Chapter 247: Second Region of Chaosverse, Doombound City
Chapter 247: Second Region of Chaosverse, Doombound City
[I've edited the previous chapter's ending. You will understand as you read ahead about Aleron's stats.]
Aleron arrived in the mountain's top section where Branch Master Lilisa's palace was located and entered.
Lilisa was sitting on a chair behind her table, her chin resting on the back of her hand. "I saw your appearance in the mirror when you came here, but this...what happened to you?"
"You look considerably different. Did you just decide to change your physique?"
"Yep. I thought it was time to up my appearance," Aleron grinned.
It was strange for one to keep their appearance however they wanted, especially for Unbound-rank.
Since Unbound-rank had completed path convergence, they could alter their physical age and appearance freely and very naturally. However, the eyes, hair, and familiarity of their face wouldn't change unless they did something like magic plastic surgery.
"Your appearance aside, that's a pleasant progress you've got there," Lilisa smiled. "Your Arcane power directly reached above 500 because of your level 5 Magic Zone, causing your Trinity Force to average out at a higher number. There's no other Unbound-rank like you at the moment."
Aleron smiled, "Thanks."
'I wonder what her reaction would be if she finds my real stats.'
"We are departing tomorrow. It's time to settle you in the second region of the Chaosverse now that you are an Unbound rank."
"Luna and Kira will be coming with me," Aleron said as he stared at her. "Right?"
"Of course," Lilisa dimissingly waved her hand while smiling. "I've transferred their slave status' owner to you."
Aleron frowned, "I can remove that status, right?"
"If you want to, yeah. Do you want to do it now?"
"Sure."
Lilisa took out a card and activated it as she contacted someone and spoke some words before putting the card back.
"It'll be done in a minute."
"Thanks."
"Now, let's talk about the event. Basically, it's a special dungeon event for Unbound-rank lifeforms. Special dungeons are rare as they appear once a year or two only in each region." "First region spawns special dungeons for Paragon-rank, second region spawns special dungeons for Unbound-rank, and so on until the fifth region, which spawns a special nightmare dungeon that only peak Supreme-rank powerhouses clear, and that too with a fifty-fifty chance of success."
"Interesting," Aleron blinked. "So I am going to enter that special dungeon for Unbound- rank?"
"Yep. The people allowed to enter this dungeon are limited. This one has a limit of 100. Whether the dungeon is cleared or not, it disappears within a year or when 100 people have entered inside."
Lilisa smiled, "The alliance had already announced that it would send a group of 100 people after three months, which is why I had you hurry for the breakthrough."
"I see," Aleron nodded.
"Entry is after 18 days, and 100 people are already selected. The selection process was over one month ago."
"Eh? Does that mean I am not selected?" Aleron raised an eyebrow. "Don't tell me I have to fight for a spot?"
"Exactly. Well, this is easy for you because you are the most powerful Unbound rank among them. The only thing you are lacking is Innate Gears, but I have prepared them for you. You'll get them once we arrive at the second region's city."
"Cool," Aleron chuckled. "Thanks."
Well, he had a gacha banner that could summon Innate Gears, so he didn't lack those, though it was true that he only had two Innate Gears in his body.
Anymore would arise suspicious because it was generally impossible for a newbie ascender to have Innate Gears quipped in all six slots of the body.
"Go and prepare whatever you want. The ship will be hovering above your house after 24 hours."
...
Aleron left the city and contacted the guild, which was named [Path Guild].
He summoned 10 Symbios Gears for the guild to spark further competition.
At the moment, Darzax and others were leading figures, considered Executives of the guild.
The Symbios Gears wouldn't be given to just anyone but to those who contribute most and become stronger faster.
Aleron told them to hold a tournament regarding that and give out three Symbios Gears first to the top 3.
Once he finished meeting with the Executives and told them he was going to the second region, he returned to his home.
There wasn't much to prepare in the first place.
The morning arrived and the flying ship flew there, hovering above the castle.
Aleron, Enorin, Rias, Yueha, Mei, Ruan, Liang, Shelby, Luna, and Kira flew up and boarded the ship before it shortly departed.
Their journey to the second region was going to be three days long, uninterrupted.
The group just did meditation training while any outside troubles from chaotic phenomena or chaotic beasts were solved by Lilisa who was moving the ship.
Three days later, they arrived before a huge wall of darkness that perpetually extended
upward, left, and right side seemingly infinitely.
The ship paused there as Lilisa gathered everyone on the deck.
"The divide here won't be kind to us, and especially you girls who are still in Paragon rank. The external troubles will be solved by me, but you will get mental and soul attacks, so you'll have to endure them until we cross the patch of darkness."
Aside from Aleron and Shelby, everyone was still in Paragon rank, so they were bound to get
some challenges.
But this was also an opportunity because enduring the path of darkness within the great divide would actually refine their souls, increasing their soul power.
And everyone was ready to focus and grasp this opportunity.
The ship began moving after a minute and entered the wall of darkness.
It was 10 kilometers long, but the Great Divides were mysterious areas that allowed everything to move at its absolute pace.
The ship's speed was locked at 1 kilometer per minute and everyone inside would face special chaotic attacks of both physical and ethereal ones that directly affected one's soul and mind.
This was considered a kind of test as only those who endured were allowed to pass through it
and go to the next region.
Losing consciousness inside would result in instant expulsion, returning to the first region, and this would also result in damage to the soul.
The ship moved while various kinds of colorful attacks within the realm of Paragon-rank started hurling at the ship, according to the number of people.
Lilisa and Shelby created barriers that rendered all those attacks useless, so others didn't have
to worry about those.
But then came the focused ethereal attacks, directly entering everyone's mind.
Aleron didn't have a problem with this as he easily dealt with them.
However, the girls were frozen in battle occurring with their sea of consciousness.
The ship continued to move while the girls continued to struggle and fight off, their souls
getting refinement at each attack they managed to resist.
A minute seemed like an hour to them, but they lost track of time in this battle, ten minutes eventually passed by with everyone remaining conscious.
Kira held out only until the end. The moment they emerged from the darkness and welcomed the colorful and lively atmosphere of the second region's starting area, she fainted, entering a
slumber.
"Good job," Lilisa looked at the girls with surprise. "It seems you didn't just collectn/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
beauties."
She frankly expected most of them to expel, but these girls turned out to be more tough than
she thought.
"Of course, they are my women," Aleron chuckled.
The girls had different reactions, some smiling, some slightly blushing, but they were exhausted, so that made a slightly comedic scene. Sitting in meditation, they focused on resting and recovering, settling their surged souls.
"We'll still need two days to reach the city, so rest and relax back into the room." "Alright," Aleron nodded with a grin and snapped his finger, teleporting everyone to the
room.
...
Second Region of Choasverse, Doombound City.
In terms of size, it was bigger than the Desolate City, spanning around a thousand kilometers
in radius. This was the protected area designated by Chaosverse like the Desolate City as no Chaotic Phenomenon or Choatic Beasts would spawn inside.
The tax was higher, becoming 20 Chaos stones per head per day without owning or becoming
part of a territory. But otherwise, it was 20 per month.
The biome diversity in this city was way higher than in Desolate City.
One could find lavatic areas, areas covered in frost, high mountains, flowing rivers, hills, and
all kinds of biomes.
Proper Path Alliance's territory was in the northwest, once again a big mountain that had
various structures built on it. The only difference was that this mountain was bigger than the
mountain in the Desolate City.
The nearby territory of a hill highland was also there, roughly spanning 10 kilometers. There were huge colosseum-like structures and other small structures there.
"You'll fight someone in that colosseum to snatch their spot," Lilisa said with a smile. "And
I've already decided on a target for you. That brat is selected by someone in the Alliance I
don't like, so he's going down."
Aleron wryly smiled, "Alright."
"But for now, we are going to your new home on that mountain."
They soon arrived at a rather large green ground with a streaming river flowing through it and
a bunch of beautiful houses built.
The ship flew towards the best house, which was basically a mansion in this area, but they
were stopped by two guards, making Lilisa frown.
"Why is that mansion occupied?" Lilisa asked with a cold expression.
The guards were nervous and didn't say anything as if waiting for someone.
Lilisa also knew about that as her eyes glinted, "Better show yourself before I make a mess
here."
"Geez, you're the same as always."
A rather slim with green hair, wearing a red suit and a red hat suddenly arrived before the
ship.
"What's the meaning of that, Clown? I said my candidate is the strongest and I've reserved that building."
"Well, your words are not that important, you know? And don't call me, clown. I am Sid Meyfil, the one who defeated your sorry ass if you've forgotten about it," Sid sneered.
