Chapter 402 One Overpowering Attack
Leon was collecting the blood of the Elves. The blood of high level Elves was a rare and powerful material that could be used to craft a variety of powerful high end items. With the material value of this blood, there was no way that Leon would let it go. The uniqueness of it all made his greed flare.
Naturally, the Elves knew the value of their own blood and when they saw Leon putting away the blood of their fallen comrades, they were enraged!
"Stop him! We must not let him desecrate our fallen comrades!" The declaration was filled with righteous fury and the Elves all let go of their restraints and unleashed their most powerful attacks. Spells and incredibly destructive techniques rained down on Leon's position at once.
Seeing this, Leon's eyes narrowed. He was not shaken by the supposed strength of this joint hail of attacks. He spread open his arms and a pulse of thick magic spread out in a spherical shape, creating a dark purple barrier around himself.
BOOOM!!!!!
The attacks struck the barrier and detonated, causing an oversized explosion that caused the entire cliffside to quake and shake. But the cliff was too sturdy. The same could not be said for Black Iron Fort, though.
Entire portions of the fort crumbled away when faced with the shockwaves or even the direct effects of the explosion of all those attacks. Hundreds of people were thrown into the air, whether they were rebels or defenders did not matter anymore. They were all blown away by the destructive might of that attack.
Several levels of the fort that were entrenched underground were dug through by the explosion, destroying countless items and things that were underground. An unknown number of people also lost their lives.
When the ruckus finally calmed down somewhat, a strong wind blew through the damaged fort, clearing up the smoke and dust. The jaws of the Elves went slack when they saw Leon standing on a patch of floating land, amidst the destruction that had been brought by their powers. Not even a breeze blew his white clothes.
"That was cute. Let me show you what true destruction looks like." Leon smiled. At the same time, he gave Nedra a small instruction to clear out all the rebels in the fort. He was going to destroy the entire fort in one fell swoop.
Whoosh.
Leon's feet left the ground and the small patch of rock that he had been standing on after the Elves' attack fell down to the deep pit that had been created by their attacks. He floated a dozen meters into the air before stopping. His eyes penetrated all the walls and could see all the listless bodies of the rebels and defenders, all laying lifeless in the rubble.
"Witness this power and understand true despair." Leon's voice was deep and resounded through the hearts of all who heard. He held up his hand and a small dark sphere of mana was condensed. A heavy and pressurizing aura spread through the fort as Leon held the small dark in his grasp.
"One last chance, surrender or die." He paused and decided to extend a grace to the Elves.
"I will die for my Empire!" Without pausing, the strongest High A rank among the defenders declared and jumped forward, holding his sword in hand.
The actions of their leader invigorated the spirits of the defenders and they all declared their loyalty to Rivera and charged at Leon.
Seeing this, Leon simply nodded his head and accepted this. "You have made your choice." He let the small orb drop to the ground. In a moment, it had touched the ground beneath him and the incredibly dense mana within it was detonated.
...
It was as if all the sound in the world had been drained away in that single moment. There was no loud explosion, just a profound emptiness that was caused by the orb that Leon had dropped.
Black light flickered and the black orb quickly grew in size. Wherever it passed, matter ceased to exist. A powerful suction force came from the orb, threatening to pull everything into its depths. The weaker Elves were unable to fight against the pull of the gravity bomb that Leon rarely used, and only the A ranks were able to resist it to an extent.
Leon did not limit the growth of the gravity bomb. With each passing moment, it grew larger and larger, and before long, it had swallowed almost half of the entire Black Iron Fort. Most of the Elves within the fort had already been killed by the bomb while the bodies of the ones that were already dead had been the first to go.
Leon felt thousands of souls become free and dislodged as their lives were doused by his spell. With a flash of his eyes, all these souls were attracted to his body. He kept all of them within his Abyss of the Undead for now. Some of them would become soldiers for his Undead Army while the rest would be absorbed by him in order to boost his growth.
Bam!
As Leon was focusing on the greater amount of lives that were being extinguished, a pillar of golden light suddenly struck down from the sky above. Within it, a lean Elf with golden hair and a jawline to die for appeared. His eyes were steely as he stared down at the barrier around the destroyed fort that had managed to survive the attack he had arrived with.
"Leon? Looks like a big shot has arrived." Nedra said as she floated beside Leon.
"Looks like it." Leon nodded and looked up. "Get everyone ready to teleport out of here. I can stall him while you guys retreat." He said.
"Alright." Nedra nodded and vanished together with River, who was still under her control. She was eager to fight, but she did not try to argue with Leon. It would be best to fight against the powerhouses of Rivera on favorable terms. They could not risk it when they were in the middle of an operation like this unless it was unavoidable.
