The Devil's Sweetheart

An hour ago..

Her vision still blurred as she opened her eyes. Harley couldn't talk. Her mouth was sealed with tape. She blinked her eyes to lubricate her eyes to see things clearly. She gazed at the surroundings. Despite summer, Harley felt cold here. Trees must surround the house, or she is in the outskirts, she thought. The room was pitch black to fathom anything arising in the darkness. Where am I? Why did they bring me here? Slowly, memories flooded before she lost consciousness.

She parked the car near the gift shop to buy cologne for Jasper. She already knows she would hear a positive response from him, so she thought..why not give him a present, and surprise him. The place is not a famous one, but it holds a special place in Harley's heart because that's where he proposed suddenly, surprising her. 

Harley didnot waste much time over there as she already knows his taste. She quickly purchased a gift, and when Harley stepped out of the shop, she saw two Subway food trucks parked close to her car, unable to get out of the space. Harley directly walked towards the food truck to reprimand them for the obstruction, but she felt someone's presence behind her all at once. Before Harley turned around, she felt a sharp striking punch an inch behind the bottom of her right ear, causing her dizziness, disorientation followed by blurry vision.

A little later, when she opened her eyes, she was lying on the shabby ground, her arms knotted with a rope. The smell disgusted her as if they hadn't cleaned the place for life.

Why did they kidnap her? Who exactly did it? Was it for money or sex? The latter thought sent chills run down her spine. There is no sound from her kidnappers in the room. If she can untie the cords before they arrive, she has a greater chance of escape. 

She got up to a sitting position and gazed at her sneakers. Creating friction between her toes, she loosened the shoe's vamp, thereby loosening the shoelaces. Then, with the tip of the shoe's toe cap, she grazed the heel counter of her left shoe until it slackened from her leg. 

A small object covered in duct tape was sitting on the insole of the shoe. She carries a razor blade in the shoe for safekeeping, and she didnot know it would come to use today.

Bringing her wrists together, Harley rotated them back and forth at an angle to create a space, and when she found it, she slipped down to the shoes. She grabbed the duct tape and slowly peeled off the rope from her writs, her heart pounding at an alarming rate.

Harley's heart leaped in joy when the rope fell off the hands. Hope raised, but in the next second, they were crushed when the door was pushed open, and a man's voice echoed into her ears. ''You got a nerve to escape from my clutches?'' The man said as he walked towards Harley. Behind him, another man followed him. He tied the girl and went to call Imogen to tell her that he has kidnapped the girl. He didnot expect the girl to wake up and also attempted to escape. She is not as weak as he thought.

Harley trembled at the sinister voice of the man. Still, she turned to the man and put up a nonchalant expression on her face. Of course, there were only two men with weapons carrying in their hands, but still, it's a ratio of 1: 2. If she is truthful to herself, she neither knows martial arts nor can withstand against two bulky men. With the light entered into the room, her eyes glanced over the shoulders, and she found a brick a few steps away from her. 

 ''Why did you kidnap me?'' She questioned, slowly taking a step towards the target. ''Who asked you to do it?''

''I am afraid the person who hired me doesn't like spilling the beans, dear'' The man named Axel chuckled and slowly took a step towards her. ''Stop right there.'' He ordered and then gestured his partner in crime. That was all he needed for an iron rod to land on Harley's knees. She cried in agony, for the hit was too sudden for her body to handle.

The pain spread throughout the body. Her body stumbled before she fell on the ground, gasping for air. The pain was unbearable as if someone blew a hole in her heart with magnum. She could feel her bones crack when she took the heavy hit causing her joints to bleed in. 

''Tch tch! Was it too much for your body to handle?'' He chuckled and squatted in front of Harley. He grazed her face with his gloved hands. A surge of electricity seared in his body as his lustful eyes peered her body from head to toe. The moment he saw her in the picture, he wanted to have her for himself tonight, but that older woman doesn't want to have any mishaps. Otherwise, it will affect his pay. If not he were bound to the mission, he would have had his way with this woman. 

''D_on't touch me.'' Harley felt nauseous at the mere touch of him, but she couldn't break herself free from him. ''My dad and brother will soon find you, and kill you.''

''Do you think we are fools?'' The man laughed again, amused by her words. ''You are wrong there again. There is no way your dad will know your whereabouts. This place is far, far away from the city, and no one can track this place.'' He continued. ''Don't worry. I am not going to kill you. My only mission is to break your legs, and I am done. If you cooperate with us, we will release you soon'' He felt the urge to remove the mask and kiss her lips as his lustful looks didnot leave her body, itching him to take her then and there.

''If it is money, I will pay m_ore....'' Harley negotiated. The man seems to have been distracted as his eyes were elsewhere. Although disgusted, Harley felt it was a chance given by heavens to escape. Seizing the chance, her hands slowly traveled upwards in search of the brick which she had seen a little earlier

''Brother, let's negotiate.'' The other man's greed piked up at Harley's offer. ''Her family is rich. If she pays us more than that_''

''You fool.'' Axel tore away from her body and looked at the other man with glaring eyes. ''She is trying to fool us with the negotiation. Once we release her, she will take her to... aaahhhh..''

A scream reverbarated the entire house. Axel held his head in agony, collapsing onto his knees when he felt something hard-knock his head.

''Brother!'' The other man screamed at the sight of his brother's state, and while his guard was down, Harley seized the chance and grabbed the iron rod and knocked his leg in a split second.

Just then, the room reverberated with helicopters whirling around the air. Harley's heart drummed in anticipation. Her dad and brother must have found her location. She lost all the hopes thinking that they wouldn't know about her whereabouts, but they found her. She has to manage a little bit of time. If she can escape from here, her dad will take care of the rest.

''Don't bother about me. Catch her!'' Axel shouted. He can hear the noises of cars; How did they find the location when they cleared all the evidence? He had another door to escape but not without teaching this woman a lesson.

Harley's bleeding knees didnot let her stand up even. She slowly started crawling to get out of this place as soon as possible. She barely took three steps when one of the men reached out to grab her ankle and pulled her firmly. 

''P_lease leave me.'' Harley pleaded. Her cries only intensified the pleasure in both the men. The iron hit on her knees had taken a worse toll on her body, numbing her senses, and with the man's now firm grip, her senses started to send reports back to her brain—bruises, cuts, scrapes everywhere. She can't take this anymore.

''How dare you to hit me, B*itch. Breaking your legs is not enough. I should have killed you in the first place,'' The man named Axel pulled a dagger from his pants. Harley's eyes widened, and before she transpired what's happening around her, a dagger pierced into her stomach. It seems the man was not satisfied and was about to stab on the wound again, and the other man dragged him by his arm. ''We have to leave, brother.'' In a split second, both escaped from the other end of the door.

Blood oozed out of her body, and her vision went blurry, and the last thing she heard was her mother's scream before she lost consciousness.
