You're My Only Star

Fifteen minutes before the appointment, Lu Xun showed up at the Song's residence with the gifts that his friend had prepared for him. His anxiety accelerated as the vehicle finally entered the compound.

Just as he had pulled over the car, Lu Xun noticed that the door swung open and someone had rushed out from the door.

The corner of his lips tilted as he saw that the person is no other than his girlfriend. His heartbeat accelerated as he watched her running over to meet him.

Her cheek was a little flushed and her hair bounced as she ran. This sight was too beautiful. Everything around him seemed to have stop and the only thing he could see was his girlfriend.

As she arrived beside the car, Song Xing Xing knocked on the driver's window. Then, before Lu Xun could react and roll down the window, she put both fingers on the window and drew a shape of a heart for him.

Something warm spread from his heart as he saw this scene. His girlfriend could be so cute and playful. Each time he saw her, Lu Xun would feel as if everything around him turned brighter.

Her lips curled into a bright smile. Song Xing Xing took a step back and waited for him to come out.

Just then, the engine was turned off, the door was pushed open, and Lu Xun finally came out. 

Lu Xun became infected with her smile and the anxiousness had suddenly disappeared. "Why did you come out so fast?" He had not turned off the engine yet but the girl had suddenly appeared beside him.

"Well, I, miss you."

Lu Xun felt turbulence in his heart. He wanted to kiss the girl senselessly but was worried that some people might be lurking from the house.

If her parents caught him taking advantage of their daughter right on their territory, they might feel unhappy. If they found him displeasing, then, how was he supposed to convince them that he wanted to date their daughter.

"Are you nervous?"

Hearing her question, his anxiousness returned and his palm started to sweat,

He was only here to be introduced to her parents as her boyfriend. It was not as if he was asking them permission to marry her... Why did he have to be this scared?

Song Xing Xing laughed when she noticed the slight pale look on his face.

This was one of the rare occasions where she could see her boyfriend like this. Although she felt a little sorry for him, Song Xing Xing thought that it was fun to tease him once in a while.

Song Xing Xing tugged him in the arms, wanting him to enter the home quickly so that she could introduce him to everyone. However, Lu Xun put a hand on hers to stop her.

"Let me bring in the gift that I have brought over for your family members as well."

"You brought gifts?"

"Un". Lu Xun nodded. "I could not possibly come over with an empty hand, could I?"

Song Xing Xing followed him around the car and stopped to watch him opened the car boot.

As soon as the door slowly opened, Song Xing Xing took the chance to kiss her boyfriend on the corner of his lips. A mischievous smile curled on her lips as she watched him staring back at her with a dazed expression.

Song Xing Xing lowered her head shyly and spoke, "No one should see us here."

If her parents were still spying on them from the window, they would not be able to see anything as the car was blocking their view. She was too happy to see his boyfriend showed up in front of the house and could not stop herself from kissing him.

Lu Xun heaved a sigh. The kiss was too brief and it was not sufficient to help him ease his anxiousness. However, for now, he has to make do.

Song Xing Xing turned her head to look at the item that Lu Xun had bought for her family.

A gasp escaped her as she saw the number of paper bags. "So many? What did you get?" Suddenly, Song Xing Xing was curious about what this man had bought for her family.

Lu Xun laughed. "Un. I did not know what I should buy. Yu Han and his wife helped me to pick up a few things."

"Your relationship with them is really good." At the thought that Lu Xun had many friends around him, Song Xing Xing felt a little jealous.

Growing up, she had a few friends. As they grew up, they found that their interest was not the same, and grew apart. Although they still kept in touch, they were not that close.

Bai Zhi was perhaps one of the closest friends she had during college. Unfortunately, her friendship with this person did not last that long.

Lu Xun picked up the paper bags from the boot and followed Song Xing Xing into the house.

As soon as they stepped into the house, Song Xing Xing noticed that something does not seem right. Just a few minutes ago, her parents were still in the living room. However, they have suddenly disappeared the moment she entered with her boyfriend.

Song Xing Xing brought her boyfriend further into the house and ran into Auntie Zhao who has been working for the family for years. Song Xing Xing shot an inquiring gaze and asked, "Where are my parents?"

The middle-aged woman heaved a sigh and glanced towards the TV room. "The Master and Madam were in their studies. Young miss, why don't you let your friends sit around first. Your parents should come out shortly before dinner."

Song Xing Xing saw the look on Auntie Zhao's face and thought that she was speaking nonsense.

When did her father's study was relocated to the first floor? Wasn't that the TV room?

However, Song Xing Xing did not expose Auntie Zhao's lies. It should be her parents who had instructed Auntie Zhao to tell her these lies.

"Auntie Zhao, help me to carry these paper bags, they are gifts for my parents," Song Xing Xing said.

Auntie Zhao glanced at Lu Xun and had a good impression of him. She greeted him and took the paper bags from his hand. 

Knowing that her parents were childishly playing hide and seek, Song Xing Xing took Lu Xun around the house to give her parents the chance to plan their escape.

Her parents were already so old but they still wanted to play hide and seek like this. If the outsiders knew how her parents act when there was no one around, no one would believe that they were the same person.

Song Xing Xing took Lu Xun back into the living room. A few minutes later, her parents' voice could be heard heading towards the living area.

The look on her face turned brighter while Lu Xun turned paler.
