Chapter 623 Surprise...
Dilan didn't expect the surprise attack, let alone that it would be focused on him.
But he was quite happy that the Apostles used their surprise attack to eliminate him rather than anyone else.
He might have lost his head for a moment, quite literally, but it took him only ten seconds to come back.
That was much longer than he would have taken under normal circumstances, however, there was nothing he could do about it.
His True Undying Essence hadn't been activated, he didn't expect that his mastery of Astral Projection had become so weak and fickle, or that the control of his body had become useless after he lost his head.
It was quite obvious that he would need some more training when everything was over, but Dilan was not able to think about training, exercising or anything like that at this moment.
The only thing that flashed through his head was rage, uncontrollable rage.
Siegfried was lying in front of him, coughing up blood, unable to move his body, Kathrine had thrown her body over the youngest, and the skin and flesh of her back completely disappeared, revealing her entire spine.
Rory was standing strong in front of everyone, her body covered with car-sized holes, gallons of blood pouring out of her every second. One of her horns was missing and a huge hole had crushed parts of her skull, revealing her brain.
Yvonne's Army of the Undead had been summoned but they were motionless, unable to move a single inch.
Blood poured out of Yvonne's eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, but her gaze was filled with determination, darting in the direction on Dilan's left.
On his left, Dilan could see Sven, Williams, and the others. They were several injured, bleeding from all over their body. Dilan couldn't see a single spot that was not drenched in blood.
Dilan didn't know what exactly happened in the last ten seconds but it happened fast and it had been extremely deadly.
His eyes turned crimson, he activated the Mystic Eyes and it took him only a moment to find the culprits for everything.
The Apostles were standing at the top of the mountain. They looked down on their burning settlement and rage filled their entire being.
The Orc Apostles wanted to take revenge…and they did. They killed the strongest of the perpetrators, who had attacked their settlement and it was only a matter of time before the others would fall as well. Three of them were already on the verge of dying, either way.
"I made a big mistake…I shouldn't have underestimated you just because you guys were only Demi Gods…" Dilan mumbled to himself.
His expression changed and he took a deep breath as he released every bit of his mana, altered with the traits of purification, and nature. He turned his life force into mana, altered it again, and released more and more mana.
Dilan's life force was replenished in an instant but he continued to repeat the process a few more times. His life would turn into mana that would then be used to heal the others and help them to preserve their lives.
In a single second, Dilan repeated the same procedure ten times before he turned to Rory, whose body was healing rapidly. She had been the worst injured but she would also be the one, who would be fully healed.
Even her skull would regrow, let alone her organs, flesh, scales, and even her horn.
"Take them away once you feel better. This will get a little bit ugly." Dilan said, his voice seemingly calm and composed.
However, looking in his eyes, one could clearly see that his insides were burning with uncontrollable anger and wrath.
"But…" Rory could merely say, weakly and on the verge of collapsing. Despite healing rapidly, her body was still not accustomed to missing parts of her skull, and more than ten huge holes in her body. Two holes were even as big as a small vehicle!
"Stay quiet and heal properly. I will take care of the rest. Playtime is over…" Dilan said while mana oozed out of every pore of his body.
A tremendous amount of mana swirled toward him from the surroundings and Dilan devoured it by linking his mana to it. His presence changed slowly as he took the first step away from his group.
He looked deep in the eyes of the 12 Apostles, who were located far away from him. When Dilan took the second step, his bloodlust and killing intent gushed uncontrollably out of his body.
The air around got heavy, the ground cracked open and a bloody red hue filled Dilan's surroundings. The hue spread all over the settlement, it eradicated the lives of those who had been hiding, only to leave out Dilan's comrades.
None of them was affected by the tremendous killing intent and his bloodlust that intensified further as he took another step. Dilan didn't hold back anymore. The killing intent that had been created by facing death hundreds of thousands of times burst forth. It reached the twelve Orc Apostles, who had stopped their attacks for a few seconds.
They didn't understand how Dilan was still alive, let alone how someone at the lowest point of the fourth Tier was able to exhibit such terrifying killing intent.
It was almost…almost as if the Great War God took a glance at them. But that was not possible, or it shouldn't…
Dilan looked coldly at the 12 Orc Apostles, he exhaled deeply and bend down with his entire body. His ankles burst open, the Zephyr Step movement technique fully unleashed. A thunderous sound erupted from his feet as electricity currents emerged from his feet and the muscles all over his lower body bulged.
"You've chosen the wrong person to fuck with!" Dilan shouted out loud before he turned into flesh that shot straight toward the Apostles.
The Apostles could barely follow Dilan's speed, but they reacted quickly, preparing for the moment of impact.
However, it was just a quarter of a second later that Dilan appeared above the tallest of the twelve Apostles.
"Above you, ugly bastard!"
