The Black Necromancer

Chapter 413 Strange Necromancer

After several intense hours, the battle that engulfed the wall of Magair finally came to an end. The victors were the rebels, thanks to the support of Leon's Undead Army.

If it were not for Leon's interference, the rebels would have been beaten back without any suspense. The effects of Forest Heart were just that exaggerated! The boost it gave to the Elves who drew power from it was all encompassing, boosting the Strength, Agility, Vitality, and other aspects. With such a sudden and drastic boost, they were sure to prevail in an engagement with an enemy that was caught off guard.

"Master." Kaladin bowed in front of Leon as Leon landed at the foot of the defeated tree monster.

"Well done." Leon nodded his head and examined the monster before raising his hand. An ominous wave of power rippled out with Leon at the center. It spread in all directions, enveloping the tree monster, as well as the fallen soldiers in battle, both defenders and rebels alike.

Whoosh!

Leon felt more than half of his entire mana reserves empty out in one moment as he collected all the souls and transformed them into his loyal soldiers. The strain of converting so many beings, as well as up to a dozen A ranks, was immense. Tens of thousands of soldiers was not a small number, especially when there was a good number of high ranking people among them.

If it were not for the fact that Leon could use Divinity to allay the strain, then he would not have been able to go through with it all at once, and would have needed to just store the remaining souls within the Abyss of the Undead.

"A splendid display of your power! With each battle, you grow stronger and so does your army!" Nero chipped in with his daily dose of fanatical praise, going down on one knee and bowing his head.

Leon could only sigh silently and accept the praise. With another thought, he summoned the new additions to his army. There was no need to keep them and waste more mana to summon them again later. Instead, they could continue to keep guard around the wall.

In fact, in some distant areas, the battle of the wall still continued, but they were far away and Leon could not be bothered. Instead, his army continued to spread while destroying any forms of resistance that was still put up by the defenders.

Whoosh!

A strong gust of wind blew over the main site of the battle and Leon's intuition shifted. He felt an ominous presence quickly approaching and turned to look into the distance.

There, a black spot appeared in the sky. With each passing moment, the black spot grew larger and larger in Leon's vision until he was able to clearly identify the figure.

"A dragon?" Leon was confused. There were many dragon tribes that were spread around the world. Although not all of them were officially recognized by the main Dragon Clans, they still existed. There were many areas in the world where they were settled and quietly existed without disturbance.

"Has it perhaps made a deal with the Elves and is coming to fight us?" Grokus stepped forward and voiced his thoughts curiously.

Even after hearing a possible reason for this strange black dragon's appearance, Leon still felt uneasy.

"Get ready for a battle. Something tells me that trouble is here." Leon said apprehensively.

Indeed, it was just as he had said.

The flight speed of the black dragon was impressive. From the time it appeared in the horizon to its arrival at the wall of Magair, only a couple of minutes had passed. The giant dragon with a body length of about thirty five meters and a wingspan of a bit over fifty meters carried with it a mighty wind as it arrived at the broken wall.

Boom!

The wind exploded and the dragon opened its mouth, revealing a black robed figure standing on its tongue.

"Obsidian King, Leon Cromwell! I will give you one chance, surrender now, or die!" The hooded figure said, revealing it to be a female.

"INSOLENCE!!!" Kaladin's voice was like thunder as his body lifted up above the ground. He floated a meter above the ground, his body crackling with lightning and his eyes ablaze with mana.

Like him, Leon's other summons had been rubbed the wrong way by the hooded being's declaration. The air that had only just begun settling after the battle for Magair's wall became charged and heated again as the two sides faced off against each other.

"I see you are not willing to surrender. Fine, then. I shall drag you to my master in pieces." The hooded being said and raised her hand, revealing pale white skin. She pointed to the sky and opened her hand. In the next moment, a staff with a black bird skull on its top appeared in her hand and she grasped it tightly.

"COME FORTH! ARMY OF THE NETHERWORLD!!!" She cried out and the sky darkened. Clouds gathered in the sky and black lightning flashed as hundreds of black portals began opening in the sky and on the ground. The scene was highly reminiscent of Leon summoning his Undead Army.

"She is a Necromancer too." Leon realized and took on a more serious mindset. He could feel how unfathomable this Necromancer seemed to be already. He could feel that she was no weaker than himself, maybe even stronger. And not only that, but it would seem that she was more experienced than him. After all, his staggering growth rate aside, there was no way he could compare to a Necromancer that no doubt had several centuries to grow and accumulate a stable and solid foundation.

ROOOOAAARRR!

The black dragon in the sky roared loudly as the Necromancer stepped out of its mouth and hovered in the sky beside it. It looked down with red eyes and opened its mouth, releasing a black Dragon's Breath.
