for a while, he realized that their difference is what made him attracted to her.

Ever since Song Xing Xing had appeared in his life, Lu Xun found that everything around him gradually changed.

After he had left C Country, he had spent most of his time on his business. He did not care about anything in his life. Song Xing Xing made his life interesting again. He gradually paid his attention to her and found that he had fallen slowly for her.

That feeling grew. By now, he liked her so much that he did not know what he was going to do if her parents wanted him to stay away from her.

Song Chen snorted. He wanted to find Lu Xun's weaknesses but could not find any. This man does not need money or a connection. He already has those things. Song Chen really could not understand how did the two of them got together.

"What if my daughter changed her mind and no longer wanted to have anything to do with you?"

Lu Xun's expression changed and he lowered his head for a few seconds. "If that happens, if Song Xing Xing tells me that she longer like me or has any feelings for me, then I won't force her to stay either. However, if she chose to leave because of something else, then I will continue to stay beside her."

As long as they still had feelings for each other, Lu Xun thought that everything could be discussed and together, they could make it work.

Song Chen narrowed his eyes. He wanted to say more but could not find anything wrong with what this boy had said to him.

This was actually making him slightly annoyed.

Song Chen could only blame that Lu Xun's appearance at his house was a little too sudden and that he had no experience in driving his daughter's boyfriend away.

If only his daughter had previously dated a boy and brought him home, perhaps he would have experience. Then, he will know what to say and do.

After the two had talked for a while, Song Xing Xing appeared and flickered her eyes between the two men. Her gaze finally stopped at her father and she asked, "Dad, what did you and Lu Xun talked about?"

Song Chen sent a warning gaze to Lu Xun before he spoke to his daughter. "Nothing. I was just scaring him a little bit."

Hearing her father's reply, Song Xing Xing frowned. "Dad..."

"I'm just joking with you." Song Chen sighed. He rubbed her head with his hand and spoke, "I'm going inside. Xing Xing, you go and send our guests off. Don't spend too long outside and just come in after you finish talking."
