Chapter 222: 222:Ambush[II]
However, before Suri could say anything, the vehicles behind them suddenly screeched to a halt. The figures emerging from those cars weren't police but highly trained operatives from a rival security firm known as BlackGuard.
They swiftly took positions along the highway, aiming the rifles at Suri's van, terrifying both Mark and Hela. But just then, they heard the voice crackle through the communicator.
"Miss, it's the helper Blackguard team."
Suri nodded, trying to mask her surprise, but she couldn't help but wonder internally. 'Weren't their signals blocked by signal jammers so how did they locate us?'
"Hang tight!" Suri yelled as she watched the BlackGuard team spring into action.
They moved like shadows, their movements fluid and efficient as they coordinated with military precision.
"Cover me!" one of the operatives shouted as he darted from behind a barrier and raised his weapon before firing at the group chasing Suri's van.
The shots rang out, a stark contrast to the chaos surrounding them.
Observing this, Suri couldn't help but be impressed as the BlackGuard agents displayed a level of training that rivaled even her own team.
Her heart pounded steadily as she watched the scene unfold. The operatives advanced, taking out the attackers with pinpoint accuracy. One agent rolled across the ground, firing in a tight arc, while another provided cover to him from the side, picking off targets as they tried to regroup.
Their goal was to cripple the vehicles and cease the pursuit, but despite their efforts, a few managed to slip through, still hot on Suri's tail.
"Take out the drivers!" another BlackGuard operative commanded, directing his squad. They moved in perfect synchronization, flanking the enemy from all sides, and eliminating threats with ruthless precision.
Hela, mesmersized by such a high-action scenario, got up to have a better view, but…
"Stay down!" Mark hissed, pulling Hela further down on the seat as bullets whizzed overhead.
"Are you an idiot!" Mark snapped, spittle flying from his mouth. Experience magic at m v le mpyr
"I…I just thought it was over…" Hela stammered, not even registering the spittles flying on her face.
"In your dreams."
Suri tightened her grip on the wheel upon realizing that this was her chance to escape.
"Stop bickering," she shouted, pressing down on the gas pedal again. The van roared to life, and she maneuvered it around the fray, following the path that had been cleared by the BlackGuard.
As they drove past, Suri caught a glimpse of the last of the attackers being taken down by the operatives.
Just then, a thunderous explosion ripped through the air, as it rocked the ground and sook the van. Suri instinctively slammed on the brakes, bringing the vehicle to a skidding halt.
BOOOOOOM!
"What was that?" Hela shrieked, her eyes wide open in fear.
"Calm down," Suri instructed.
She turned her head to the rearview mirror, taking a look at the chaos erupting behind, where the enemy pursuers had been caught off-guard. From her vantage point, she could see them frantically trying to regroup, but it was just too late for them to do anything.
A volley of rockets was launched from a concealed position along the roadside, striking the pursuing vehicles one after the other, each one exploding with a sharp blast.
"Stinger missiles," Suri muttered, recognizing the projectiles streaking through the air. One struck a pursuing vehicle head-on, engulfing it in flames and shrapnel. The explosion was deafening and sent the vehicle's debris flying in every direction.
In the blink of an eye, figures clad in tactical gear emerged from the shadows like phantoms, moving with an eerie silence as the convoy chasing after Suri came to a sudden halt and the BlackGuard team swiftly took control.
The operatives, dressed like soldiers, swiftly took control of the situation and darted across the landscape, their movements fluid and precise. Each operative wielded state-of-the-art weaponry, firing suppressive bursts at the remaining pursuers.
The clash erupted into a brutal exchange of firefighters. The BlackGuard agents fired with deadly accuracy, each bullet finding its targets with terrifying precision. One operative dropped low, firing from a crouched position as he took down two attackers in rapid succession, while another tossed a flashbang, temporarily disorienting the enemy.
Suri watched the chaos unfold, observing how the team systematically dismantled their opposition.
One pursuer, caught in the open, was struck by a round that sent him sprawling to the ground lifeless before he hit the dirt. A nearby vehicle erupted in flames as another Stinger missile found its mark, sending debris raining down like confetti.
The scene was one of brutal efficiency and the battle was over almost as quickly as it began. The attackers, lacking the training and equipment wielded by the agents, helplessly fell one after another.
Just then an operative executed a flawless tactical maneuver, hurling a grenade into the cluster of pursuers.
The grenade tumbled and bounced underneath a nearby vehicle which wasn't left unnoticed by one of the men and he screamed, trying to alert his friends, "Grenade… RUNNNN!"
Alas, it was too late.
BOOOM!
The explosion ripped through the car, sending severed limbs and torn bodies flying away in all directions from the origin of the blast.
"SHITTT!"
"Who are these fuckers?"
A haywire of chaos erupted as people scrambled around to take cover, trying to escape the blast.
Sitting inside her van, Suri remained numb, her expression turning cold and calculating as she assessed the carnage.
She knew what needed to be done. After letting a few moments pass, she decided to step out.
She opened the van door and stepped out into the fray before shouting at her men who had encroached the bastards that had come to kill her.
"Leave a few alive!" she ordered, her voice cutting through the chaos.
The group of agents nodded, immediately adjusting their approach to subdue rather than kill.
SWISH!
They moved with lethal precision, swiftly disarming the last of the pursuers, incapacitating them with swift strikes and expertly placing shots that rendered them helpless. One of the agents moved in close, delivering a rapid series of blows to an attacker, knocking him unconscious before he could get a hold of his weapon.
As the last of the enemy forces fell, Suri scanned the battlefield with a sharp gaze and an impressed look on her face before she turned to one of the agents and asked, "Didn't you say that signals were blocked? How did you trace me then?"
Hearing this, the man gave a salute and replied, "Ma'am, it was Sir Evan. He gave us a map and showed us the shortcut to reach you."
Suri's cold expression softened a bit. If not for the situation, she might have called Evan and sent him a few power-back kisses.
However, knowing that this was no time for such a thing, she shook her head to get rid of unnecessary thoughts and approached the subdued men.
