Chapter 346 The Ten Knights Of The Nameless Order
After shutting Yaika up, Leon continued to test the strength of his various skills one by one. He did not test his Supreme Skills, but rather, the normal ones that had all advanced to Advanced grade. Yaika watched all this with bright and fascinated eyes.
She also knew her strength very well. Several years ago, she had gone into seclusion after reaching the Peak of A rank. When she returned some time ago, she had returned with the ability to manipulate Divinity.
However, her ability was still rather rudimentary and rough. She could barely control this powerful energy, and any spell she integrated it into was likely to fall apart and explode in her face. But in the short time she had spent with Leon here, she had seen him easily and smoothly cast several spells that contained hints of this powerful energy. Just this alone was enough to tell her how out of her league Leon was. She felt a wave of burning desire light up inside her. The desire to grow stronger!
Several hours later, Leon let out a sigh as the ambient mana in the air around him settle down. For several hundred meters around him the ground had been overturned and scorched by his display of powerful spells. He made sure to hold back, though, as going all out with his spells would cause too much damage to the land which he planned to build his empire upon.
He turned around and made his way back to the forward base with Yaika following behind him quietly. He had noticed that ever since he began testing his spells, she had grown quiet and moody. But he did not say anything and kept on moving. After they reached the forward base, Yaika mumbled a farewell and went her way while Leon went to a field at the side where he could feel the four other Obsidian Skeletons aside from himself.
From afar, they had already sensed his approach through the invisible connection that bound their kind together, as well as their sharp senses. They immediately knelt in greeting to Leon, to which he waved his hand to acknowledge them.
"Rise." He ordered.
As soon as Leon got close enough, he was able to spot the excitement that hung around Nero. He was happy that more of his kind had been created by Leon, and was eager for them to prove their strength to Leon. He was like an older brother who had just been introduced to his long lost younger brothers.
"Nero, Kaladin. How was the battle when you two arrived?" Leon asked the two of them. As he spoke, he could feel the approach of his other summons that had been scattered around the base upon his return with Yaika.
"The battle at the time was already nearing a close, Master. We only helped to finish it up faster. We were unable to kill any A ranks, though, as none were present at the time." Kaladin gave the report.
"I see. Fine, then. I have a job for the two of you." Leon nodded and said. "Kaladin, I want you to train Daren and show him the proper way to use his powers as a mage. He may have been born strong, but he is still inexperienced. The same goes for you, Nero. Show Raegan the way of a warrior." Leon told them sternly.
"As you wish, Master!" The four Obsidian Skeletons went down on their knees and bowed with their right hands on their chests, like loyal subjects paying respect to their king.
Leon felt it was a bit weird this time and quickly stopped them before walking away to leave them to their business. He also left his other elite summons with them to handle whatever they needed to do.
There was something else that he had not tried because of Yaika's presence. He quickly teleported far away from the forward base, and after reaching an empty area with no one present to watch him, he sat down on a chair conjured through Earth magic.
"It's time to check this out." He let out a deep breath as the mana around him turned turbulent. His Domain spread out over a wide area and his mind reached into the depths of the Abyss, searching for those ten familiar but still strange lifeforces that had appeared during Divinity's Bout. It did not take long before he found them and used his mind to rouse them from their slumber.
Ten tall, dark being rose from the darkness beneath Leon's feet. They were tall, roughly three meters tall, with pitch black armor, and an aura of death and despair hanging around them.
When they were all before Leon, their eyes flashed with white light as they came to, and then they fell to one knee and bowed their heads.
"The Ten Knights of the Nameless Order greet the Master!" Ten voiced bellowed at once as the ten knights greeted Leon. Leon just stared dumbfoundedly at the ten of them. Ten Knights? What Nameless Order? What nonsense were they speaking?
"Tell me, what nameless order are you speaking of?" Leon asked them. The one directly in front of him rose its head but did not stand up.
"The Nameless Order was an organization founded by the Paragon of Undeath. We were his sword and spear, eyes and ears. We were his shadow and his light. We lived and died for him." The knight said.
"The Paragon of Undeath?!" Leon was shocked and immediately stood up. He could still vividly recall his encounter with that vile being. To find out that these ten knights were his servants was something greatly disturbing! How did they even enter his Abyss of the Undead? Why were they here?
As if sensing Leon's confusion, the knight spoke up again. "Worry not, Master. We no longer serve the Paragon of Undeath, and he believes us to be dead. He is no longer out master, and we hold no connection to him. Now, we live and we die for you. We shall be your sword and your spear, your eyes and your ears. We serve you and no other!"
