Chapter 138 Crazy for you
Lu Yifeng went and sat down beside Xia Meilin. They were at the school gym and every kids were joining every activities that was programmed.
"He’s not here." Lu Yifeng said while he was watching the kids play.
"Yeah."
The person who was watching over Yong Xiao Yao was her nanny. Yong Xiao Yao was sitting alone on a chair while watching the others play. Little Melon noticed this that’s why he decided to go and accompany her.
"You don’t play with us?" Little Melon asked as he sat beside her.
"I easily get tired." She answered with a blank look on her face. She she was wearing a witch outfit and holding a small toy broom.
"Then Mello will accompany Yaoyao instead." He grinned at her.
From the opposite side of the gym, Xia Meilin saw how Little Melon keeps on talking with Yong Xiao Yao. "He likes her."
"Mm. He does."
"She’s my cousin." It would be wrong if Little Melon would continue to like her. "Should I do something about them?"
"They’re kids, let them be." Lu Yifeng didn’t mind since he knows something about the child because of the tips Yong Wei Qing gave him during the school’s camping.
Little Melon left Yong Xiao Yao and ran towards his parents. "Momma, dada, Mello will transfer to Yaoyao’s table."
"You’re leaving us here?" Xia Meilin pouted.
"Momma has dada." He grinned. He reached out his hands and took the pumkin basket from the table. The basket was filled with the cookies he baked together with Xia Meilin, last night.
"You can’t eat that for dinner. Eat something healthy first before you eat those with her, okay?" Xia Meilin said with a soft smile.
"Okay! Don’t worry momma, dada said that too much sugar is bad." After that, he went running back to the table where Yong Xiao Yao was sitting with her nanny.
When Yong Xiao Yao saw the cookies, her eyes sparkled in delight. But Little Melon said something to her which made her sulk. The two kids started eating the food that was given to them by the nanny.
Xia Meilin and Lu Yifeng was watching their son and they ended up chuckling together. When she heard a soft laugh coming from him, she turned to him. "Are you really Lu Yifeng?"
"If I am not Lu Yifeng, who should I be?" He asked as he looked back at her.
She shrugged her shoulders, "Who knows? You’re not the Lu Yifeng I know."
When she realized that the thoughts she have actually slipped out of her mouth, she avoided his gaze.
Lu Yifeng’s eyes softened. He knows how hard it is to have clashing memories of the past and presence. There are times where Lu Yifeng feared that while he was in a good relationship with Xia Meilin, the way she looked at him will change. This was all because of his past, he never wanted to see her frightened of him.
Because of his past, he feared that Xia Meilin will never be able to forgive him. And now, here she was, the Xia Meilin that he sinned against.
He touched her hand which startled her. She tried pulling her hand back but he held it in place. He gazed into her eyes and said, "I’m sorry."
Xia Meilin frowned, "Huh?"
A pained smile appeared in his lips, "Do you want me to disappear?"
His sudden question made her confused. "What?"
"If I asked for forgiveness, will you forgive me?"
A tear rolled down her cheek. This surprised her, why was she about to cry? She quickly wiped her face dry. With her memories clashing, she couldn’t decide her feelings well.
He raised her hand and placed a soft kiss on the back of it. He needs to hold back, it wasn’t the right time to tell her. She was pregnant, this topic will definitely be heavy for her.
"You’ve been acting strange for a while." He reasoned out. For now, he needs to pretend that he doesn’t know anything about their past. "I thought it was because of your mood swings but you keep on acting strange, Meilin. I’m worried. Did I do something wrong to you? I’m sorry if I did, okay?"
She stared at him for a while before she lowered her head. Of course, he’ll question her about this. He is not the Lu Yifeng she knows, before she was able to. remember her past life, their relationship was going well. She was afraid... afraid that if she allows him to get closer to her, she would forgive him. He was different, so different that her hatred was fading. She was like punching a pillow whenever she tried to get angry at him.
He let go of her hand and stood up. He went in front of her and offered his hand to her. "Will you dance with me?"
Xia Meilin raised her head and looked at his hand. She realized that the music that was playing was a slow music.
The children were on their tables, eating. At that moment, the center floor was empty and seeing this made her feel embarrass.
"Please?"
She pursed her lips. It won’t hurt if she allowed him, right? Besides, he was with her so dancing with him won’t be that embarrassing, right?
Xia Meilin placed her hand on his and stood up. They walked towards the center and stood there. Lu Yifeng faced her and smiled.
She looked at him and smiled a bit. For some reason, seeing his gentle smile helped her calm down. She placed her hands on his shoulders as Lu Yifeng placed his hands on her waist.
They caught the attention of others. The parents find it sweet and romantic when they saw them because of this, the other married couples that saw them decided to join them.
When the children saw this, they ignored it. Slow dance like that was boring in their eyes. If it were a lively dance, they would go and join them. Although, in the end, some children wanted to dance so even if it was a slow music, some children were dancing with lively movements, some copied the way adults danced.
Though Lu Yifeng and Xia Meilin didn’t notice any of this. They were staring at each other as if they were in a world of their own.
"Mr. Lu, why are you like this?" Xia Meilin couldn’t help but ask.
"That’s because I’m your husband, Mrs. Lu." He chuckled.
"Not all husband are good with their wife." She said coldly.
He leaned and rested his forehead on hers. "That may be the case, but let’s not care about the others, okay?"
Her face started heating up because of the closeness of their faces.
"I love you, that’s what matters." He whispered softly.
In her previous life, when Lu Yifeng said these words to her, she found it funny and disgusting. But this time, hearing those words from him made her heart skip a bit. "You’re crazy."
He straightened his back and smiled. "Crazy for you."
She bit her lower lip and lowered her head. "Stupid." She whispered as she wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulder.
