Chapter 322: The ‘Appearance Card’
....
'Well, just one more glance wouldn't hurt,' Azmond thought.
'Wait! No! You must stay focused on the goal!'
He refused to be termed a simp! After all, he was in a world of cultivation; he wasn't a Japanese protagonist for God's sake!
*Ahem!* He cleared his throat before he furrowed his brow and said, "I know of your name, for I asked the world about your identity."
His voice came out in a respectable and knowledgeable way as he tilted his head at a 110 angle and gazed off into the horizon that was made visible through the holes in the black dome.
"..."
Ember took one look at the human invader, and that was all it took for her to realize something...
'This man is the real deal! He must be a secret human master, right!?' She thought.
Reverence oozed out of her expression as she started to see the Grim Reaper in a different light!
"..." Azmond took a side glance at Ember and saw that look on her face before he thought, 'That really worked?'
He couldn't believe that he had conned a three thousand-year-old fox beauty so easily! Was he always so awesome, or was it a new thing!?
He became a little satisfied at such a self-discovery before he focused back on his 'destination'.
He had become a little distracted with the foxy beauty, but in the end, he still had to get back to his girls.
Although he forgot to ask Ember about her 'Nine-Tailed Fox Bloodline', he could always ask her about it later. After all, he wasn't going to let the Monster Queen's, Spiritflame, and the gazellekin out of his sight until he made it to Boundless and Calista.
-
A few hours passed by as Azmond traveled millions of miles across the vast, expansive, blood-colored ocean that took up the majority of the surface area on the Nineteenth Floor.
The Nineteenth Floor of the Luminous Grounds in the Nightmare Council.
The Nineteenth Floor, like all the other floors before it, had the same reddish color scheme and the same crystalline-like materials making up the entire floor.
Even the large ocean Azmond was flying above was no exception to that odd red crystalline substance, as it was incorporated into the very water itself.
Such a weird peculiarity caused the water that made up of the Nineteenth Floor to tremendously increase in density.
And that wasn't the end of it, as such a phenomenon also caused all the sea life that inhabited the ocean to go through a plethora of different mutations that caused their bodies to harden and adapt.
Furthermore, it was due to these mutations that the mindless monsters and creatures who lived on the Nineteenth Floor had major increases in their overall attributes and strength levels, as not a single creature on the Nineteenth Floor was below the Soul Transformation Realm!
That was no small accomplishment either, as Soul Transformation Realm monsters in Asterion as a whole were few and far between.
And they could, more often than not, be considered overlords of an entire plot of land that stretched on for hundreds or thousands of miles!
Nevertheless, such powerful creatures were seen as nothing but commonplace fodder on the Nineteenth Floor of the Luminous Grounds.
They were considered the lowest of the lows on the Floor that was dominated by High-Rank Monster King's
Furthermore, that brings up the topic concerning the rest of the 'intelligent' beings who lived on the Nineteenth Floor, as the High-Rank Monster King's that Azmond had killed were only a small fraction of the total number of them that lived on the Nineteenth Floor.
Although they were nowhere near the strength of the ones who participated in that meeting, they were still in the Early, Middle, and Late Unity Form Synthesis Stages.
In addition, there were tens of thousands of them, so they had the number advantage!
Of course, even though numbers didn't mean much when pinned up against absolute strength, they could still group up against someone a minor realm higher and maybe get lucky enough to take that person down.
Maybe
However, some High-Rank Monster King's took that 'maybe' for a 100% guarantee, as a few thousand High-Rank Monster King's ranging from the Early to the Peak Unity Form Synthesis Realm were waiting outside of a large city on top of a whalicerosa city that was filled to the brim with millions of monsterkind who made a barnacle on the Whaliceros their home.
A High-Rank Gorillakin King in a gaudy cape and extremely ostentatious clothes looked in the direction of a similarly dressed Wolfkin as he spoke up. "That catkin girl 'he' left behind is right down there, so why don't we just go and take her for ourselves already!?"
The wolfkin looked at the Gorillakin like he was looking at an idiot as he said, "Are you stupid or something??"
"What if 'he' had put up protection measures around the Catkin girl?? What would we do if we alerted him before he fell into the trap!?"
He derided the Gorillakin with a disdainful look on his face before he focused back on the 'bait'.
He, along with the rest of the High-Rank Monster Kings, had been waiting above the Whaliceros for the last half a day. But if their information was accurate, then the 'Grim Reaper' should be making his way back to the Whaliceros within the next few hours.
And all they had to do was wait it out until he appeared, which was exactly what they did.
A few hours passed by for Azmond, Spiritflame, Ember, the gazellekin, and the couple dozen Monster Queen's.
Most of the Monster Queen's were still a little anxious around Azmond, but after a few hours of talking together, a lot of them eventually started opening up to him.
It would've been a lot harder for him to gain even a modicum of friendliness from the Monster Queen's if not for the special 'skill' he possessed.
That 'skill' being the...
Appearance card!
