Book 2: Chapter 11 (10/11)
Iris was dismayed and baffled by Kains statement, she asked, Kain Bersk, are you telling me that you refused to have a Devil as your Soul-Bound Creature? Even God-tier Warrior isnt much stronger compared to a Devil. Are you sure about this?
Iris, dont even waste your time asking me such a stupid question. My answer is solid. I wont allow you or anyone to kill Finwe. You can tell that Devil to go back to Hell Realm.
"You choose a chicken instead of a beautiful and powerful Devil? Are you out of your f**king mind?" This was the first time Iris cursed in front of Kain. She just couldn't believe how stupid this man can be.
After taking five seconds to calm down, Iris said in a begging tone, "Evienne Lucifuge is your reward for completing the Tenth-tier, are you sure that you dont want her? Would you please reconsider? A hundred of your Finwe can't even be compared to one Evienne Lucifuge.
Its not that I dont want her. But I wont betray Finwe. End of story. Iris, your reward sucks! Kain answered in an angry tone.
"Stupid child!" Iris screamed in Kain's face before continuing to say, "I'm sorry for yelling at you. Please consider carefully. If you compare Evienne Lucifuge to a phoenix, then your Finwe can't even be compared to a chicken."
Kain was so excited to find out what the reward was going to be. He had fought five battles in this Tenth-tier. The second battle almost cost him his life. Kain expected some kind of great rewards such as ultra-rare crafting materials or something better. Having a Devil to be bound to a Conjurer Soul is the dream come true for any other Conjurer Mages. If Kain didnt have a Soul-Bound Creature yet, he would unquestionably hop and dance in happiness for having a Devil as his companion. Kain may be ruthless, but his loyalty to Finwe is rock solid and cant be changed by anyone or anything. At least not yet.
Iris asked again, Is that your final answer? You wanted to keep a weak evolved Thunder Eagle as your Soul-Bound Creature instead of a mighty Devil who has the ability to open Thirteen Hell Gates?
Yes, that is my final answer! That was what Kain wanted to yell out loud. But there was a voice in his head that told him not to do such a stupid thing. The voice said, Choose the phoenix, forget the chicken. Your long journey has just started. Having Evienne as your Soul-Bound Creature will benefit you in the long term while Finwe can no longer aid you like he used to because you are too powerful for him now.
Kain didnt know what took over his body. Kain wanted to choose Finwe despite the voice in his head kept telling him not to. But his mouth didn't obey him as it wanted to choose Evienne instead of Finwe. Kain bit his teeth to prevent himself from saying something that he will regret later, but some kind of invisible energy took over his body forced him to said, I will choose Evienne-
No! Kain shouted as he finally pushed that invisible energy out and regained control of his body.
Iris was surprised by Kains reaction, she asked using a concerned tone, Kain, I can't wait all day. These will be my last questions. Who will you choose? The mighty Devil named Evienne Lucifuge, or the Evolved Thunder Eagle named Finwe?
Iris, if I may ask you a question.
Iris sighed heavily and said, Go ahead.
Is there a way not to kill Finwe but still can break the abyss link chained between him and myself?
Perhaps I can revive him after you successfully bound with Lady Evienne. However, that will cost all of your rewards for the next four tiers. Are you willing to trade those precious rewards for that chicken?
I agreed to not collect any rewards for the next four tiers in exchange for Finwe to be revived. One last thing, please don't call Finwe a chicken again. Kain answered without taking any second to think.
Very well. I will now travel to the realm of the Thunder Eagles. After I killed Finwe, you will feel the abyss link chained between you and him will be broken. After that, you know what to do, dont you?
Yes, I will immediately ask Evienne to be bound to my Conjurer Soul.
Alright, I will see you back in a bit.
Approximately ten minutes later, Kain felt the abyss link chained between him and Finwe was completely broken. Kain was surprised that it took that fast and thought, I thought it would take much longer due to the time difference between the Timeless Dungeon and the real world.
Kain felt ashamed of himself for betraying Finwe, but Iris was right. A chicken cant be compared to a phoenix. It would be a very stupid decision if Kain gave up on an opportunity of having a Devil as his Soul-Bound Creature.
Kain walked over to Evienne and asked, Will you volunteer to be bound to my Conjurer Soul?
Evienne said, I was voluntold (forced to volunteer) to be bound to you. Even though I didnt want to, a bet is a bet. You have defeated me fair and square, I agreed to be bound to your Conjurer Soul as an equal partner.
Kain activated the [Soul Bound] technique allowing a permanent abyss link starting to chained Evienne to his Conjurer Soul. After the process was over, Kain and Evienne then stared at each other awkwardly without saying anything.
A minute later, Evienne said, I will go back to the Hell Realm.
Kain nodded his head and said, Okay.
Arent you going to banish me?
Right. Because Evienne was bound to Kains Conjurer Soul, she couldn't teleport back to Hell Realm without his permission. Kain deactivated [Soul Bridge] and Evienne was automatically transported back to the Hell Realm.
Another ten minutes passed. Iris appeared in front of Kain and said, Done. Finwe was killed and revived as you wished.
At this time, Kain could hear at least sixty percent of the Watchers who were sitting in the audience side cheered out happily. Kain turned his head back at Iris and asked, Seriously? Yall also bet on whether I would choose to bound Evienne to my Conjurer Soul or continue to keep Finwe?
Iris answered in a happy tone, No. We bet on whether or not you will sacrifice all of your rewards for the next four tiers to save Finwe. No one thought you would be stupid enough to choose an Evolved Thunder Eagle over a Devil.
Did you bet that I would sacrifice my rewards to save Finwe?
Yes. Anyway, lets move on. Watcher Sivna told me that you broke The Creators rules by killing over a hundred evolved Thunder Eagles while using your astral form. She wanted me to tell you that she wasnt happy about it.
Punish me however she wanted to, what is done is already done.
She decided to ban you from being able to come into the realm of Thunder Eagles for a hundred thousand years in real-time. If you dare to enter the realm of Thunder Eagles either through a portal or through your astral form, Watcher Sivna will immediately kill you without any kind of warning.
To be straightforward, I expected a much worse punishment. Very well, I wont come into the realm of Thunder Eagles for a hundred thousand years.
