Chapter 1051: Peace Was Never An Option [Part 4]
Countless Gargoyles merged together, forming over a dozen Golden Gargoyles, and blocked Ethan's path.
He was already familiar with how strong one of them was because he had already fought one in the Realm of Janvidr.
He couldn't possibly face twelve of them at once alone.
Fortunately, he wasn't alone.
"Sebastian, come!" Ethan threw the Sea God's Trident from his hand toward one of the Teleportation Gates.
The Sea God's Trident shone brightly for a few seconds, then a gigantic eight-headed Hydra emerged out of nowhere.
Sebastian, who had taken this huge form, unleashed a breath attack toward the teleportation gate, forcing the Golden Gargoyles to block them with their bodies.
The Golden Gargoyle that had taken the brunt of the attack exploded, while the other Golden Gargoyles received moderate injuries.
But that didn't stop them from attacking the Hydra, who was fighting tooth and nail against them.
'Ethan, lend me one of your clones,' Ethan's Other Half said.
Ethan didn't hesitate and summoned one of his clones. This clone then transformed into a handsome young man with a snake dangling from his body.
Ethan's Other Half immediately went to aid Sebastian, who was currently being swarmed by the Gargoyles and was cursing constantly in his heart.
The Clone that Ethan's Other Half had merged with was no longer an ordinary clone. It was as strong as Ethan and wouldn't be easily destroyed after receiving one hit.
Four chains wrapped around one of the Gargoyles and pulled it away.
A second later, a spiked wrecking ball smashed into its body as Professor Barret's Chained Paragon joined Ethan in his fight.
Wallace, Ethan's adoptive Father, had also joined the mission to destroy the Teleportation Gates.
All of them understood that if these gates were left open, the casualties within their army would grow as time went by.
"Dainsleif!" Ethan shouted, and the Ancient Wendigo appeared in front of Ethan to deal with the Golden Gargoyle that blocked his Master's path.
When the two monsters tangled with each other, Ethan flew past them and used Areadbhair to destroy the Teleportation Gate, rendering it useless.
The moment one of the Teleportation Gates was destroyed, Obelith, who was fighting Professor Rinehart, knew that he must stop the invaders from destroying them all.
However, his opponent was very stubborn, and wouldn't allow him to reinforce his people.
"I've had enough of you!" Obelith growled, as he clashed with Professor Rinehart repeatedly, aiming to shred him to pieces with his claws.
But, the Professor was not an easy opponent to defeat, and seemed to be well versed in long distance and close ranged battles.
However, Obelith also had plenty of experience dealing with Wizards and Witches. He knew their weakness, so he decided to put his plan into action.
As he attacked the Professor over, and over, he did a feint, which Professor Rinehart thought was an attack that was meant to cut his arm off.
However, at that moment, something grabbed his wand and yanked it away from his hand. "Hahaha! Foolish old man!" Obelith laughed as he waved his tail which had taken possession of Professor Rinehart's wand. "Now. Time for you to die!"
Ethan, who had just destroyed a Teleportation Gate, saw what was happening between Professor Rinehart, and Obelith, which made his eyes turn bloodshot with anger and anxiety. "Professor!" Ethan shouted as he canceled his plan in destroying another Teleportation Gate and flew as fast as he could toward Professor Rinehart.
However, he was simply too far, and he wouldn't be able to reach him in time.
"Die!" Obelith, who knew that this was the time to end his opponent, brandished his sharp claws to stab at the Professor's chest.
He could tell that the Old Man seemed to be some kind of leader from the opposing army.
The Gargoyle Emperor believed that as long as he killed the Professor, the morale of his enemies would plummet.
Seeing their close friend lose his wand, Professor Barret and Edmond sighed internally. 'Pitiful monster,' Professor Barret thought as he looked at Obelith, who seemed to be certain of his victory.
'Oh, you sweet summer child,' Edmond mused. 'You have no idea what you have done.' When Ethan was only halfway from his desperate flight to save the Professor, he saw the Headmaster of Brynhildr Academy raise his hand and clenched it into a fist.
He then punched out, letting his fist collide with Obelith's razor sharp claws, making the Gargoyle Emperor look at him in disdain.
A second later, a scream of pain reverberated in the battlefield, making everyone momentarily glance in the direction where it was coming from.
The Gargoyle Emperor's right hand had several cracks in it, making him hurriedly back away
due to fear and shock.
Professor Barret and Edmond exchanged a glance and smiled faintly at each other.
Only they knew that the Gargoyle Emperor had made a mistake by taking away Professor Rinehart's wand.
Unlike what everyone thought, losing his wand wasn't really a weakness.
On the contrary, Professor Rinehart's wand served more like a seal that prevented Rinehart Eques from unleashing his true ability.
"It's been decades since someone managed to take my wand away from me," Professor Rinehart said in an amused tone. "I have to thank you, really. It has been a while since I had a
good warm up."
Professor Rinehart then took a step forward and instantly appeared in front of the confused Gargoyle Emperor, who had no idea what was happening.
Perhaps due to his shock, he was unable to react to Professor Rinehart's punch that smashed into his chest, sending him crashing towards the ground.
However, the Professor had no intention of letting the Gargoyle hit the ground.
He instantly teleported in front of Obelith and kicked him upward, making Obelith groan in
pain.
A series of loud claps, similar to the roar of thunder, spread in the battlefield as Professor Rinehart beat the crap out of Obelith with his fists and feet.
Ethan, who had stopped mid-air, looked at this scene in disbelief.
For most wizards and witches, losing their wands in battle was equivalent to rendering them
powerless.
But this wasn't the case with Professor Rinehart, who had a rather peculiar Legacy.
This Legacy was called Might Over Magic, which made him incredibly strong the moment he was unable to wield a wand or use any form of magic.
Within the Shire Continent, Professor Rinehart held the title as the Strongest Wizard.
However, those who were close to him understood that his title of Strongest Wizard wasn't
really because of his powerful magic.
While Professor Rinehart was indeed a powerful Wizard, his true power appeared the momentNôv(el)B\\jnn
he stopped using magic.
Ethan watched in amazement as the Gargoyle Emperor screamed while being beaten like a ragdoll by the Headmaster of Brynhildr Academy, whose overwhelming might could obliterate a small mountain with a single punch.
The Gargoyles, who saw this scene, couldn't help but shudder because they were used to their Emperor beating others, not getting beaten in return.
Half a minute later, Ethan flew toward one of the Teleportation Gates with the intention of continuing his mission to destroy them all.
However, deep in his heart, he made a vow to not anger the usually calm Headmaster, whose might seemed to have no bounds.
What do you think?
