Chapter 119: VIII: A New Spell, Thunder Impact!
Soon it was time for the tournament to start from the highest platform, where all the board members were, except for Commander Lord.
"First contestants, Kopi and Ricker enter the first arena." At the sould of the voice, fourteen stone arenas rise from the huge arena, each one of them had the could hold at least fifty people and stood 5m above ground. The moment the first contestants leap into the 1st arena, a energy field covered the them.
Two by two, the fights ended and it was soon Elijah's turn.
Above the 14th stone arena, Elijah griped the polaris sword's handle and held a defensive pose. In reality he had his father train him in the sword before, but the results were not what others could expect.
On the other side of the arena, Nesallea seemed excited as she jumped to her side of the arena with her green hair haging in the wind. She wasn't a beautiful girl, but she really exuded a centain natural charm. Especialy her green hair that made him think about Chloe's, Elijah really had to admit he liked the feeling of his hand petting Chloe's hair, though he would never say this out loud.
"I will not hurt a female, only throw her out the arena." Elijah made a promise with himself when Nesallea showed him a sweet smile, he nodded back as he prepared himself.
Three!
Two!
One!
Start!
The moment it started, a portal appeared next to her, from where a tall being emerged. He was over five feet tall, his body was a tree trunk and hefty arms hung at his sides and had a good amount of strength.
A Treant!
Elijah had read about this being in the Compendium Of Thousand Creatures. He never thought this creature could be someone's spirit beast, but this also made him believe that Nesallea was not so strong on close combat.
Elijah carefully watched her from the distance, then moved back as a faint blue light emerged below his feet at the same moment a giant wood stake covered in spikes erupted from where he was a second ago.
His heart grew cold when he saw the 7m wood stake that could have nearly killed him with a single strike.
There was much noise on the stadium, but Elijah could clearly hear cries of disapointment from the people who wished to see him being hit.
Elijah was starting to feel angry. I was nearly killed and you guys are dissapointed?
Nesallea bit her lips, fustrated that she missed the attack. But she quickly recovered and started her second move.
This time, she cut his way out with a wall of wood that only left a straight path to her and Treant on the other side.
Without noticing, he had been surrounded by Nesallea and her spirit.
Then she moved towards Elijah with wooden stakes on each hand at the same moment the Treant came from behind.
Elijah was suprised to hit a dead end in less that one minute and in the first battle. But for some reason this only made him more excited.
"This is all you have little girl? You will need so much more if you think of beat me. Thurisaz!" With a single leap, Elijah raised more than 40m above the arena. Then the four crystals on his bracelet shattered as he cried out. Because of the seal, the boost in power he gain was much lower that the other times but it was not enghout to make him fail.
"Runic and Elemental Combination: Thunder Impact!" The boost of Thurisaz, the energy in the four top-grade Magical crystals and lightning element all gathered in the sole of his feet. This was the strongest lightning spell he envisioned. Of course the strenght of the spell was affected by the seals on him that emerged in his skin.
With a powerful impulse, Elijah shoot himself towards the arena Under the amazed eyes of everyone who forgot about the other battles as they saw a terrific amounts of lightning cover a single person.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A huge lightning meteor cut through space as it hit the middle of the arena. The arena floor cracked as the force of [Thunder Impact] shattered the energy field's defense, the amount of force in that attack was such that it destroyed Nesallea and the pieces of his Treant that died to protect it on the wall.
"Shit! It seems I went a little overboard." Elijah scratched his head when he noticed the mess he caused. Even the ground around the arena had small cracks.
