Chapter 486
486 Losing someone you love can do that to you...
Former Marshal Yi couldn’t help but take a step forward his eyes sour like he was about break down. His eyes glistened reflecting the floating screen in front of him.
Hydra took a hesitant step forward under Yi Zhen’s control but Raylan remained rooted in place with snow building at its feet.
“Che-chen,” stammered Yi Zhen as a tear flowed down his cheek. He took another step forward and reached out his hand only for the ground beneath their feet to start shaking like something bad was about to happen.
“We need to close off the hole drilled by that beast. Modify your plasma guns with this,” she said tossing them canisters with the letters FC on them.
“Fericellite,” said Yi Zhen.
Chronos modified its plasma gun and with a click, the canister was in place. “Do you have a problem with it? It’s the coldest element in the federation,” she said as another shockwave almost knocked them off their feet.
“This stuff is illegal because it’s rare. How did you get your hands on it?” he asked while staring at her with a complicated expression.
“Take it or leave it, former Marshal,” she replied before her mech flew into the sky and disappeared into the thick mist of dense snow.
Yi Zhen didn’t argue anymore. He fixed the canister in the plasma gun while glancing at his son through the mech screen.
.....
“Welcome back son,” he said before leading him to the focal point that was on the verge of exploding.
Three mechs hovered above the drilled hole and began to fire their plasma guns. The tremors didn’t stop, in fact, they intensified with a high pressure steam shooting out of the hole. But after a few minutes, the shockwaves drastically reduced and the three of them heaved a sigh of relief.
The whole time Yi Chen didn’t say anything. He was studying the two mechs with curiosity. He knew the other one was his father and the woman who looked like his wife must be his mother in law. He suddenly felt nervous. How he wished Zi Han was here so he could introduce him to her.
Meanwhile, Zi Han was grimacing as he glared at this troublesome beast. Both of them were still a little weak with barely recovered mental power and had to perform multiple space jumps just so they could catch up to this nonsense of a beast.
Yeoh Jun grasped the viper’s tail and squeezed it hard while preventing the beast from opening another portal and making a break for it. The viper opened its mouth and the light emanating from the cracks on its body got brighter and brighter before the inside of its mouth shot out searing flames.
Yeoh Jun pointed the gun into its mouth and decisively pulled the trigger. When the heat met the biting chill high pressure steam shot through obscuring his vision.
Zi Han locked onto the target and a series of shots followed striking the creature’s head accurately. The beast that was trying to free its tail bellowed and turned its glare back at the mech in front of him.
The recoil that never bothered Zi Han before seemed painful today. He frowned his breathing heavy but he didn’t take his eyes off the target.
In the middle of an empty deep space, two mechs hovered steadily while tearing apart an unruly beast.
Yeoh Jun made a bold move squeezing the trigger and tearing apart the tail of the beast.
With a loud shrill cry, the beast opened another portal and vanished again. When it reappeared it was on a desolate planet and rolled in a grassland several times before stopping.
Pained cries and angry bellows echoed in the empty grasslands its nose flaring with steam coming out of it. It was like a raging bull that was injured.
Two minutes in and there were repels in the air and a portal opened before two mechs appeared. “It’s much more troublesome to deal with than its creator,” said Zi Han as a long sword appeared in his hand.
“You just killed a man by beating him with a belt. That right there is insane. Did your mother teach you that?” he asked and Zi Han chuckled ignoring the mortified look on his face like he was looking at a monster he gave birth to.
“Well, mum once killed a guy by clobbering him with her eight inch heels so... you knew what you signed up for,” said Zi Han before his mech raised the long sword and stabbed through the back of the beast into a kebab ready for roasting.
“I know but she wasn’t this unhinged before,” he replied and Zi Han glanced back at him before saying,
“Losing someone you love can do that to you... For you, she was willing to burn the entire federation to the ground and join you in death. If it weren’t for me I am sure she wouldn’t have restrained herself.”
Yeoh Jun’s chest tightened like a heavy stone was weighing him down stifling his breath. He knew what Zi Xingxi was capable of but he didn’t think she would go as far as burning the entire federation.
“She loves you so much and I can’t imagine how happy she will be to see you,” said Zi Han again before gesturing to the beast nailed to the ground and asking, “Do you want to end it?”
Yeoh Jun nodded his head as a war hammer appeared in Igneous’ hand. Zi Han’s eyes widened as he curse, “The fuck. Iggy, did you short me? You had something that interesting but hid it from me?”
Yeoh Jun chuckled while spinning the handle. “It knows that this is for my use only,” he said as he ambled closer. He stood in front of the beast having difficulty breathing and tilted his head slightly looking into its eyes.
“If you weren’t so unruly I would have tamed you. I really could use a pet,” he said before raising the war hammer. Zi Han stood there watching with a blank expression.
