Ji Yao on the other hand clearly felt something was seriously wrong but he couldn't necessarily put his finger on it. For a moment he was just staring at Rui Fei who had returned to normal in a flash. He knew this wasn't the right time to address this issue so he let it go for now.

Looking up to the crew members that were staring at him waiting for his orders he said, "We will set out tomorrow at dawn. It's not safe to pursue this matter tonight. As for you," as he turned to look at the overseer, "at this moment, I can't guarantee your daughter's safety neither can I risk my men to look for her."

Meanwhile, in the imperial palace, Emperor Rui who had been immersing himself in canal desires engaging in debauchery with multiple women was woken up by a soft knock at his door.

Around him were plenty of women both naked and half-clothed lying all over the room. Annoyed he opened his eyes and was met by a pink nipple brushing against his cheek.

Enraged he kicked the woman off his bed waking up the rest of the girls who had fallen asleep under the influence of the despicable drug laced on the incense stick Emperor Rui burnt all night. The terrified girls cowered in fright as the man stormed to the door while fixing his robe.

He kicked the door open and immediately strangled the poor eunuch pressing him hard against the wall. He glared at the eunuch with crazed eyes and said, "How dare you," in a tone so menacing the eunuch saw his pathetic life flash before his very eyes.

"This uh..... you-... your...maje, majesty. It's J-Ji Yao," said the eunuch essentially saving his own life. Emperor Rui let him go and the man came tumbling down with his back weakly leaning against the wall. He coughed incessantly with his hands on his throat. As he coughed a subtle amount of saliva seeped out of his mouth onto the floor.

With a look of disgust, Emperor Rui crouched down the belt of his robe loosening. His sturdy chest was exposed as the lapel of his robe opened wider. With his hair scattered messily on his chest, he smacked the eunuch's face a couple of times saying, "Speak..... Ji Yao what?"

After much difficulty, the man finally managed to speak and once Emperor Rui heard what he said, his eyes showed a hint of emotion. A malicious smile showed on his face as he slowly got up.

"Move the filth in my room to the dungeon and by the time I come back they should all be gone," he said before walking away. You would think since he was walking in the public areas of the imperial palace he would get dressed properly but he didn't. With his messy hair and exposed chest, he walked to his study in hurried footsteps.

Qilin Kai was already there but instead of sitting where he should, he had planted his ass on the seat Emperor Rui was meant to be sitting.

In his hand, he held the counterfeit keystone that Qilin Hao had swapped out with the real one. Rotating the counterfeit goods in between his fingers he said, "Took you long enough...."

Emperor Rui's brows furrowed when he saw his most prized possession being toyed around with. He always wore it around his neck like a pendant but when he was engaged in sexual activities he would take it off and kept it locked up in his study. This was because he didn't want to sully his mother's memory.

Now his most precious thing was in Qilin Kai's hands, how could he not be anxious. "Give it back," he said through gritted teeth and for the first time he bore his fangs at this partner of his.

Qilin Kai's fingers froze with the keystone dangerously lingering at the edge of his knuckles. His eyes slowly gazed up at him for a moment before a malicious grin appeared at the corner of his mouth.

Emperor Rui instantly had a bad premonition. He rushed forward shooting forth beams of white light shaped like daggers towards Qilin Kai but he was nothing compared to this pure blood.

Qilin Kai simply snapped his fingers and the pointed beams of light abruptly stopped midair before they slowly turned around and aimed at Emperor Rui.

Qilin Kai was obviously threatening him but instead of the expected fear Emperor Rui still wore that poisonous expression with demonic eyes like he was about to tear him to pieces. Surrounding him was an aura dark enough to arouse Qilin Kai's interest.

The wicked smile on Qilin Kai's face grew wider as he tilted his finger slightly and the keystone wobbled as though losing balance. He wanted to see what this weak chicken would do so he tested the boundaries. He could have simply told him that the keystone in his possession was counterfeit but toying with this emperor was much more interesting.

In a swift move, he slightly tossed the keystone in the air and grabbed it before harshly throwing it on the ground. Emperor Rui had already reacted but his speed was still so slow. Before he reached Qilin Kai his neck was strangled by an invisible force and he helplessly watched as the keystone was shattered to pieces.

The fierceness in his eyes suddenly melted replaced by a distraught expression, an expression never seen on Emperor Rui's face before. He was being restrained but he kept on trying to move reaching out with his hand to pick up the only precious thing his mother left for him.

The veins on his forehead and neck were throbbing and distinct with his face red from being strangled but he didn't care. All he was thinking was getting his keystone back. Images of his mother slowly climbing up the chair while smiling at him flashed before his eyes.

Little Rui was tightly holding the pendant in his little hand still not understanding why his mother was crying and smiling at the same time while getting on a chair. His father was also standing there watching his mother with a cold look.

But when little Rui saw his mother put that white sheet around her neck and kick that chair he knew something was wrong. He began to try and pull his mother down but it only made things worse. He begged his father for help but the man only watched coldly with no care.

That is the day the cheerful little Rui vanished. He had lost everything and all he had left was this keystone. Now even that was broken. Overwhelmed by his emotions a sudden darkness spread like a disease all over his body and his pupils turned black. Calamity was unleashed and Qilin Kai bore the consequences.. He finally understood the concept 'never fuck with the crazy'.
