What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

Chapter 788: Settling Our Siren Problem After School

Lisa told me that she would be working on her plan to cuck Bracca, like I had expected she would, so I left her to deal with that.

Odeta was off to her usual practice and Delmare had her own lessons as well.

As for me, I decided to do some self study in the library. More specifically, I was looking for any information about Shadow Guards or maybe even Shadow Devourers in general.

I didn't even manage to win once against Eins at all yesterday but I learned quite a few things about my own skills from her so I saw it as a win.s

If it wasn't because of Odeta asking to spar with them, I might not have even realised this fact.

That's why I was in the school's library to see if I could find anything about them to give me a better idea of how I might be able to use them.

I was not really expecting to find anything to be honest, especially since it's most likely classified as forbidden knowledge or something with what I know about Shadow Guards…

Looking through the Umbramancy section of the library, I tried to see if there were any books that were related to the topic I was looking for.

Hmm… 'History of Umbramancy', 'Is Umbramancy Evil?', 'Using Shadow Summons For Sexual Relief: Masturbation or Sex?', 'The Dark Side Of Umbramancy'...

Doesn't seem like there's anything related to-- Oh wait!

'Expanding Your Shadow Summons'? Not exactly what I was looking for but it might have some related information I guess?

I took the book down from the shelf and opened it to a random page to see what was written on it.

Mmm… Theory on increasing the number of Shadow Summons… Oh this looks interesting?

'Normally one would only be able to summon a single Shadow Summon as it requires the caster's concentration to maintain its existence. But this means that if the Shadow Summon is able to maintain its own existence without the caster's will, it could be possible to summon more than one.'

Well no shit, this is like saying that if apples looked like oranges, it could be called an orange.

'There have been some theories on how this could be done including embedding Mana Crystals into the Shadow Summons in order to supply them with mana, but such attempts have ended in failure so far yet no one knows why.'

Well… I can make a guess that the Mana Crystals don't exactly give the Shadow Summons a 'will' to exist in the first place so that's kind of useless.

I say that but I also have no idea why I'm able to summon more than one either, even before the skill evolved into Shadow Guards.

Seeing that this part of the book was useless, I flipped forward a bit more to see what else was written.

'On further research, there were some records of people who have managed to summon more than one Shadow Summon. In some cases, it was said that they could even transform the Shadow Summon into other shapes and sizes. Unfortunately, none such people exist today and it is quite impossible to verify the authenticity of these records.'

Assuming that this isn't just made up, that means there could be other people who are like me and just keeping the skill a secret.

Seeing that this book seems to be quite old, I don't think the people mentioned in the book were Off-Worlders either so there might be a way to do it normally.

Anyway… This isn't really what I want to find out so I tried to flip to another page.

'...found in one of the ruins were records of how a single mage managed to summon an entire army of them and brought destruction upon an entire kingdom by himself. Many believe that this was merely just a cautionary tale and not an actual historical record.'

I flipped back a page to see if there were mentions about the location of the ruins, only to find that the page was missing. In fact, it looked like it had been hastily torn out.

I frowned at that, since the books here should be under the strictest protection so something like this should not have gone unnoticed.

The only possibility would be that the page was already missing when it was placed here, which was weird in the first place that they would accept a book with a missing page like this to be placed in the library like that…

Just as I was thinking if I should take this book to a teacher to ask about it, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching me.

Looking up, I realised it was Aeta, the girl who was obsessed with Delmare's singing.

At first I thought she was only here by coincidence but that possibility went out the window when she approached me deliberately.

She stopped just a short distance away from me before crossing her arms, "You."

I tilted my head, "Do you not know my name or you just refuse to say it?"

She ignored my question, "Meet me at the school gates after school."

"Err… Why?"

"Just do it."

"No thanks, I want to go home after school."

She scowled, "We're settling the issue with Delmare once and for all."

"What are you talking about? There was never any issue from the start? You were the one making it an issue. All you need to do is give up on her and the issue is resolved, right?"

Her brows furrowed deeper, "It's not that simple. You are not good enough for her."

Ok, I don't really want to sound arrogant but I really do think that I am good enough for her. And even if I wasn't, it's not for you to decide if the person herself had decided I was good enough for her, right?

I didn't say that out loud though because I was more curious about what gave her that idea in the first place.

"Why do you say that I am not good enough for her?"

"I've asked around today and I've come to realise that while she has always sung for you, you've done nothing for her in return. You are just leeching off of her."

I tapped a finger on the side of my cheek and thought about that for a moment.

Hmm… I guess there is some truth to that at least… I've asked the girls to help me with stuff and I've not given them anything in return for what they've done for me.

Heck, Katsuki has been with me for so long and I think the only thing I've given her is that comb I've received from completing that Dungeon.

At least it was something practical and I think she is still using it till today.

I should do something for all of them soon.

I nodded at her, "Good point. Thanks for telling me that, I'll make sure to get something for her to show my appreciation for her choosing to stay with me~"

That was obviously not the answer she was looking for because she got more angry after hearing that, "The fact that you even need someone to point that out to you is already proof that you are not good enough for her!"

"Let me guess… The only person who is good enough for her is you?"

I really didn't think she would admit it but she actually thumped her chest with pride, "Of course! I love her singing more than anyone else in this school so it's a given that I am better than you for being her partner!"

I narrowed my eyes at her, "Delmare isn't just a tool for singing. If you only like her just for her singing, you don't like her at all."

The girl waved her hand at me dismissively, "Say what you want, but if you really want to prove that you really are good enough for her, then meet with me after school. We will settle this."

Without waiting for my reply, she turned around and walked out of the library without a second glance back.

Ugh… I don't really want to go and honestly… She has no right to even butt in this thing in the first place…

But I have a feeling that if I don't settle this, she'll come back and things would get more troublesome not only for me but also for Delmare as well…

I guess if doing this would help both Delmare and I avoid more troubles with our school life down the road… I might as well just deal with this right here and now.

I'm also curious how she wanted to 'settle' this though? Does she want to debate me or is she just going for the old fashioned way of settling it with a fight?

Meh, I guess I'll deal with it when I meet her later.

In the meantime… Are there any other books about Shadow Summons in particular?
