Chapter 162 - PRIMEA'S WEAPONS
Five people gathered in the living room of the orphanage. Blue placed five teacups on the table before sitting down next to Kris.
Usually, only four people were having a 'meeting' in the room, but today there was a newcomer who was sitting on a single sofa.
"You still look tense, Jule. Do you still feel uncomfortable around Jack?" Kevin asked the newcomer.
Yeah, the newcomer was Julia Concord. After they were done with the examination procedure in the laboratory, they immediately headed to the orphanage to discuss some matters.
"It's not like that," Julia answered as she glimpsed at Jack, who was sitting next to Kevin.
What she said seemed to be opposite to her feelings. From her glance alone, people could see that she wasn't uncomfortable.
"You have seen the result yourself, right? Jack is now a human, so I hope you can accept him slowly. He's dedicated to being a good person now," Kevin replied.
What Kevin just said was true. The result of the examination on Jack's body was the same as Kris and Blue's. The machine told that Jack was 100% a human now.
"I know," Julia replied. "I need some more time, but I won't do something dangerous again. I promise."
Julia was still peeking at Jack, and the latter was also staring at the lady awkwardly. Kevin knew that both Julia and Jack didn't feel comfortable sitting together like this, but he didn't have any other choice. He had to gather them all to collect more information.
Kevin finally just smiled and nodded his head. He completely trusted Andre's wife. Even though Blue had told him not to trust people easily, he didn't think Julia would betray his trust.
"Drink your tea first, Jule. It will make you feel more relaxed," Kevin said softly to the lady.
Julia nodded as she stretched her hand out to take the teacup. She then sipped the drink carefully. The tea was still hot, so she had to be careful while drinking it.
The four people just staring at the lady silently. Even after the lady put the cup back on the table, they were still quiet.
Julia seemed to feel uneasy under the gazes, but she didn't say anything. She just cleared her throat as she opened her bag and pulled out a tablet PC.
"You need my help with the weapons that were used by the werewolves in the last war, right? I have collected some information about that," she stated as she placed down the tablet PC on the table.
That was right. Kevin had sent an email to Julia about the matter. Julia had declared that she was willing to help if Kevin needed anything, so Kevin didn't want to waste the opportunity and immediately contacted the pregnant lady again.
It was gambling, though. He dared to gamble because he trusted Julia.
"This is the information," Julia spoke again after a transparent screen extended from the tablet PC and floated in the air. "Is it the right weapon?"
The other people simultaneously paid attention to the screen that displayed an image of a weapon. Jack seemed to recognize the weapon.
"This is exactly the weapon that was used by the werewolves," the tattoed man confirmed. "I also used the weapon back then, so I can confirm that it's the right weapon."
Julia nodded curtly when she heard the confirmation. "The weapons were confiscated by the military," she explained. "The Intelligence Agency got some information, but it's not too much."
The three people now understood the situation. Previously, they had been wondering which department had confiscated the weapons, and now their questions were answered.
"Do you know the origin of the weapons, Jule?" Kevin asked the lady.
Julia nodded before she pointed her index finger to the screen. "Can you see the code 'PR' here? It's the abbreviation of Primea. The weapons made by the country always have this code."
Kevin and the rest were taken aback as they stared at the screen. Julia was right. There was a code that was a combination of alphabets and numbers. The alphabets were "PR," and that was the abbreviation of Primea.
"So, the weapons were imported from Primea?" Kris asked the pregnant lady.
Julia shifted her gaze from the tablet PC and stared at Kris. "That's possible," she answered. "Primea is the only country that uses that kind of code."
The atmosphere grew tenser afterward. Kris and Kevin were the ones who went to Rodein to investigate the case and accidentally found something fishy about the weapons, so both of them looked very shocked. They had expected that something was fishy when they were investigating in Rodein, and their suspicion was proven right. There was indeed something wrong with Rodein and Primea.
"How about the weapons that were used by the werewolves eighteen years ago, Jule?" Kevin asked again.
Aside from the weapons used in the last war, Kevin also asked Julia to look for information about the weapons that were used in the war eighteen years ago. He wanted to know the correlation between the two wars.
Julia didn't immediately answer as she swiped the screen. The screen now displayed some weapons that looked different from the previous weapon.
"The weapons also have 'PR' as the code," Julia answered.
The other people looked at the screen seriously. They all saw the code "PR" on the weapons.
"So, the werewolves may have been using the weapons from Primea since eighteen years ago?" Kris asked again.
"It seems like that," Julia answered.
"If it was like that, why didn't the government investigate the case since long time ago?" Now, it was Jack's turn to ask a question.
Julia suddenly looked up and turned to Jack. She gazed at the blonde man coldly, and the gaze made Jack shiver.
"The weapons issue is the responsibility of the military. They are the ones who investigate the case about the weapons," Julia explained.
The four people in the room didn't know much about the internal affair of the government, so they had no clue about how they worked.
"Then, how about Rodein?" Kevin asked again.
"Rodein?" Julia parroted. "What about Rodein?" She asked back instead of answering.
Kevin glanced at Kris for a moment before he focused on the lady again. "I and Kris were investigating Rodein some time ago," he answered. "We got some information from the investigation."
Julia looked surprised after she heard Kevin's statement. "You were investigating Rodein? How could you do that? Doing that kind of investigation by yourself is dangerous, Kevin," she said as she gazed at Kevin in disbelief.
Kevin smiled sheepishly at the lady. "We couldn't tell anyone about it, Jule. We couldn't trust anyone," he replied.
The pregnant lady just shook her head. "You should have told me about that," she stated. "I couldn't help much, but at least I could give you some information so that you didn't need to personally investigate Rodein."
Kevin didn't say anything and just smiled at the lady.
"You don't believe in anyone including me, right, Kevin?"
Kevin was slightly taken aback by Julia's next question.
"It's not like that, Jule," Kevin immediately denied the accusation. "You are right that I didn't believe in anyone before, but now I trust you, Jule. I know you are a reliable person."
Julia was still glaring at Kevin for a few seconds, but then she sighed as she looked away from the scientist.
"I understand," she replied softly. "It's necessary to be cautious at times like this," she added as she looked up at Kevin again. "Then, what did you find in Rodein?"
Kevin could breathe a sigh of relief when he saw Julia was no longer angry at him. He then started explaining his findings.
"We met someone who witnessed the weapons smuggling from Primea to Calenta. Her husband and her son worked for someone in the city, and they died from the explosion in the ship that transported the weapons from Primea to Calenta."
Julia was listening earnestly and didn't say anything for a few seconds. It seemed that she was surprised to hear Kevin's explanation.
"You found that kind of information?" She then asked the tall man.
The said man nodded before answering, "The lady suspected that someone deliberately caused the explosion to get rid of pieces of evidence."
Julia fell silent after hearing Kevin's answer. It seemed that she was thinking hard that her previously smooth forehead was now wrinkled.
The other people in the room didn't make a sound as they were patiently waiting for Julia's response. They had no choice but to rely on Julia a lot. Julia was the only one who knew about the country inside out.
They could hear the lady sighed before she threw a question, "Did that happen eighteen years ago?"
Kevin and the rest looked stunned when they heard Julia's question. They were sure that Kevin didn't mention the time earlier.
"Yeah," the scientist answered. "Do you know something happened in Rodein eighteen years ago?"
The lady was still frowning when she heard Kevin's question.. Not long after, she sighed once again before answering, "I think I know something about the incident."
