Chapter 146 I Am The Sword Saint, Alister Wright
"Run bitch! Run!!!"
They didn't know who shouted that, but when they noticed the descent of the dimensional gate, they immediately ran out of there like a bunch of headless chickens.
The crowd caused a stampede as they even mercilessly ignored that they had stomped a child to death.
After all, to them, their life was more important than others.
In the face of danger that threatened their lives, morality and such were stripped away from their hypocritical facades.
Their true colors were shown and displayed as they didn't even find their selfishness disgusting but instead, tried to justify it in their hearts that if they didn't do that, they would have died.
A middle-aged man who was slightly ahead of the crowd was getting annoyed by the people in front of him. They hindered his escape route so after gritting his teeth, the middle-aged man grabbed the wrist of an old man who slowed the crowd.
"Old boomer, you have already lived long enough so end your life and die for our sake!"
Justifying his deeds, the middle-aged man then threw the old man to the back of the crowd.
It just so happened that after the old man landed at the back of the crowd and suffered heavy injuries due to his old body being slammed into the asphalt road, he couldn't get up and was about to be killed by an orc.
The three-foot muscular body of the green-skinned orc towered in front of the old man. With a long and huge wooden club in its hand, it raised the wooden club and slammed it towards the old man.
However, before the wooden club managed to reach a meter near the old man's body, the orc and the wooden club were suddenly diced into countless pieces.
The orc and the wooden club were obliterated into nothing but a mist of blood and some chunks of flesh.
"The world sure is dark, don't you agree?"
Before the old man could register the near-death experiences that had happened to him, the old man heard the masculine and magnetic voice of a teenager.
Faced with such a question, the old man subconsciously replied, "I'm too old for this."
"However, I might have deserved to die, but that young child didn't."
As someone who had expected inevitable death due to his old age, the old man was ready to accept his impending doom. That's why he didn't resent them for sacrificing himself since he knew that even if he didn't die today, he might die tomorrow.
After all, he was already a weak and old ordinary human. It was already his great luck that he had lived this long.
However, what he couldn't accept was those heartless bastards who had stomped a child to death and disregarded a child's life just to save theirs.
"Sigh, if only I was as powerful as you, I could have saved that child." The old man tiredly sighed as he looked at the beaten-up body of the child that lay lifelessly on the asphalt road.
Gazing back at the hordes of orcs and goblins that came out of the Dimensional Gate, the old man mustered all of the strength in his body to ignore his injuries just to sit up straight.
"In this dark world where humanity's true colors are shown and their ugly nature is justified by their hypocritical masks, only those with power can save themselves as well as others."
"You are in luck, old man. For I am someone who has that power."
The youthful yet mature masculine voice entered the old man's ears as he felt a palm pressed unto his back.
Afterward, the old man felt that the cells in his body seemed to be controlled by foreign energy. Then, his heavily injured body was restored to normal as his fractured and dislocated bones were set and connected back to their place.
In the Eyes of Good and Evil, the teenager could see that the old man was a good person.
Gazing at the stampeding crowd that had fled at a slightly far distance, most of them were seen through as "Neutral" while those who had stomped the child to death or the middle-aged man who had thrown the old man at the back of the crowd were deemed as "Evil".
Those who were deemed as "Evil" met the same demise as those orcs and goblins. They were sliced into countless pieces and their corpse became bits of flesh and pools of blood.
"Parasites like them who couldn't even contribute to modern society should just die."
The crowd who had escaped with those "Evil" humans were surprised and even screamed in fear after witnessing the death of someone close to them, literally.
The teenager ignored them and gazed back at the orcs and goblins that kept on coming out of the dimensional gate even after he had killed hundreds of them.
When the old man witnessed all of it, his restored healthy body granted him more than enough strength to stand up beside the teenager.
Instead of reprimanding the teenager for killing fellow humans, the old man asked, "May this old man know your name? I'll repay the benefactor's favor even if I have to do it in my next life."
In response to that, the teenager used his sword intent to kill all of the orcs and goblins before replying, "You don't have to repay it as I did all of this just because I can."
After killing the orcs and goblins and healing the old man, the teenager headed to the "corpse" of the young child and placed his hand on it.
With the power of cellular manipulation, the young child who was almost at death's door was restored to full health. The young child hadn't died as they had expected but he was only in a state of comatose.
Of course, that young boy would have died if he hadn't used his superpower to heal him back to full health.
When the old man witnessed the teenager give the young boy another chance to live, the old man sighed. Countless emotions welled up in his heart but he still wanted to insist on something but held back.
Seeing through the thoughts of the old man, the teenager with ebony black hair and crimson eyes introduced himself, "I am the Sword Saint, Alister Wright."
