Speed Is King

Or rather, to give themselves a little bit of privacy.

Dragons were extremely passionate creatures. The thought of having a wild fight turned them on in no small measure. So when Elliot said he needed an hour to recharge his energy, the two dragons had immediately agreed.

And by some unknown signal, they had immediately decided that they would spend the time waiting for Elliot in the most carnal and pleasurable way they knew – mating.

Khellendra kissed him back with undisguised desire and panted lightly as she felt his hands begin to roam around her body.

For a few seconds, they indulged themselves in the strange but wonderful sensation of kissing.

“They won’t harm him, right?” Jessica Sands asked Jul’Taras for the fourth or fifth time that day. “Those Anti-Parasite Task Force members look really evil.”

“They are under strict orders not to meddle with the participants of the game.” Jul’Taras explained to her patiently for the fourth or fifth time as well.

“They have orders, but will they obey them? They know that they are under constant surveillance right? And that the consequences will be dire if they mess with the participants?” Jessica pressed on. Being a master of disobedience herself, she knew that strict orders do not necessarily mean compliance.

“Yes. They will definitely not touch any of the participants. The Gaming Commission still has its pride, you know.” Jul’Taras reminded her. “We are professional and we will definitely not interfere with the game so as not to affect the odds of the bets. Huge amounts of wealth belonging to characters shadier than the shadiest shade are at stake, and we have no wish to incur their wrath.”

“Alright.” Jessica nodded. “Ehm, it’s just that I have so much money riding on him, you know? I don’t want to lose all of my hard earned wealth.”

Jul’Taras merely chuckled in response. She knew the truth, even if the naive and innocent Void Walker didn’t.

Jessica had a crush on Elliot!

“The Shadow Parasites have been really quiet recently, and many are saying that they’ve given up. After all, what’s the purpose of fighting on and expanding if they have no queen to ensure that the fruit of their efforts could be enjoyed by their offspring? So it turns out that they have been hard at work searching for the special substance that could help them evolve a queen. The only question is, did they discover anything on Earth?” Wu Kong glanced at Jul’Taras.

Being the ultimate information center that she was, Wu Kong and Jessica had long considered her as a walking answer machine to all of the questions involving the situation of the Universe.

Jessica sighed deeply and remained silent for a moment.

“Well? Come on Jules, spit it out. You’ve been really quiet since Monkey raised the possibility of Shadow Parasites infesting Earth. You know something right? Tell us! We deserve to know! After all, you wouldn’t be able to warn the rest about it if it wasn’t for us!” Jessica nagged at Jul’Taras.

Ju’Taras gave Jessica a pained and reluctant expression that clearly said, “I need more coercion to make me feel less guilty about telling you!”

Jessica immediately obliged.

“Tell us! Tell us now! If you don’t tell us, I will tell your uncle about your secret stash of-“

“ALRIGHT ALRIGHT! I WILL TELL YOU!” Jul’Taras shouted hastily. She didn’t expect Jessica would immediately go for her jugular!!

“Hee hee.” Jessica giggled cutely.

“Well, to clarify the issue. The Gaming Commission was already alerted to the possibility of Shadow Parasite activity on Planet Earth. A Game Master was suspicious regarding the gathering of so many King level beasts that led to the Battle Royale. Upon digging, he discovered that many beasts were exhibiting unusual behavior after the Reverse Time Walk.

He had submitted his report to the Directors of the Gaming Commission, who had in turn passed the report to the Universe Council. So, the information I submitted merely served to confirm their suspicions. The Universe Council had already acted by then.”

“Universe Council? Isn’t that the highest governing body of the entire Known Universe?” Jessica frowned.

“Indeed. Every single power able to effectively take down and dominate a Star System is represented there. The Beast Clans have several members there. And yes, I agree with Jessica and the implication of her question. Why would such a small event on such a small planet warrant such a drastic action from the Gaming Commission?” Wu Kong continued.

Jul’Taras sighed deeply once more.

“This is critical and classified information, okay? Make sure that you guys don’t tell anybody else about this!”

“Yes, yes, I promise, super duper promise, pinky promise and all sorts of promise that I won’t tell anybody except grandpa, and he’ll probably know everything already anyway..” Jessica quickly agreed. “Quick tell us!”
