Chapter 190 190. TRANSFORMATION
An astonished expression shone one Noah's face at the words the systems prompt contained.
An incredible thirty percent of his soul stats had been shaved off, permanently.
Although the issue remained important, he needed to find a way to not lose consciousness.
Noah's entire soul realm trembled violently at the sudden emptiness of a portion of its landmass.
His island immediately began to reshape itself in order to accommodate the missing portions, but there was only so much it could do.
Noah felt Intense jolts of pain ravage his mind, and he suddenly found himself trapped within his own mind. The whiteness of his soul realm also seemed to dim, further causing more pain.
The immense black box far above his island, lay without so much as a tremble, and Noah wondered if touching it would do something.
His soul of sorts began its flight towards the systems material, however at a particular point almost halfway there, an equally immense transparent barrier appeared before him stopping his ascension.
Noah had gotten desperate at this point, chunks of his island had begun to fall off, dispersing into the immense bottomless pit that was that environment.
"Give me something! Anything!" Noah cried out when a large crack began to find its way across his island's 5 kilometer radius.
Noah felt his consciousness experience a sort of glitch at that sight, and his whole figure seemed to stretch downwards, crashing into his island.
Unfathomable pain blinded Noah's very consciousness, as blackness began to spread around him.
No thoughts flowed through Noah's mind at this juncture, more cracks beginning to spread on his island, as chaos continued to reign supreme.
A crack eventually appeared on his black soul core, and beams of multicolored lights flooded out of its insides. Noah immediately lost the tiny consciousness he had left, and the whiteness of his soul realm continued to darken.
However, being a part of the Speedling race and having access to rank 2 essence, Noah had a few more privileges available to him, even if he remained far from being a complete speedling.
The essence within his black core churned violently, before bursting forth; flowing into that separate realm.
Seeing the damage Noah's soul core suffered, that mass of energy seemed to wail, before shooting forward.
Unlike the normal empowerment the speed forces's energy applied to his mind, this process remained something completely different.
Noah's soul island saw a not-so foreign energy engulf its surface. His essence core almost emptied itself at that action, but 10,000 SE points remained.
The liquid-like essence which stood at the second rank of the speed forces's purity, shone in that environment as a transformation occured within that cocoon of sorts.
The liquid essence began the process of merging with the islands remaining mass after stabilizing it.
Multiple hour's passed as this seemingly simple but Incredibly fragile operation occured, but there seemed to be no end to it yet.
More hours passed, and Noah's soul island saw the bright yellow light enveloping its surface, die down. Revealing the deep yellow landamasses that filled the spots of its formerly empty land-areas.
The only thing that remained relatively unchanged was his black core, which the essence had only empowered to allow it heal itself.
The process eventually ended, but not an ounce of essence utilized remained unused.
A whole day had passed at this point, but it wasn't until another day went by; did Noah regain his consciousness.
A groan escaped Noah's mouth as he rolled on the marble-like surface of his cultivation room.
He had experienced a sharp headache immediately he lifted his eyelids, but that sensation had vanished as fast as it appeared.
'What happened,' Noah thought; trying to recollect the events that had occured before he lost consciousness.
A series of images flooded his mind at his will, and he couldn't help but hold his breath in fear. The transformation hadn't been recorded, so he remained unsure of the state of his soul realm.
Pulling his consciousness into his head, Noah felt his ethereal feet land on a solid surface.
He immediately laid eyes on the shocking scene of yellow of a series of yellow portions of his completely stable island.
Noah's consciousness soon floated upwards to gain, an overhead view of his island, and the results left him even more astonished.
His island had undergone a drastic change both cosmetically and qualitatively. And he could also sense speed essence all around him!
At seemingly random positions of that island, mostly its edge's; were yellow pieces of solid ground, which he could sense was made of the speed forces's energy.
Realizing that he had lost complete control over the essence that made those strange lands, Noah wondered how something like that was even possible.
Surprisingly, there were small ponds of rank 2 speed essence, and just staring at them caused a weird feeling to well Inside him.
They had become apart of his island, but he didn't find any use for them. Their presence seemingly just for the beautification of that special environment.
The same couldn't be said for the solid portion of the speed essence though.
He understood that his mind had gotten far sturdier than before, even if his island had shrunk to about half its former size.
He could already understand that increasing the strength of his mind would become a chore since the quality of that vessel had increased, translating to an increase in requirements.
"This is both a patch, and a complete change," Noah muttered still Inspecting the yellow landmasses.
Cultivating his mind would give birth to the normal land, which meant the yellow shades would either get overwhelmed, or they would eventually become end up only in the middle of his island.
Exiting his soul realm after over an hour of exploration, Noah sat down to refill his core.
It felt scary to see that his mind had needed that much energy to reach a stable state.
'If i'd done this two weeks ago, i would be dead,' Noah affirmed. A shiver inevitably running through his sturdy spine.
'Maybe the new purity rank was a reason this could we happen. As far as I know the rank 1 essence could only empower my mind nothing else,' he thought while his chest rose and fell rythmically.
'There might be a change to my body too,' he thought. A tinge of excitement welling up in his heart.
'But i should gain more knowledge about the vessels of power before undergoing any such operations. I'm alive only because of the energy i use,' Noah concluded.
Although a slight weakness still filled his mind, it remained almost un-noticeable.
The backlash of the berserk skill had made him feel more weak, even though he did his best to look okay in front of his then audience.
Noah refilled his core and tried to cultivate his mind, but nothing happened. It wouldn't expand even after three hours. And he eventually gave up.
His soul stats had experienced a 10% drop instead of 30, which meant the speed essence had done a great job in its addition of solid grounds.
Noah stayed Inside his cultivation room reviewing Aiden's memories after the unproductive training session.
He learnt a lot he didn't know about the humans of that world, but even that didn't feel enough.
"I'll gain more knowledge when I become a member of the great guild," Noah muttered standing up.
The time left for the meeting at the Divine Lightning guild branch, only remained a day, his seclusion had come to an end.
After a meal which was the last edible supplies he had, Noah immediately decided on spending the remaining day buying food.
A white light soon covered his now clothed body and he disappeared from that white room.
Unknown to Noah, deep within his soul core an even more significant process of transformation had begun. A power that he'd be unable to utilize until the time was right.
