Chapter 266 266: Part 1: The Glade Wars XI
Technically, even from just the way they both carried themselves, Cole was the younger person, so him calling his opponent boy was something that really annoyed the man, enough that he also completely ignored the fact that there were darklings to deal with, it was obvious Cole was the bigger threat, and that was made all the more prevalent as the darklings themselves all turned to face Cole, in the end the reigning principle was the enemy of my enemy is my friend. As for Cole…..
"Well then don't keep me waiting! COME ON!" He roared at them as he rushed forwards, locking weapons with the human as he sent his head forward and into the bridge of his nose. The man drew back with a startled cry as Cole pulsed out with [Gravity] pushing the fairy darkling away as he used [Vertigo] to keep the rest of the darklings of guard before he blasted himself upwards with [Gravity]
Unfortunately for the darklings, none of them noticed that anything had changed with the battlefield, but the human did, and he quickly gave himself as much distance as he could before the [Chaos Blast] exploded, all in it's original form and glory as a dome of power chaotic energy spread out. Two of the darkling were evaporated in seconds as they too left their cores behind. The dome vanished as Cole landed on earth that had been blackened and seemed to be burning with black demonic flames.
The giant darkling and the elf were all that was left, well they and the human. He chuckled as he pulled out one of his daggers and held [Black Malakai] in a reverse grip, it's form changing, shrinking until what Cole had in his right hand with a pitch black karambit and a simple dagger in the other. He crouched down, both hilts to at the side of his head as he crossed his arms over his face with the daggers pointing in front of him. It was time to really sink in to the battle styles and forms of the [Black Demon Swordsmanship] Cole moved.
[Shadow Dance]
Cole popped up out of the man's shadow, but this die definitely had stats in the Gold rank and an almost preternatural awareness of his surroundings. He turned around and slashed both axes down, as Cole raised shifted to the side, but still getting blasted away by the wave released by both axes releasing their fiery solar flares. He dragged his feet into the ground the jumped into the air, reaching a height that shocked him for a moment as he evaded the darkling giant's charge.
Cole created a [Gravity] platform under his feet, as he stood 20 feet above their heads. The. He unceremoniously raised the amount of gravity within the area they covered by a factor of five. Perhaps it might not mean much fort he darklings, but for the human, this meant that even the very breaths he took would be a problem for him, as air would be a whole lot more denser and his body under too much pressure to be able to work his lungs properly…..it only slowed him down for a second.
Cole cursed softly as he showed behind him in a spray of light and slashed his axes for Cole's neck, looks like he has learnt his lesson from the first time. Cole raised both daggers up to defend, as their weapons flashed, releasing flashes of light and darkness into the air, as Cole was pushed back over a dozen steps that he fell off his gravity platform.
It would be absolutely stupid and suicidal to compete with this guy in strength, because he was obviously physically stronger than Cole, and not just by a single point but by a lot….. this guy probably had the strength stat, and it probably was the one in the Gold rank, if at all he doesn't have two stats in the same Gold rank as Cole.
The elf darkling rushed him, leaping into the air with a screech as scythes popped out of it's hands to split the falling Cole in two. But the dagger flew out of his hand, pumped full of energy, as Cole spun in the air like a sideways top, [Black Malakai] changing shape into a Sabre that slashed half the body of the darkling open before blasting it back to the ground, with Cole following close behind to land by the side of the creature and smashing his fist into its face with enough force to bury half it's head. Then he used [Sin Eater]
This particular opponent turned to dust not to long after as Cole received notifications about the influx of new stats. He ignored it along with the others as he faced what was left of his opponents. He chuckled as he sheathed [Black Malakai] and held his hand behind his back as he raised his head to the man, completely ignoring the Darkling Giant that was looking at him with a rather menacing look…..he had saved the best for last.
"What is your name sir, I apologize for my disrespect but you are a worthy opponent. You can't beat me, you never will, but you have an acumen for battle that is even higher than mine. I'm relying on extremely powerful skill, but you, you fight as if it's what you were born to do. No wasted movements or moves, every time you move you ensure it's a killing move. Even if we're enemies, from warrior to another I respect you and would like the honor of knowing your name."
Cole didn't give a shit about these things he just said, but he was after something, he just wanted to see what sort of person this guy is, to know if he would get it or not. And depending on the answer his receives, it would also determine how he goes on with the rest of the fight, and if at all, he would leave here with the man's head tucked under his arm as a trophy and a lesson for others to not be so arrogant when they're in the Presence of the Raen Progenitor.
