Chapter 465
465 ... impulsive and daring.
A slight quirk appeared at the corner of Yeoh Lang’s lips as he stared at this man who held no respect for him, not even an ounce.
According to the information this man had come into the city and slept in one of their wealthy hotels. He then got into a scuffle with another man before disappearing.
This had to be the person he was looking for. Everything about him was very suspicious.
“You must be from the edge of the planet because you seem not to have any respect for your king,” said Yeoh Lang tapping the armrest of the throne with his finger.
Here is the thing, Zi Han could kill anyone in a matter of minutes but his acting skills weren’t on par at all. He could have knelt down and pretended like he was a local citizen but he just couldn’t do it.
“You might be their king but you aren’t mine,” he said his voice as monotonous as though discussing the weather.
Yeoh Lang clenched the armrest chair tightly but still kept a stiff smile on his face. His authority had been blatantly challenged in front of everyone so yes, he was in a very bad mood.
Priestess Fan stomped over and acted impulsively. She tried to kick the back of his knees hard and force him to kneel but before she could lay a hand on him, he grasped her neck and lifted her before slamming her hard on the floor.
When she opened her eyes they were as fierce as a Siberian tiger on the prowl but as she looked into those eyes she was suddenly in awe. There was something about this man’s eyes that made her docile.
.....
Zi Han let her go and she scurried away. “I respect what you have going on but I am not going to kneel before you. If you insist I will gladly pay a fine,” he said but Yeoh Lang could give a rat’s arse.
He just wanted to prove that this man was the man he was looking for thus with a clenched jaw he pointed at the boy and the three people still kneeling on the ground.
“Take a good look. Is he the one who saved you,” he said and four pairs of eyes looked at Zi Han.
The attitude was similar but the voice and face were different. This couldn’t be the person who saved them so they shook their heads.
“Fine,” said Yeoh Lang but Zi Han knew this wasn’t over. A man like that wouldn’t give up easily.
“Gentlemen, I apologise for wasting your time. As an apology, I would like to invite you to a feast tonight right after executing these four people... You may leave,” he continued to say before he got up with a flick of his sleeve.
This was of course said on purpose. He knew that the person he was looking for wasn’t simple after all they were from the Federation. They had a few tricks up their sleeves hence the idea that they could change faces wasn’t so far-fetched.
They could hide their face but they couldn’t hide their care for these people. If he could save them once, he could save them again. Yeoh Lang just had to wait for that moment. Let’s see then if this man would still be smug.
Zi Han appeared as calm as ever but he was seething in anger as he watched the black robed men and women carry Nayeli, Nathan, their mother, and the little boy away.
From this, he knew he couldn’t afford to waste any more time. He turned on his heels to leave but priestess Fan blocked his path. Her expression was blank but there were complicated emotions flickering in her eyes. She had been obsessed with pleasing Yeoh Lang for years and she purposefully studied everything to do with the royal family that was robbed from them by the federation.
According to the records they were said to be gods among men with flames like that of a phoenix and distinct eyes like that of a fox. With each step, they took they would leave behind a divine presence that gave hope to the hopeless.
This person in front of them looked nothing like the recorded divine appearance but he made her feel some type of way.
Zi Han glared at her before stepping aside and walking away. When he reached outside he found that his boyfriend wasn’t where he left him.
His heart lurched as he looked around. Soon he spotted him standing at the bottom of the temple stairs and his lips that were normal before were now split.
Zi Han felt a sense of relief wash over him as he walked over there. The first thing he asked was, “What happened to your lip?”
Well, what happened was that Yi Chen was still pissed off about that guy named Khalid who had the balls to touch his bae so what did he do?
When he saw him walk away with a cloth on his throat wiping away the blood from the cut, Yi Chen followed him. As soon as they turned the corner Yi Chen beat the shit out of him.
During the scuffle, Khalid managed to land a punch but that was it. That was game over. If he hadn’t fought back he would have left that place with a bruise or two. It was because of that that he couldn’t walk for a month without the assistance of crutches. This was the perfect example of a fuck around and find out moment.
“I got into a fight. It’s nothing,” said Yi Chen while draping his arms around Zi Han’s shoulders.
Zi Han’s brows furrowed as he reprimanded him. “I wasn’t even gone for that long. Who did you fight with?” he asked and Yi Chen kissed his cheek before answering honestly,
“He touched my man and thinks he could walk away scot-free. He won’t dare next time.”
Zi Han, “...”
Is it just him or does Yi Chen seem to have gotten worse than before? He seemed more impulsive and daring.
“It looks like you are the one who got beaten instead,” said Zi Han with a light chuckle.
“You should see the other guy. He won’t be talking for the next two days or so... so you don’t have to worry.”
