Anyone who saw that photo would have had no doubt that they were lovers.
Qi Chengzhi looked at Song Yu gloomily and let out a weird laugh. “Hehe!”
Song Yu was speechless.
She was even beginning to wonder how long ago it was since the photo album first came into existence and why there were so many pictures of herself with Jian Yi.
Qi Chengzhi proceeded to flip another page. It was a photo of Song Yu during her high school graduation. Laying against her chest was her hair, done in a thick braid.
Jian Yi was wearing a suit and had the maturity of a working man. His striking good looks put all the high school kids in the background to shame. At that time, many girls probably had crushes on him.
He stood beside Song Yu in the picture, and the two of them smiled at each other while Song Yu’s arm was wrapped around his.
Her smile was very sweet. Both her eyes formed a crescent moon shape, with Jian Yi being the sole person that her eyes could see.
Jian Yi’s gaze meanwhile, was gentle, and he was smiling warmly at her. The way they stood together and looked at each other was reminiscent of a loving young couple.
Qi Chengzhi looked at Song Yu mockingly. “Hehe, you took plenty of photos with him. Seems like your relationship with him was pretty good!”
“...” Song Yu grabbed the album from him and took out the photo of her and Jian Yi. She then flipped to the front and removed the rest of the photos she had taken with him.
“These are all old photos. I’ve never looked at them anymore after putting them inside the box. You can see how dusty the covers are. I’ve long forgotten these photos,” Song Yu explained. Her brain began to feel numb due to Qi Chengzhi’s stares. “I’ll throw them away.”
“If there’s nothing wrong, just keep them in here. You’re not feeling guilty, right? Why throw them away?” Qi Chengzhi took back the photo album and saw that it was empty where the photographs used to be. Song Yu had taken them out.
He continued browsing through.
“Qi Chengzhi, can you please talk normally?” Song Yu’s patience was wearing thin and she got angry. She had earlier tried to coax him lovingly, but he simply insisted on riling her up.
Song Yu took the album away from him and shut it. “These are all old photos and I really did forget about them. It’s not like I kept them on purpose. Was it really worth it to be all weird about it?”
Qi Chengzhi did not take the album from her again. He looked at Song Yu and narrowed his eyes suddenly.
It had been a long time since he had actually looked at her like that, and Song Yu had forgotten how frightening that expression was. Listlessness began coming over her as soon as his expression manifested. She wanted to sweet-talk him but chose to hold in her words, even though they were already on the brink of escaping her mouth.
She had conceded to him far too often and she wanted to put an end to that. There was nothing wrong in what she did, so she huffed angrily and moved to get off the bed.
“Where are you going?” Qi Chengzhi asked. He held her waist, turned her so she faced him, and pressed her into his embrace. “You’re the one who kept pictures of an ex-lover, and now you’re saying I can’t bring it up?”
Most of the time, he did not hold grudges, but because of Jian Yi’s help and protection the day before, he felt disgusted. More so, when he thought about how Jian Yi held her hand and brought her away.
If only he came into her life earlier! Jian Yi wouldn’t have happened at all!
“What do you mean ex-lover? You’re just trying to pick a fight! You’re so petty! He and I have never even started a relationship! How can you call us lovers?!” Song Yu was so angry that she began pushing hard on his chest. Alas, she could not nudge herself free.
His hands encircled her and made sure that she was wrapped tightly in his embrace.
With a sour face, Qi Chengzhi narrowed his eyes and took a swipe at her. “Oh right, not lovers. You’re the one that’s secretly in love with him.”
“Qi Chengzhi, there’s no end to it, is there? You’re finding fault when there’s none! On purpose!” What a sweet and beautiful day it could have been after registering their marriage, but it hardly occurred to her that he would be nitpicking, of all things.
“The only reason I liked him was that I thought he was the one who saved me from drowning! Ever since I’m with you, I’ve never liked him anymore! I don’t even have the time to be bothered about him! What are you trying to dig up? These are just some old pictures that I’ve long forgotten! Just you wait! Don’t let me find out that you had an ex-lover!” Song Yu was so angry that her face was red. Her eyes were crimson too, not because she cried, but because she was in a flying rage.
She tried pushing Qi Chengzhi, and despite failing to get him to budge, she was still adamant on shoving him away.
“What are you talking about? Where can I find this ex-lover?” Qi Chengzhi uttered in a deep voice.
“Let go of me!” Song Yu’s temper was flaring, but she kept her eyes on his chest for fear that her anger would wane at the sight of his face.
“Don’t fuss.” He hugged her and crooned softly. His weirdness and sarcasm were all but gone.
“Who’s the one that’s making a fuss?” He hugged her so tightly that she could neither move nor push herself free. She glared at him suddenly and said, “Qi Chengzhi, what are you doing!”
His grip on her was so firm that she could not budge at all. Soon enough, she felt his hand opening her shirt and feeling her up, covering her entire breast completely.
She bent her arm due to the way he pressed her, and it just so happened that it pressed down on his hand under her shirt. It made it seem like she was the one who was making sure that his hand was pressed on his breast.
Song Yu’s face was scorching hot, and when his lips came into contact with her cheek, she felt even more heated up.
She tried wiggling away. “I’m angry! You can’t do this!”
“Let’s call a truce and stop arguing,” he persuaded. His voice was husky and he was kissing every inch of her face.
“Get up!” Song Yu pushed him again. “Didn’t you accuse me just now? Don’t you dare sweep this under the rug. I forbid you from touching me if we haven’t set the record straight.”
“Shh!” His voice was soft yet hoarse. “Stop arguing.”
“I’m not ar...nggh...” Before she could even finish her sentence, he kissed her with all his might. Other than her nasal ‘mms’, no other sound was produced.
His kisses were so ardent that it did not take long for her to stop struggling and submit herself to him.
Song Yu felt her whole body heat up. Then, she could feel his hands entering her pants.
She closed her eyes in a daze and inhaled sharply before he entered her.
Song Yu latched on to his shoulder and trembled as he grinded her. A drunk redness emerged on her cheek.
Qi Chengzhi hugged her tightly with his arms and kissed her. He had practically lifted her entire body off of the bed.
Her clingy and submissive manner was exactly what he enjoyed.
He held her hand and kissed each finger gently, then placed it on his abdomen and slid it down to his nether regions.
Song Yu’s fingertips came into contact with his smooth body. It was so warm that she intuitively tried retracting her hand. Nothing came of it, however, because he was grasping her so firmly that she could not move away.
With his every thrust he ensured that his shaft was being rubbed by her supple fingers. He became more and more aroused, until it reached a point where his fire could no longer be quelled.
...
...
“These two children. Hiding away inside the room for so long. What are they doing inside!” Song Donglin had finished cleaning things up, but he saw no sign of the couple. His complaint came after noticing that Song Yu’s door was shut tightly.
“Now that they’re officially married, what else do you think they’ll be doing all alone in the room?” Yu Qianying remarked irritably because she still had to point out the obvious to Song Donglin.
Song Donglin coughed awkwardly and heard a sudden thump coming from the room. The noise seemed to have been produced by something falling onto the ground.
Qi Chengzhi did not expect that Song Yu would kick him off the bed without warning.
They were both still amicable earlier. It delighted him to see her dazed look and half-closed eyes. Every part of her body—from her eyes and lips, to her breast and tummy—was so irresistible to him that he wanted to kiss her everywhere.
He had carried her onto his lap, and all of a sudden, his erection slid into her. At that very instant, Song Yu’s expression was that of a person whose soul had left the body—it was a look that Qi Chengzhi would never forget.
Her eyes—distinctly monochrome and seemingly stupefied—opened wide. A distinct look of ecstasy was present on her face, and her cheek was tinged with a drunken blush. The redness began spreading from the top of her head to the tips of her toes.
Not long later, she snuggled into him helplessly and obediently. Her flush was very noticeable when he lowered his gaze and looked at her forehead.
He felt a disorienting warmth in his heart, and his affection for her was so overwhelming that he kissed her forehead, eyes, and nose, before letting her lie back down.
He wanted to give her another kiss once he saw her fluttering her eyebrows, but it came as a complete surprise when Song Yu gave him the kick.
Since he was still inside of her, the kick made his rod slide out.
It caught him by surprise and he fell flat onto the hard floor, leaving him in a bit of pain.
“Qi Chengzhi! I’m still angry! How could you just...just...drag me into doing it with you. I’ve had it with you!” Song Yu threw a pillow at him. “Don’t think about coming into the bedroom tonight!”
Qi Chengzhi was no longer angry. His face turned affectionate, while his eyes looked so tender water could probably be wrung out of them. Song Yu looked at him and felt goosebumps forming all over her body.
He still had his shirt and pants on, although his pants zipper was undone and his shirttails were jutting out from his pants. He may be untidy and messy-looking, but he looked sexy even in such a state.
Song Yu was still mad at him, but the thought of ripping his clothes open still popped up in her mind.
Qi Chengzhi got up from the floor and climbed lazily into the bed. Ignoring the fact that Song Yu was still livid, he hugged her tightly and made her unable to let go.
“I was wrong for being petty. Don’t be angry,” he persuaded her as gently as possible. His mellow voice was sexy because the arousal heightened his perception, turning his voice huskier and sexier. His low voice rang beside her ear, and his thin lips even brushed lightly against her earlobe. Song Yu’s ears turned red, and she began trembling uncontrollably.
Like an electric current, his voice coursed through her heart, making her dizzyingly numb.
“You were purposely trying to get into an argument, weren’t you!” Song Yu pulled a long face and exclaimed. Even though her expression was sunken, the blush made her face look more beautiful. By virtue of that blush, her attempts at intimidation were much more subdued.
Qi Chengzhi sighed. “I just feel really disgusted to see you having such a good relationship with him in the past. He even saved you yesterday when Liang Lihua bullied you. How can I not be angry?”
He rubbed her back gently to console her and gave her a few kisses too. “Don’t be angry anymore okay.”
Song Yu continued to be sour and remained quiet. All of a sudden, Qi Chengzhi went quiet too. Song Yu sneaked in a glance at him and noticed that he was still as aloof as ever, looking down silently at her.
Her heart skipped a beat and she was afraid to take the argument too far. Knowing that it was time to put it aside, she grumbled and hugged him, saying, “I really don’t have any feelings toward Jian Yi or any other man. You don’t need to get angry over those insignificant people.”
Qi Chengzhi huffed a couple of times. Song Yu decided that it was better if she hugged him meekly by the waist and draw circles on his back.
“Don’t I have a good man in you? In my eyes, no one can compare to you. You’re downgrading your worth if you compare yourself to Jian Yi.” Song Yu spoke as though she was coaxing a child, saying only the things that would make him happy. “I can’t erase the things that happened in the past, but in the future, I will only take photos with you.”
“Hmph.” Qi Chengzhi raised an eyebrow, but his expression had improved tremendously.
“...” Song Yu felt irritated. It was she who was angry at him, but in the end, she was the one who had to placate him.
As she thought of that, she felt a hand trying to sneak into her clothes.
Red-faced, she looked at him and saw his dignified and ever-steady face, not to mention that kind of high-minded look that graced his handsome mien.
“...” Speechless, she grabbed his hand and pulled it out. “Get yourself ready. Dad and Mom are waiting outside.”
An insipid smile formed at the corner of his lips. He lowered his head and kissed her before tidying his clothes up.
His clothes may be crumpled, but at least he was still clothed. Song Yu, however, had her clothes all stripped off, and when Qi Chengzhi was done tidying himself, Song Yu was still busy wearing her clothes.
Qi Chengzhi opened the windows to allow passage of fresh air, cleansing the room of their lingering sexual aroma. He then opened the photo album.
Song Yu finished getting dressed. She looked at him and saw that he was taking out every single photo that had her and Jian Yi on it.
“You wanna throw them away?” she asked.
Fortunately, there were only a few pictures of her and Jian Yi. Qi Chengzhi would have sulked a second time if there were more pictures.
His photographic memory enabled him to remember the precise location of those pictures in the photo album. He took out the photos deftly and placed them into his jacket pocket without another word, not even a reply to Song Yu’s question.
Song Donglin and Yu Qianying saw the door open, and out came the young couple.
Song Yu’s blush was something that she could not hide, but Qi Chengzhi’s face seemed to be rather calm. His look suggested that nothing had happened in the room and that they were hiding away purely to have a chat. Like always, his face had a cold aloofness.
Even Yu Qianying could not help but revere in silence his ability to keep such a good poker face!
The young couple was preparing to head back to the Qi family manor, and Yu Qianying did not want to delay them. Just thinking about what her daughter had done with Qi Chengzhi inside the house was enough to make her feel awkward. Song Yu was her daughter after all, and Yu Qianying would always look at her own daughter as the young girl who was never going to grow up. She had not gotten used to the idea that her daughter was married and about to have a family, so the faster the couple left, the sooner Yu Qianying could take a breather and avoid the tenseness.
When she followed the couple downstairs to send them off, she stood beside the Range Rover and said, “Now that you’ve registered your marriage, you’re officially husband and wife. It’ll feel different from before. Chengzhi, if Song Yu’s temper gets the better of her, please bear with her as best as you can.”
Qi Chengzhi smiled and shot Song Yu a glance, as if to imply that Song Yu often let her temper loose with him. As a result of his look, Song Yu felt her scalp burn.
“Don’t worry, I will,” Qi Chengzhi assured.
...
...
In the midst of their journey, Qi Chengzhi stopped the car abruptly beside the road.
It was surprising that he could suppress his intense desire, and all that could be heard was his order, “Come down from the car.”
Qi Chengzhi got off before Song Yu could ask him what was going on.
Left without a choice, she unbuckled her seatbelt and followed him down.
Qi Chengzhi locked the car and waited for Song Yu to come over. He took her hand, and upon reaching the shop entrance, Song Yu noticed that he was bringing her into a jewelry shop.
“What are we buying again?” Song Yu asked, puzzled.
“Wedding rings,” he replied, raising her left hand to see the pink engagement ring on her middle finger.
“This is an engagement ring, and I think it’ll be a bit too big if you wear it on your ring finger,” Qi Chengzhi opined. “Besides, I don’t have a wedding ring.”
After he finished speaking, Song Yu took out the engagement ring from her middle finger and tried it on her ring finger. As expected, the ring did not fit snugly.
“Sir, Miss, what would you like to see today?” a store attendant smiled and asked.
“I’ve previously made a booking for a pair of wedding rings,” Qi Chengzhi said while presenting the attendant with a receipt.
She looked at him in acknowledgment. “Alright. Please wait a moment.”
The attendant went into the office, but out came another employee with some tea for the couple.
Not long later, the manager personally came out with a tray in hand. It was lined with black velvet and on top of it lay a box.
“Sir, this is the ring you ordered,” the manager remarked. Qi Chengzhi brought Song Yu over.
The manager’s white-gloved hands took the ring out carefully from the box and placed it on top of the black velvet.
“Sir, this is the diamond you provided. After we set it in the ring, we took the finished product for certification. Please, have a look.” The manager handed over the certification document, which included information such as color, clarity, and carat weight, amongst other things. It was a match with the diamond that Qi Chengzhi had provided them with.
A diamond of equivalent grade would be difficult to find, even with the resources available to those branded jewelry shops. The manager was rendered speechless when he looked at it.
Song Yu glanced at the certification and opened her eyes wide. ‘Qi Chengzhi must have gone nuts! Why in the world did he have to use a three-carat diamond? It would be too obvious if I wore it!’
Qi Chengzhi pinched the ring in his fingers and placed it into Song Yu’s finger. He voiced out suddenly, “I chose this diamond to represent you. You’re as pure and unadulterated as this diamond.”
Even the attendants, who were not a party to the sweet exchange, felt intoxicated when they heard such a moving confession. More so, when it came from a man like Qi Chengzhi, who was handsome and had a richly beautiful voice.
Qi Chengzhi then picked up his own wedding band, which was a simple piece that was gem-less. It was poles apart from Song Yu’s, as his ring was so plain that it did not even have any etching.
He wanted to wear it himself, but Song Yu took it from him and said, “I’m supposed to be the one to put it on you.”
Song Yu opened her palm and let his fingers lay flat on it. Mesmerized, she used her thumb to caress his slender fingers back and forth. His firm flesh wrapped his bones, and each finger segment was vaguely discernible, making his fingers look handsome and elegant.
The deposit had been paid earlier on, so after Song Yu placed the ring onto his finger, Qi Chengzhi settled the remaining payment.
The numbers on the computer screen made the store attendant dizzy. She began to envy Song Yu more and more, wondering what luck Song Yu had in getting such an exceptional man.
Even as Qi Chengzhi and Song Yu left, the attendant was still looking at Qi Chengzhi, refusing to move her gaze away from his back.
When the couple entered the shop earlier, she deduced that Qi Chengzhi was rich just by looking at his clothes. Whilst there was no doubt that he had the financial ability to make purchases at the shop, it still surprised her that his wealth enabled him to spend such an obscene amount of money without even batting an eye.
“Stop looking. There’s nothing you can do about it no matter how envious you are.” The manager chuckled, drawing back the attention of the attendant.
“Manager, why is it so expensive when he provided his own diamond? And when did our company start doing diamond setting?” The attendant then thought of that question.
“He’s rich, that’s why. When he came the first time I actually declined, because our brand doesn’t have this kind of service. But then he just blurted out a dizzying number, and I immediately asked the company to respond. They happily said yes. The diamond he provided was just too valuable, and the company really wanted to accept the request to have it set into a ring. He also chose a really complex method of diamond setting, which our brand is capable of doing. The style is truly one-of-a-kind, and the craftmanship alone is already worth a fortune. That, as well as the number he gave me, was far more expensive than the most expensive ring we carry,” the manager explained.
The attendant shook her head, as though she was lost in a dream that she could not wake up from.
...
...
Song Yu put forth a question as soon as they entered the car. “When did you book the ring? Did you really book it that early?”
Qi Chengzhi started the car before responding bluntly, “Preparedness averts peril.”
Song Yu, “...”
She took off the pink-jeweled ring from her left middle finger and placed it into her right middle finger. It was far too garish for her to be placing both that and the new ring on the same hand.
In spite of that, it was still too bling for her. She decided that when she went home, she would keep the pink ring for now and wear only the wedding ring.
Song Yu then focused her gaze on Qi Chengzhi, who was driving. His ring was on his left ring finger, and from Song Yu’s perspective, it was not that clear.
She thought about how he had done many things without telling her, such as quitting smoking and even ordering the wedding ring. Song Yu could not help but ask him, “Qi Chengzhi, are you hiding any other similar things from me?”
Qi Chengzhi kept quiet and shot her a look. Without a single word, he stretched his hand over to grab her left hand, allowing his distinctive fingers to tunnel in between her fingers, intertwining both hands. Four fingers locked tightly against the back of her hand with an extraordinarily firm grip, while his thumb rubbed back and forth over the side of her index finger.
Song Yu did not pursue the question further, for she merely asked it impulsively.
He lifted his hand and kissed firmly on its back.
Qi Chengzhi found the time to glance momentarily at her. He tightened his grip on her to the point where his fingertips were pale in color.
“You wanna have another go?” His thumb was still caressing her index finger and his voice, though mellifluous, was nothing short of shameless. “You’re not satisfied with what we did at home?”
His expression was full of innuendo as he spoke.
“...” A red blush crept up Song Yu’s face as she wondered how he could turn such an emotional moment into such a lewd one!
