Solo Cultivation in The Apocalypse

Chapter 151 Rotten Mind Versus Ryu

Since he won the first round, he was free to head home. The sled was ready for him outside the gates.

No one approached him after his fight. Senso and Mono wanted to but Hitori disappeared before they could catch him. Other students prayed they never had to fight with an angry bull like him, the top students were confused about his appearance.

He did not exist at school but then suddenly, he beats the shit out of Bijutsu Budo, one of the best martial artists in the school, and walk out like nothing ever happened.

The teachers corrected his locket, he was happy but sad that he let someone do that to his locket. No one was supposed to even lay a hand on it. He was supposed to act before anyone could touch the locket.

When he reached home, it was evening and the cold breeze was coming back to the city of Tokyo. Hitori went to the house's backside and lightened the furnace to keep the house warm.

He remembered his commitment made with Kuchiki, he did not care about being late so Hitori took his time to calm himself, think about the fight, and sat idly for a few minutes.

He jumped forward and inserted his card into the magic slot when he thought he was ready. He opened the inbox after the game had loaded.

He texted, "I am logging in, hope you are ready. Will be meeting you in ten minutes."

He sighed and leaned into his chair, he thought she would ditch him, for some reason, he just had that gut feeling. No one listened to him, why would she bother to fight someone?

Still, he logged in and waited for Reon to show up, in the courtyard. Time passed by, she was offline, and her message was unseen. He refrained from texting Kuchiki to come and get him, he left that for Kuchiki to decide. He will come if he was serious, or he will make excuses for not showing up.

The sun outside had already set, it was around six at the time when Reon showed up.

"S-sorry, Hitori-san!" He opened his eyes when he heard a girl apologizing. "I am sorry, I forgot about it!"

He saw Reon running towards him, climbing the hill, and was embarrassed because she was late.

He sighed and shook his head when Reon stood in front of him. "At least you showed up, I thought I might have to deal with this myself."

Reon pulled her chin inwards and pursued her lips. "What are you talking about, Hitori-san?"

"Nothing. Take a seat, Reon-san." She released the tension and sat on her throne.

"How was your fight?"

"Ah... I don't know what happened, though, but I have a slight clue. I was on the verge of losing the fight when my opponent, uh, cast a spell and my locket was turned to stone."

Reon went silent. "Oh..." she nodded.

"What happened or what I did next was all based on my anger, I don't---"

"It-it is fine. I can imagine what would have happened." Reon faked a smile.

Hitori frowned but then let it go.

"W-what is our plan?" she whispered in a weak tone.

"Eh?"

"W-what is your plan, H-Hitori-san?"

"P-plan?" he cracked a smile. "O-of course, a plan..." He didn't have any.

"You don't have any---"

"Blow their heads," he said with a straight face. "If you don't mind-- fuck them up, blow their fucking heads-- we don't have time to deal with them. Kuzu and Onogi are---" Hitori stopped when he noticed Reon's pale face.

She was shaking, he noticed. Is that because of my word choice? He thought. Well, it was not.

"I-I don't mind," she said, "I do not mind. Let us blow their f-fucking heads."

The red alarm went off. I buzzed through their ears. Hitori opened the map and found two men approaching their territory.

"They are here," Hitori said. He glanced at Reon, and she nodded.

They both disappeared from their thrones, leaving the courtyard and appearing in front of the Kori dungeon's entrance.

A smile appeared on Kuchiki's face when they both suddenly appeared in front of him. Yaban grinned and pulled his katana over his shoulder, with one hand on the side of his kimono.

"Still going to keep the shield active?" Kuchiki asked.

Hitori walked to the entrance and walked through it. "What shield?"

Reon followed him. Kuchiki's face turned bitter.

"Let us get this shit over, we don't have time for this." Hitori rubbed his brows as he reached for his wand.

Reon pulled out her gun. Those two stepped away from them, creating a space of five meters.

Yaban drew his katana and Kuchiki unfolded his arms. "Just because you defeated Kuzu, does not mean you should be this arrogant," he muttered to himself as he drew his wand.

Kuchiki glanced at Yaban grinning widely. "Hirohito, we stick to the plan, okay?"

"Hm." Still grinning.

"Don't 'Hm' me, say you understand."

"I understand."

Hitori dropped his head, Reon stood by his side and lifted his wand. "We will start..." he shot a red flare and said, "when the flare fades."

They raised their heads as the flare reached the night sky. It stopped at a height of fifty meters, then it faded.

Reon cocked her gun and opened fire.

Kuchiki waved his wand and created a shield. He could not stop Yaban though, he dashed out of the shield, towards Reon.

"Stick to the plan sometimes!"

She bit her lip and concentrated on Yaban's head. She fired and he threw the bullet with his blade.

Hitori took the chance and released a series of elemental spells at Kuchiki, he slashed his wand and blocked every spell thrown at him.

But when Hitori heard a scream, he lost his focus once again-- during his fight with Fierce-- and took a psychic blast on his chest.

When he looked to his side he saw Reon holding her right hand down, blood flowing non-stop, and a blade in her left hand, the one she acquired from Kuzu.

She could not protect herself with a gun, there was no way she could protect herself with one hand and a blade.

Yaban was advancing at her, striking his katana on her blade, messing with her as she took a step back with every attack.

Kuchiki fired a spell which resulted in a hail of thorns.

Hitori cast the deflecting spell, he slashed his wand and deflected the thorns, a few went past him, and a few stabbed him and turned poisonous.

Hitori was poisoned, he was losing health at the rate of one point per seven seconds since it was not a strong poison.

His eyes fell on Reon again. Yaban was in the air, Reon was standing still, she was paralyzed with a sword technique, I guess, and a katana was making its way towards her neck.

Hitori raised his wand, he had to protect Reon, this was not a time for her sensational sacrifice, heck, it would not even be a sacrifice, it would be suicide, a murder!

Hitori's goal was to kill Yaban, snap Reon out of the paralysis with a potion, then defeat Kuchiki, and end the fight. But, of course, complications exist.

Kuchiki pointed his wand. "Hi-Busou!" Hitori's wand flew out of his.

He could not cast the spell he wanted to but he could still cast an elemental spell.

Hitori raised his hand and Kuchiki realized he can use spells without a wand. His face went pale and he jerked his wand again.

"Icicle spear!" Hitori shouted. He shifted his weight from one side to another. The spear was to push him away from Reon.

That was enough time for Kuchiki to come up with a spell. Hitori got to his knee and chanted, "Chikyu no Mahou!"

Kuchiki paused, his frown disappeared, and he glanced at Yaban. Yes, the ground moved.

Hitori raised his hands, he formed two walls in the mid-air alongside Yaban who was falling down. Hitori closed his fist and pulled his hands down.

The walls contracted and crushed Yaban in between them. Then the walls collapsed.

He ran to Reon and forced a potion down her throat. She opened her eyes and was recovering when Kuchiki shouted, "Drill Peck!"

A corkscrewing attack with a shape nail acting as a drill. It would churn the brains out of anyone.

Hitori grabbed his katana on the left side, he drew his katana and blocked the Drill.

He slid back, he dropped Reon on her head, he grunted as the force tried to drill a hole into his katana.

He felt his knees scraping against the ground, his grip tightening on the handle, and his strength leaving his body. "Oh, crap..."

He could hold no longer, Hitori jerked his katana. He managed to deflect the drill.

Hitori felt no strength in his arms, he leaned forward and touched the ground.

"Ice spikes!" Kuchiki continued.

p Hitori flunked his head, grabbed his sword, and blocked the spikes. It was not good, a spike scraped his shoulder.

Reon crawled to her gun and fired at Kuchiki.

He changed the target, he moved his wand to Reon. "Icicle spear!"

Hitori opened his eyes wide. He remembered his fight in the Pontianak lair's hospital room. Not again, Hitori thought, as he shook his head.

"Not again, Reon-san!"

His foot slipped on the ground as he hurried to Reon. He lifted his hand. "Fireball!"

He released a ball of fire, the spear came closer to Reon, and then they collided.

Reon closed her eyes and Hitori dived in between her and the spear.

Kuchiki lowered his wand to take a look at Hitori. It was not what he was expecting but it was much better than his expectations.

Reon removed her hand and opened her eyes, her mouth dropped open when she saw a spear on Hitori's chest.

She grabbed him and reached him from forward. Reon took the spear and pulled it, he coughed, then she aided him with a potion. "Hitori... san."

Kuchiki started walking toward them. He received a message from Yaban but he ignored it.

Kuchiki thought it was game over when he heard a tiny voice. "Fireball."

Suddenly, from the smoke came a blazing ball of fire.

Kuchiki raised his wand and created an ice wall. The ball could not make it through, but it sure as hell damaged the wall pretty good.

"Earth thorns!" Hitori sent thorns made from earth and Kuchiki blocked them.

He fired a spell. "Icicle spear!"

It went through the smoke but Kuchiki was sure it did not hit anyone. He advanced with short steps.

Hitori raised his hands while standing on his knees, the ground around Kuchiki moved and contrasted.

Two walls turned into four and trapped Kuchiki inside them. To make sure he does not escape, Hitori covered the top with a lid. Packing Kuchiki inside the box.

"Stop it!" Reon shrieked. "Do not use your mana anymore, stop it."

She gave him some tablets.

Hitori fell on his back, she pinned him down and refrained him from using any magic for four minutes.

Although the stab was not healed completely and he was losing health, he had to finish this game he started. He had to fight till the end.

"The plan is simple," Hitori said.

Hitori stood, Reon wanted to support him but she stayed put. He created a small opening at the bottom of the box, then released fire through the hole.

Hitori stepped back and closed the opening. He opened it again and used Freeze-Dry inside the box.

After doing this much, Hitori was sure Kuchiki would not move. But to make sure he is dead, Hitori clapped.

Reon watched as the box depreciated in size. The walls got thinner, it reduced in size till it was the size of a Rubik's cube.

"Tell me his size reduced with the box," Reon said.

Hitori threw her a glance. "Crushed his brain."

He glanced around, then started walking towards Yaban's drops. "He was damaged by katana, I need one."

He picked Yaban katana. It was red in color and the name was: 'Onikiri.'

Hitori's eyes widened. "He possessed a cursed katana?"

He turned to the box, Hitori walked to the box and manipulated it on his way. 'His drops.' Hitori thought.

"Reon-san, get his drops," he said. But when the box opened, it was empty. Reon gasped, Hitori's eyes widened as he glanced around him.

Kuchiki appeared from the dark and pushed his wand's tip against Hitori's neck.

"Unfortunately, I know a few things more about magic than you do, Ryu," he whispered in Hitori's ear, standing behind him.

Kuchiki pushed his wand, and Hitori's head flew in the air. Blood sprung in the air, and fell on Reon and Kuchiki's bodies, Kuchiki used a psychic force to serve Hitori's head.

Then he reached Reon before she could do anything. "Bye, Reon-san."

He sliced her head, too.
