Chapter 346: Chapter 346: Go Open a Room
(Third Update)

“It’s okay, just took a fall,” Luo Ziling said with a bitter smile upon seeing Ouyang Huihui’s about-to-cry expression as he lay on the ground. He instructed Ouyang Huihui, “Take the child first, let me stand up.”

Ouyang Huihui did as told and took the wailing child, but she didn’t know how to hold him, making the child cry even louder.

As Luo Ziling was getting to his feet, the child’s mother had rushed over desperately and, seeing her child flailing and crying, she too burst into tears and snatched the child away.

Mother and daughter cried together, the mother trying to soothe her wailing child in her arms, tears streaming down her face.

A few kind-hearted bystanders approached, offering tissues to the woman and child to wipe their tears and telling the woman that it was the man beside who had rushed to catch her child. It was a stroke of luck amidst misfortune.

If no one had caught him, the child would have fallen from a height of more than ten meters onto the hard floor tiles, and the consequences would have been unthinkable.

The first and second floors of the shopping mall were very high, each level being at least a dozen meters tall. From such a height, the force of gravity could be terrifying. But the woman didn’t pay attention to the words of others; she just held her child and kept crying as if the world was ending.

After a short while, the elderly woman also arrived, dragging her grandson whose face was covered in blood; she was crying too, as was her grandson, who had been injured in the fall on the escalator.

For a moment, Luo Ziling and Ouyang Feifei’s vicinity was filled with their cries.

By then, the security guards of the mall had arrived. They persuaded the crowd that had gathered to watch the commotion to step aside and came forward to understand the situation.

The worried mother, after crying and holding her child for a while, came back to her senses.

She noticed that her child’s hand was injured from the fall, badly swollen, and the skin abraded, starting to cry again.

Seeing that her son was also hurt, she cried even harder.

Several security guards hurriedly tried to comfort her, and a few caring women nearby also joined in to calm her down.

Many spectators who had come for the commotion praised Luo Ziling for his heroic rescue. One woman in her thirties even took the child from the crying mother’s arms, suggesting she contact her family to get to the hospital.

“I am a doctor, let me look at the child’s injury,” Luo Ziling, enduring his pain, stepped forward and reached out to the woman holding the child, “The child’s hand must have hit the wall when he fell.”

Upon hearing Luo Ziling say he was a doctor, the woman holding the child quickly handed the child over to him.

Luo Ziling took the child and carefully examined him, finding it was only a superficial wound that hadn’t affected the bones. He breathed a sigh of relief, took out a bottle of medicine from his pocket, and shook it onto the child’s injured arm.

After treating the little girl’s injury simply, Luo Ziling saw the little boy standing there with a bloodied face, crying. He pulled the boy over, took some tissues from Ouyang Huihui, wiped the blood from the boy’s face, and then applied some medicinal powder.

Strangely enough, the swelling on the little girl’s arm quickly went down a bit, and the bleeding from the little boy’s wound stopped.

“Maybe you should go to the hospital for a check-up, just to make sure there are no other injuries,” Luo Ziling, in pain himself, didn’t feel up to doing a more thorough check up and only treated the superficial injuries of the two children.

“Thank you so much, handsome young man,” the woman who had enthusiastically held the child earlier exclaimed, her eyes lighting up upon seeing Luo Ziling’s good looks. She spared no praise, “If it wasn’t for you, the little girl would definitely have been hurt, perhaps even facing a life-threatening situation. Young lady, and auntie, you should quickly thank the handsome young man. He is the little girl’s lifesaver.”

Only then did the mother come to her senses, wiping her tears as she expressed her thanks to Luo Ziling.

Luo Ziling was handsome and Ouyang Huihui was beautiful; many eyes turned to them rather than to the two injured children, their mother, and grandmother, who didn’t attract much attention. Some people even took out their phones to take pictures.

“It’s nothing,” Luo Ziling said with a shy smile, “I’ve treated the wounds for now, but you should go to the hospital to have them checked.”

With that, he beckoned to Ouyang Huihui, “Let’s go!”

But Ouyang Huihui, who was deeply concerned about the child’s safety, continued to keep her head down, comforting the little boy and urging him not to cry.

Luo Ziling had no choice but to grab her arm and push through the crowd towards the outside.

After being dragged out of the encirclement by Luo Ziling, Ouyang Huihui did not pull her hand away; instead, she looked at him with admiration and sincerely praised, “Luo Ziling, the way you rescued that person just now was so cool. I hadn’t even reacted yet, and you were already rushing forward to catch them. If you had hesitated for even half a second, that child would definitely have fallen to their death. From that height, could they have survived?”

Without waiting for Luo Ziling’s response, she giggled and added, “Actually, this family should really thank you. You not only saved a life, but you also saved their happiness.”

Luo Ziling ignored her and continued to pull her toward the exit of the mall.

“What’s wrong, weren’t we going to shop?” Seeing that Luo Ziling was ready to leave while holding her hand, Ouyang Huihui couldn’t help but feel curious. She slowed down, then reached back and grabbed Luo Ziling’s arm, “We haven’t bought anything yet, why are we leaving already?”

Unconsciously, Ouyang Huihui reached back and grabbed Luo Ziling’s hand. When Luo Ziling had been pulling her arm earlier, their skin had not touched, so there was no particular feeling, but holding hands felt different.

“I’m hurt,” Luo Ziling said with a pained face to Ouyang Huihui, “We need to find a place with no one around to check it, it seems really painful.”

Only then did Ouyang Huihui snap back to reality. She didn’t even bother with the hand she was holding as she anxiously asked, “Where did you get hurt?”

“On the shoulder, the side that’s been injured before seems to be hurt again, and also on my back and legs,” Luo Ziling said as he let go of Ouyang Huihui’s hand, realizing that they had somehow ended up holding hands.

Ouyang Huihui’s hand was slender and smooth, feeling nice in his palm, but Luo Ziling decisively let go anyway.

Concerned about Luo Ziling’s injury, Ouyang Huihui asked anxiously, “What should we do then? Is your injury serious?”

Luo Ziling spoke as he headed towards the outside, “It shouldn’t be serious, I need to find a place to check it first and apply some medicine.”

“How about the restroom? No, it’s too crowded today; the restroom will definitely be packed. Let’s go outside,” Ouyang Huihui said while reaching to grasp Luo Ziling’s arm again, “It won’t be in the way, right?”

“If it weren’t for the wounds on my body that haven’t healed, I wouldn’t have fallen.” Luo Ziling said apologetically to Ouyang Huihui, “I can’t exert any strength in my arm.”

Luo Ziling’s injuries on his left shoulder and back were still healing, and although they had significantly improved over the past few days, his muscles and skin hadn’t fully regenerated, and his body’s condition and reflexes couldn’t possibly be the same as before.

If it were on a normal day when he wasn’t injured, catching an adult man falling from a height of several meters shouldn’t have been a problem for him.

“Alright, I’ll help you take a look in a bit,” Ouyang Huihui said as they walked outside.

But the streets on the weekend were filled with people everywhere, and they couldn’t find a quiet place nearby to check his injuries.

“How about going to the hospital?” Ouyang Huihui suggested.

“No,” Luo Ziling firmly refused.

What a joke!

“How about we get a room by the hour?” Seeing a hotel nearby, Ouyang Feifei hesitated for a moment, then quietly suggested and quickly explained, “Just to check your injuries, I can help you treat them.”

“No thanks!” Luo Ziling still refused.

Originally feeling uneasy, Ouyang Huihui became resolute due to Luo Ziling’s rejection, “Let’s do it, I’ll go check in. We can inspect it in the room!”

Saying so, and without further discussion, she pulled Luo Ziling in the direction of the hotel.
