Chapter 357 News Spreading like Wildfire
357 News Spreading like Wildfire
Should I say "as expected"?
Not even an hour after the meeting ended, I already received news that the three who were given 300 units of guns each managed to sell them all. Furthermore, they gathered orders for bullets—roughly 1 million rounds in total.
"That's too many..."
We do have some stock of bullets, but that number would dent our inventory significantly. After all, the bullets were made thinking that I, alone, would be using them.
An order is an order, so we had no choice but to comply, or else we might lose our first batch of customers. However, I passed the merchants a note saying that the bullets would be limited to 1,000 rounds per gun every month.
That was already a little too much, in my opinion, since the guns sold to them were all sniper rifles. Firing 1,000 rounds per month would mean they would use up 33 bullets a day. If they have good aim, then that would be equivalent to 33 demons above their levels.
The bullet was priced per piece, roughly 100 credits for each. Meaning that the total order for the day would reach a grand total of 1 billion. Half of that would return to our country's funds, while the other half would be split between ember and the merchants, as discussed.
Of course, if they marked up the price, then the extra dough they made would be theirs to keep. The only thing I warned them of was overpricing, which would disrupt our future plans. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"If we're selling more guns, then we'd need more bullets."
The casing wasn't a problem. With the dwarves' portable bullet shell maker, we can make empty shells faster than we can even use up all of them. The problem was filling up the bullets with energy.
Currently, the guys at the Luo and Seimei who were at rest were handling the filling of energy, but if we want to have a large inventory of bullets ready, then we would need more hands.
"I guess I can ask those girls?"
The Succubus Tamers staying in the Debauchery Hall were technically free all the time. The only time they would move is if I gave them the order or if Ember and the others asked for something from them.
If we ask all of them, then we can create hundreds of thousands of bullets a day. Maybe I'll turn it into one of their jobs and give them rewards based on performance. Well, either way, that's something we need to discuss personally later.
"Phew..."
I leaned against my chair, breathing a long sigh of relief.
Ember was already working on the next batch of guns, creating more than double the amount we sold locally. Still, the next batch would be the same number and would be sold tomorrow, making it seem like the manufacturing of the guns takes a lot more time than it actually does.
"Tomorrow, the new officials that we appointed would be coming to office. This place wouldn't be as quiet as it is now..."
I thought I was someone who loved some peace and quiet, but if the place is this silent, I feel restless instead. Having a little more hustle and bustle around would be for the best.
I turned to look at the clock mounted on the wall, something that I asked Ember to make, and saw that it was already approaching midnight. The bulk of documents that came from Millinda and the other two took a bit of time to clean up.
"Time to go home..."
I stood up, opening a portal straight to my bedroom. Fortunately, but a bit saddening at the same time, none of the girls were present in the room. Fina, along with Minerva and Hekate, were already more than satisfied, so I doubt the others would let them skip the line and visit me again.
Ember was busy with gun manufacturing, while Fatima was helping her with the optimization and modifying the shapes to be a lot more abstract without adding any functionality, making it harder to copy.
Fang and Igni, along with Judy and Yorm, were out on the frontlines, serving their time in place of the others, who had other tasks at hand. I was actually surprised that Judy and Yorm volunteered to go since I hadn't seen them part with Fina willingly before.
"Ugh,"
I groaned as I fell on the bed face-down. Although I was just sitting the entire day, talking with others, and signing documents, all of those combined would still be tiring. As I closed my eyes, I entered dreamland without any delay.
The next day, the first news that entered my ears was that the rumors about the gun had already reached the other kingdoms. I was surprised at how fast they picked up on this information, making me doubt our country's counterintelligence ability.
"Wait, we don't have such a department implemented yet."
I scratched my head, adding another item to my extra-long to-do list.
After I had a short breakfast, I went straight to the office at the Royal Capital's Castle. Having the coordinates for this place directly is convenient after all. Since I can just open a portal and come and go directly whenever I want to,.
"Good morning, President Will."
As soon as I landed at the president's office, a few figures were already standing on either side of the walls. The one who greeted me had a familiar face, bowing her head deeply.
"Secretary Yu Na. Good morning to you too."
As I greeted Yu Na, the previous mayor of the capital city and now my secretary, I turned to the rest of those gathered in the room.
Vice President Maximillian Vergil. Prime Minister Luo Meng Yao. Minister of Defense, Karran Helios. Minister of Treasury, Millinda Quartz. Along with a few nominated blue-collared cabinet officials, unfamiliar to me, to handle the bulk of the work.
"Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your first day with your new posts."
I smiled at them, seeing that most of them had nervous looks on their faces. Well, they should be. After all, we're basically starting from scratch.
'I hope they're prepared to go without sleep for a few days straight.'
Now that we have the complete team at hand, it's time to amend the laws of the country!
