Chapter 246 Combination (2)
"Are you planning to use that combination to kill the bosses?" Lana asked. "If you combine your skills, maybe you can cause ten thousand points of damage against a single target, but the enemies have more than that. So, it won't be enough to defeat all of them in a single strike."
"It seems you are learning to be careful," Jake said. "Anyway, what is your best spell right now? Instead of trying to kill one of them at a time, we should try to cause as much damage as possible in a single area. The bosses are pretty close to each other, so that will work. The only issue is the small fries."
"If I use all my mana, I can fire a fireball that can create an explosion of twenty meters radius," Louise replied.
"How long do you need to concentrate on that?" Jake asked. "Have you tried using mana potions while casting the spell?"
"No… it usually is enough to use all my mana against the bosses or a large number of enemies," Louise replied. "We didn't need to think of that."
Jake thought that it was only natural. Louise had stupid high magic power. The only downside was that she couldn't move while she focused on stealing the mana from the targets. In any case, they will need even more magic power for that plan to work. Jake wanted to kill at least five of the bosses on the first strike, and it would be better if they killed more in order not to force him to draw his sword.
"I will warn the other parties that we are about to do something big," Lana said. "They should get ready to help since they are also going to benefit from this."
She had a point, but Jake wondered how they would react to that… in any case, showing his skills like that was no longer a problem for Jake. However, he still felt a bit more bothered since the audience was bigger than usual.
Jake felt that the previous day had been pretty calm when it came to hunting… even though he started it with an ambush and then a massive cut on his torso. Still, it felt pretty calm since he only used his dark flames. However, this day had been even more relaxing. Just a couple of hours had passed since they began to work together, but Jake felt a lot more relaxed than before. Working with those guys wasn't bad… unlike the guild masters. They didn't pass to Jake annoying vibes… If only they were a bit smarter… then they would have thought of creating their own guild, one that would be certain that would have members be exploited for unknown reasons.
Honestly, Jake wouldn't mind joining a guild that they might make, but he would never say that out loud. He was too prideful for that… Considering how he was being targeted by the criminals, perhaps he would delay that. Still, he definitely wouldn't mind in any other situation.
"Once everything is ready, what will be the plan?" Karina asked.
"You should ask your party leaders," Jake replied.
"... Let's wait until Lana returns for us to decide that," Louise replied after thinking for a short while.
When Lana returned, they talked while the other parties were organizing themselves. It seemed that they thought that Lana and his group wouldn't be able to achieve much… even though they had already wiped the monsters on the left side of the mountain. Nevertheless, the plan was simple. Depending on how bosses survive, their strategy would change. Jake was pretty certain that at least three of the monsters would die on the impact, and the others would be heavily wounded. So, they would focus on targetting the wounded ones. While trying to hold back on the physical effort, Jake would use his shield since he probably won't be able to use his dark flames for a while. Since he had excellent mobility with Flash, he would be the bait, and the others would wait for opportunities to attack and cover the backline as well.
"I think this plan is way too simple…" Karina said.
"It is fine. We will need to make decisions in the split of a second," Lana said. "If we think too much about possible scenarios, we will get stuck on them and become unable to react on time."
"I feel like I said those words before…" Jake said.
"It must have been your imagination," Lana shrugged. "Anyway, ready when you are."
Louise nodded and then began to create her Fireball. Jake waited for a while until Lana started to use mana options on her friend and the snow around them began to melt. Once that happened, he made his flames envelop the sphere of fire that was still increasing. Although Jake could make the interior of the flames empty for the red flames to grow. He still felt the mental exhaustion when the sphere had twenty meters of radius. He had never used the dark flames that much, after all.
Nevertheless, eventually, Louise began to tremble since she had reached her limits. Jake couldn't contain the flames any longer, so he let it go at the same time as Louise's fire.
The massive fireball not only melted all the snow around and in its path, but it also created a path of lava in mere moments. All of a sudden, the massive Fireball hit the boss, which was right in the middle of the formation and in front of the entrance of the dungeon. The creature was turned into charcoal, and the impact made the flames spread around. In the blink of an eye, hundreds of monsters were enveloped by the flames and began to be consumed.

Jake thought that killing five would be enough, and perhaps he would be expecting too much, but it seemed that his guess was wrong…
