Chapter 251 251: Part 1: Secrets Of The 3rd Floor
3 DAYS LATER
Cole was baffled, while he had expected the crops he had planted to grow faster than the norm, he did not expect most of them to reach full maturity in just three days. The only thing lagging behind was the Aboi fruit tree, but even that already had fruit seeds and surprisingly enough extremely fragrant flowers shooting out of. The corn and wheat looked like they had been juiced up with a plants version of steroids as a single ear of corn was as large as his freaking arm.
By this point in time they were not corn stalks of wheat stalks but freaking trees. It was baffling really but Cole enjoyed every bit of what he was seeing. After all there was just something about growing food that appealed to him in more ways than one. He was smart though, it might not seem wise but ultimately the one thing that people could not do without was food, and if a new universe order was coming, the way things are done or handled would change, food was definitely something humanity would be in dire need of. Which was where Cole would come in, he would save the masses and make a shit ton of money from it…..or not.
You can ever predict the future, but be that as it may this was still what was coming and this farm would provide a stream of income for Cole. The perfect example would be the way he sold his resources to the system. A 100 units of wood, was a gold coin. Somehow it seemed the lesser monetary denominations have been phased out and good was the standard of everything now. If you ask Cole, perhaps that's a little too expensive, especially when the system is selling 10 units of wood for 20 silver. A 100 silver makes a gold, the system would end up with a profit of twice it's buying price.
To Cole that was crazy, but that was basically how most of the aspirants were making the money they needed to find their trainings, weapons, gear, buildings etc. It was a simple way to gaining wealth, especially when you consider the fact that outside of the 3rd floor, gold seems to be worth exponentially more than it is here, this basically taking a thousand dollars and going to a third world country to buy a 2 bedroom house.
Never the less there was no gaming the system, but you circumnavigate it. If the glades can create an economy or market of their own without having to rely on the system, then they would be keeping the money and the profits amongst themselves. Even the inter-Glade terminal that allows for transactions to happen between glades still suffers from the system taking a commission for every transaction.
If rumors are to be believed, the third floor was a special world or universe. Apparently some dude had discovered the secret of Pangea after luckily also running into an innkeeper named Bob. It seems that guy is showing himself to everyone else but the person that needs him the most. Either way by purchasing information, he learns that Pangea though the third floor, was the first of all the universes to develop a system, the very first reality that decided to start cannibalizing other realities.
But there was always a balance in nature, even within the system. The planet is endless, and every new universe would have a chance to come here and stake a claim over parts of it for themselves. As the integration progresses, or when it is finally over, every territory would be consolidated under their owners. Which means whatever he owns in his reality versus what he owns here would all come together in the new reality and even before then a path can be made by seeding a dungeon in his world and aligning it with the 3rd floor.
It was a lot to unpack and frankly speaking it made Cole a little anxious to see what the future holds, even if it might not be as favorable to him as he would want it to be. But back to the matter at hand, Cole would have to harvest all of this, and that would take a significant amount of time and manpower, but ultimately there was no work more honest than a man under the sun and working on his farm.
But the farm aside there has also been a few changes around. Pollux had a few blueprints down that Cole would have to sign off on and initiate their construction. With the farms up, everything was looking really nice the last few days, and the aspirants seemed to have calmed down a bit. They come over more frequently now and without any fuss, many of them of have actually been trying to get an in on Cole's guild, but there would be a test held in two weeks, and every month after that to admit people into Cole's guild.
Cole had the barebones of a plan about how he wanted to run his guild. Or rather his alliance, and he would happily thank that Anime Bleach for giving him the idea. The 13 squads of soul society, could just as easily by 13 guilds under the Raen Alliance of course they done have to be 13, plagiarism was not a good look on him. But Cole was going over it with Cassandra and Tehilla and most of the ideas put forth has merit, now they just needed to have enough people, competent people to fill the roles of the squad captains or in this case guild leaders and they can move on from there. But that would mainly be after he has expanded on his territory, the future was looking bright and Cole was shining the brightest.
"Now what to do about those other Glades…..they seem to have formed an alliance in an attempt to divide up my Glade. Or rather they want my territory because some member of my Glade has gone and blabbed about it…..now what to do?" Cole asked himself as he looked down on [Black Malakai] sheathed and held in his hands. The blade vibrated giving Cole all of the answer he could possibly need.
"Right!.....we should go chop some heads."
