Chapter 146: VII Unexpected Twist: Another Earth?
After thinking of what happened in the Kine Village. Elijah sat with arms crossed as he shot a cold look at the red-haired female who was visible shaking before him.
"What about you start explaining yourself quicker."
"I guess I owe an explanation to you." The red-haired female said apologetically and Elijah just nodded: "Yes I think you owe."
"I am Mio, a Scarlet Spirit Dragon. The leader of the Blood Dragon Tribe is my elder sister. Weeks ago, I kept having dreams of people turning into monstrous creatures and Peuh being wiped out of the stars. Then I saw a Masked man, he named himself as "The Guardian" and told me that all of that will happen if I not find the man who carries the stars on his back and give the my Clan's treasure. Of course I did not believe in him at first, but then he showed me some of his power and even now I shiver just by thinking of that moment."
Elijah remained thoughtful for a while before a ridiculous idea reached his mind: "Did the mask this Guardian happen to be similar to this one?" He took a the enchanted mast out of the spatial pocket and showed it to her. She took the mask from his hand and observed carefully. Suddenly she stood up and exclaimed aloud: "Wow! It is exactly this one. How did you get it?"
"Well, a magician always keeps his secrets. But your information has really helped me. Now where is the treasure you talked about." He could not help but feel curious about what kind of treasure the one who could possibly another one of his future selves want him to have.
From her bracelet, she took a fist-sized dark-red oval stone and handed it to him, "Many eras ago, an ancestor of mine saved the life of a lone traveler in a mortal world and after that when the first war between humans and beasts started, my ancestor and his sons were nearly killed when the same traveler from before appeared and saved them. He was handed this stone to them and said that only the chosen can use this and they had to keep this safe until the destined one arrives to take it back. The guardian also told me something about time and parallel something."
Elijah took the stone and raised his guard waiting for something to happen, but nothing changed at all, "Are you sure it would something when I hold it?" Suddenly, a dark red portal surged out of nowhere and swallowed him.
...
Earth, 2135.
In a giant flying structure also know as Delta City, one of the third five flying cities constructed around the world as the surface of the planet was inhospitable. Thousands of air-cars flew in the vertical streets heading to their destination. In the center of the city where the tallest building was located, the base of the Blake Foundation. One of the largest corporations in the county and true owner of Delta City.
At this moment, a group of students wearing similar uniforms and black masks that covered half their face were chatting at the entrance of the Westview College, the largest institution in the West Delta district. It was the place where the younger generation of the Elite of Delta City gathered.
Walking towards the entrance was a youth with ordinary facial features and without anything that could separate him from others on the contrary, he even seemed somewhat nervous. Anyone who looked at him would think of him as a youth from an ordinary family, but from his uniform from Westview College, It was clear he had some background.
His name was Leonard Blake, son of Richard Blake, CEO and president of Blake Foundation. Since his birth, he rarely leaves home because of his weak constitution. Having received lecture from the top scholars as a kid, he never frequented any schools. In Westview College will be the first time he would have this chance. So he was really excited.
After so many years, I will finally have my chance! Leonard thought so as he increased his speed towards the college as he neared the College, he did not see a small hole where he tripped and fell to his knee on the ground.
"Ouch!" Leonard felt his feet numb and blood flew from is knee. Hearing sounds of steps, Leonard looked up and saw a young lady, in the same uniform as his.
"Are you okay?" A soft and gentle voice reached his ears as the young lady extends her hand towards him. After a second, he accepted her help and gripped her hand as he stood up.
"Thanks, It seems I was too excited and forgot the ground."
While all of this was happening, not far from there a red portal surged as it shot something and dispersed.
"Shit, why did this happen. I don't even know where I am." Elijah looked around and noticed he was inside an abandoned building, there he noticed a few things scattered on the floor before finding the exit.
"Where am I?" Looking up, he saw a couple huge banners. From the language in the walls and buildings that extended endlessly toward the sky, he guessed this was Midgard. The only question he had in mind why, how Midgard became so advanced when he was there not so long ago, the holograms and these weird people walking beside the humans with strange metal ears and a light dot on their eyes.
Leaving the building, he was scared of the countless flying cars, holographic banners and many other things this planet wasn't supposed to have.
