The Strongest Conquest System

Chapter 335: The Overseers

....

"Argh!" Clawdia grimaced a little before she put a hand to the blood-stained cheongsam she had wrapped around her curvaceous body.

She resisted the extreme pain eating away at her insides as she refocused her attention on the black-haired man who had talked to her sister.

"???"

However, she noticed that he had once again disappeared.

Her eyes darted around the area, attempting to figure out where he had gone, and she ultimately saw his figure standing below the large, city-sized foot of Zargoroth.

WAAAA!!

And that was when she felt the aura released by Zargoroth increase a hundredfold as he focused all of his aura on that man.

No matter how much she believed that he was hiding his strength, there was no way that someone so young-looking could face off against Zargoroth.

So, in an attempt to tell him to run away with her little sister, she shouted, "P-Please, take my sister and run"

However, her throat was too dry and bloodied, so the only thing that came out was a hoarse whisper.

But she wasn't willing to give up so easily as she tried to shout out, "P-Please T-Take her and run"

Nonetheless, her voice came out in the same inaudible way.

*Drip Drip*

She bit her lips until blood started drizzling down her lips.

She hated herself for being so weak so weak that she couldn't even tell the man to run away with her little Calista

'... Calista' She clenched her chest, tears streaming down her face.

-

Ever since Calista was born, all Clawdia wanted was for her to live a good lifea life that she never had due to her family's wars in the Starry Expanse.

But, even with her wishes, none of it really mattered when they were on a lone asteroid, surrounded by enemies on all sides.

Clawdia, along with her father, Percival, had no choice but to keep Calista locked away in a large, empty castle with no one to talk to and nothing to do.

All so they could keep her safe from the cruelties of the world...

But in the end, none of it even mattered, as they were once again moved by circumstance.

The ancient forces on Asterion had started to move as they sucked in all the scattered forces around the planet in an attempt to amass a force great enough to overcome some 'enemy' they always raved about.

However, none of the rulers of the surrounding cosmic bodies believed the load of horse crap the old foggy's on Asterion were talking about!

Even the battle at the Starry Seaboard was nothing but a scheme set up between opposing forces to determine the 'true ruler' of Asterion. So why should they believe that there was some 'enemy' coming for them from beyond the Starry Seaboard!?

But, even if they were doubtful of the candidness of their words, what could they do against the Peak Mahayana Realm forces of Asterion??

So, in the end, Clawdia, along with her father, were sent off to the Luminous Grounds a few hundred years ago, while they left the young Calista all alone in an empty castle.

When they weren't doing the bidding of the overseers, they were able to visit her some of the time; however, even that stopped after a few opposing forces on the Cosmic Asteroids surrounding their own started to set their eyes upon the 'girl whose fate was controlled by circumstance'.

Everyone wanted to use her as a bargaining chip, and everybody wanted her for themselves, so Clawdia and Percival, with no other choice, were forced to take her away from the hollow castle and bring her to the Luminous Grounds.

However, nothing ever seemed to go right for the girl.

Just as they were about to put her in a safe enclosure that would keep out the majority of their enemies, they completely overlooked the enemy closest to them.

The Overseers.

They were lunatics who were the ancestors of the Nine Monster Emperor's and also the descendants of the 'Insane Scientists' that started the whole 'hybrid project' with the Monster Slaves.

Their goal: Unknown

Their purpose: Unknown

Their exact appearance date: Unknown

Other than their heritage and what they did most often, not much was known about the Overseers.

Nonetheless, what they did most often was create and recruit powerful creatures into the organization they called the 'Nightmare Council'.

For what reason they did such a thing was unknown, but the fact that they did it was undeniable.

But it was because of that 'unique habit' that they set their eyes on a certain catkin girl no older than twelve.

The Overseers caught wind of the daughter of one of their strongest 'behind the scenes' Monster Emperor's, and that was when they decided to go take a look at her out of curiosity.

It was a 'look' that led to them discovering the immense latent potential of Calista. In fact, she had so much potential that she would even be able to surpass the Mahayana Realm in the future!

But great talent was oftentimes not a good thing unless your background was indefatigable.

And Calista was one of those 'not great' cases...

The Overseers confronted Clawdia and Percival, asking them to give over the girl for the greater good of them all.

However, both Clawdia and her father fervently refused with every fiber of their being!

Following such a refusal, one thing led to another, as things escalated, and a battle eventually broke outa battle that left the Mahayana Realm Percival in dire straits and Clawdia in an even worse situation.

Furthermore, somewhere in there 'scuffle' with the Overseers, Clawdia had to retreat to the Second Floor of the Luminous Grounds, with the goal of hiding Calista away until the battle was concluded.

But the battle never did end in their favor, as Clawdia and her father, who were both in the Mahayana Realm, ended up badly losing their fight with the Overseers.

Following such a defeat, the Overseers controlled the mind of Percival and had him rampage throughout the Luminous Grounds!
