Chapter 221 221: The 9th Wave III
By this point they had cleared more than 70% of the Banelings on the battlefield, with Cole being responsible for a great deal of that percentage, but at a cost. Cole had power at his fingertips the likes of which no other aspirants has, however the heights and limits that he pushes his skills too, are those that his body and the stats that embody them have not reached yet. Cole was punching above his weight class and winning, but not without consequences.
But on the other hand Cole had his [Demonic Constitution] skill. It was this overpowered skill that was making it possible for Cole to become more and more irresponsible in the face of danger, because he knew it would be almost impossible to kill him even if the person posing a threat and danger to himself is actually…..himself. but never the less with this move that he had made Cole finally realized that his Chaos Blast was a skill that could be reused without the earlier expenditure of energy.
When he had created the [Chaos Strings] he had not even used a bit of energy to do so, apart from when he had used it to augment his body. In a way he was stronger just as he wanted to become, but back to the matter at hand, he was still about to be smashed by bruisers as it seems there was no end to these undead…. At least for now. He flipped, his single leap taking him high above the heads of the Bruisers as he once again reached out to connect to the Chaos energy all around him.
But this time instead of connecting to them as strings he let them all hang in the air as individual balls of chaos. Basically this was the [Chaos Blast] skill but in extremely miniature versions. They were all the size of bullets and filled the air, blanketing the area where Cole and the bruisers were. There was a pause even amongst the well-oiled machine that the 9th wave had proven itself to be. They had already seen just how dangerous this skill was, but to see it again in such a scale, without a doubt there was a need for a pause.
But Cole was not done yet as he sent a single point of energy into the bullet size [Chaos Blast] that filled the air, giving them more power and making them compact to the point that their surface was not wispy vapor like red and black, but a marble with a gradient red and black coloration. He had given them a solid form, and with a single breath, he unleased them onto the horde below, letting them fly with a fury that they'd probably had never seen before or will ever see again.
It was like a symphony of thunder and lightning as the…. Chaos Marbles? Bullets? Bullets are better. As the Chaos Bullets wreaked havoc, but unlike their parent skill, these did not dissipate or explode, they were all still under Cole's control as they began to act like an autonomously attack system, flying through and turning every Baneling it came in contact with to black ash and nothingness.
He landed on the ground and made the most dangerous decision he could ever possibly make, he opened the chambers to both his guns and sent six Chaos Bullets into them, shaping them enough that they looked like real bullets and fit into the chamber of Blue Obsidian and Black Sapphire. The moment both revolvers were primed and the hammer pulled back, they underwent a drastic change. Blue Obsidian's developed red highlights and rough edges, not the gun positively looked like something that had been fetched out of the very depths of a volcanic hell.
Black Sapphire gained red highlights and a longer barrel with what looked to be sights popping out over the top of the barrel. Cole took a second to admire them before he fired off the signature skills in tandem with each other, eager to see what sort of destruction they would wreak.
[Sapphire Sniping] [Obsidian Shot] [Double Tap]
Both guns bucked in his hand like a wild bull, the power from both shots or if you consider the presence of [Double Tap] four shots, blasted Cole backwards. His heels dug into the ground, creating furrows that got deeper the farther he went back until he was buried in the ground up to his thighs. As for the shots themselves, Blue Obsidian let loose fiery black beaks of energy that faded after each shot, but every body it touched, went through or past, exploded into fiery chaotic flames.
Black Sapphire was more of a ranged weapon going much further than Blue Obsidian. But the path of it's trajectory had built massive black ice stalagmites that shot up 8 meters into the air. Every Baneling that was shot had the same crystals growing out of their bodies and spreading for every Baneling it touched, turning the entire battlefield into a forest of black ice and black flames that seemed to feed off each other spreading like wild fire. Cole felt he had to at least give this move a name, so that it would be seared into his memory.
[Chaos Style: Requiem Of Ice And Fire]
"An Impressive show of power for an invader, but you will find that I can match that and more. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Delarosa of the Under Mountain, it is my privilege and honor to cross swords with a warrior such as yourself. Though your use of such crude weapons astounds me when they're not the peak of your ability….. will you do me the honor of drawing your blade?"
The voice wasn't heard so much as it was felt, Cole saw a woman dressed in a ghostly shawl float above and through all of the carnage he had caused to come stand in front of him a few meters away. She was wielding a broadsword that was way too big for her dainty figure, but her head was covered showing nothing but the red orbs within the darkness of her hood. Cole did not need a shiny name tag above her head to know that she was the Boss of the 9th wave, and from what he could feel….. this was the real deal. Cole did not disparage her words as he spun both revolvers before putting them in the holsters on his sides, then he stretched his hand behind his waist and pulled out [Black Malakai] as slowly as possible, the sound of the blade ringing across the entire battlefield.
He held the sword facing down, as he raised his left hand towards her and made a come on motion, she nodded as she said.
"I would give this fight my all, as a respect and honor to your prowess. I know my comrades had fallen at your hands because they had underestimated you and thought you beneath their level of power. I will not do the same, which is why I am warning you, one swordsman to another, fight me with all that you have." Cole cocked his head to the side, the nodded his head as he summoned the spear of life and green in his left hand, then he shrunk it until it was just about the size of a dagger, then Cole raised his head and activated the skill that brought out the monster within, he truly was ready to dance.
