Chapter 164 163: Time Skip
Days passed after Corey's deadly encounter in the strange space that contained the creatures of the void, and during those days, Corey had done quite a few things.
After the queen mother sent him back to his underworld residence, Corey decided to take a day off. He slept, ate, and he decided to read the book of alchemy which was given to him by the Paragon Ancestor.
The next day, Corey decided to continue his practice on the teleportation spell… though with a bit of apprehension.
Assuming the queen mother did not inform him of his error with his teleportation spell, Corey would definitely not try to use the spell again until he was a million percent sure of his success and safety.
Finding himself in an extremely dangerous and sure death environment just because of a spatial ability… was not worth it.
Luckily, when Corey decided to use the teleportation spell after following the queen mother's instruction, he successfully teleported to a nearby location… much to Corey's relief and joy.
Although he had the Tri-Pupil Eyes which gave him a teleportation ability, Corey knew how helpful it would be for him if he knew spatial skills on his own.
Besides… he had to be careful whenever he exposed abilities related to Paragons. One can never tell when an enemy, friend or stranger would recognize that he was part Paragon, which would then lead to annoying and dangerous situations for Corey.
Knowing that his teleportation spell was now safe and fully functional, Corey decided to train more and more on it so as to increase his mastery over the spell, and to also decrease how much mana the spell took from his mana storage.
Corey at first thought that with the teleportation skill, he would have a trump card to use or a way to constantly escape from his future enemies, but…
Reality was definitely not kind to Corey.
The amount of mana the teleportation spell took from his mana storage was so much that Corey could only use it twice… in fact using it twice in a row always put so much strain on Corey's body.
One should not forget that Corey's amount of mana for an early tier 1 being was higher than most. His mana was at the blue star level, just two more levels away from the peak level.
So though, Corey was a tier 1 being, he definitely had more mana than most tier 1 beings.
Also, Corey suspected that if he was not in possession of a Paragon's body, and he had the body of a normal human, he would definitely die or at the very least, be terribly injured from teleporting.
But despite these two side effects that Corey had with the teleportation skill, he also had counters that enabled him to train more on the teleportation spell.
His passive and active mana regeneration was much faster than when he was a tier 0 normal human. Without doing anything, his body passively absorbed mana… not from the atmosphere, but from the poison infinity crystal in his solar plexus.
Corey did not know why, but even when he decided to regenerate his mana actively, his body just instinctively refused to absorb the mana from the environment and the poison infinity crystal in his body would produce more mana for his body from itself.
It was a weird and intriguing ability of the poison infinity crystal that Corey wanted to study, but at the moment, studying the poison infinity crystal which would most likely or… most definitely take a very long time to understand, was not part of Corey's list.
Maybe when he grew stronger and was more knowledgeable, he would try to learn more about the infinity crystals.
Apart from his somewhat 'high' passive and active mana regeneration which to some extent, countered the high mana cost of the teleportation spell, enabling Corey to train more on the skill… Corey had another skill which countered the strain the spell put on his body:
Average Regeneration
Average Regeneration helped Corey to relieve a few of the internal and external injuries that usually occurs to Corey's body whenever he teleported.
With the average regeneration skill always passively healing some of his injuries, Corey could abuse the skill and train on the teleportation spell more than most tier 1 beings could.
Though, after all the training and numerous practices Corey had done with the teleportation spell, Corey could only increase his mastery to peak novice level.
Corey tried to increase his mastery to the intermediate level, but no matter what, he could not increase it… He was stuck in a bottle neck.
Corey was frustrated when he realized that he could not increase his mastery over the teleportation spell, but the Underworld definitely did not care about Corey's frustration.
He had to fight in the Amphitheatre once again.
Corey's fight this time around was just a tad bit easier than his fight against Jian… though… he had to fight a mad arsonist.
His opponent which Corey did not bother to remember his name, dealt with… bombs. His enemy was a mad man who just wanted to cause fire by blowing up a lot of things.
His opponent's class gave him the ability to make different types of bombs, and his talent gave him the ability to cause explosions from his hands.
It was a dangerous fight since his opponent was more of a long ranged type of fighter, than a close ranged type of fighter and the area of effect of the bombs thrown or placed by his opponent, was not taken lightly by Corey at all.
Although his opponent had a fearsome class and talent, he was a mad man who just attacked in a haphazard manner, and after some running, dodging and jumping, Corey eventually killed his opponent due to his… mental instability.
Funny enough, it was not until the day of Corey's battle, which was the previous day, that Justin came back to their room with a satisfied expression on his face.
Although Corey was curious about Justin's previous whereabouts, he was not that overly curious… and as long as Justin had no evil or troublesome intentions towards him, he was allowed to live.
Another thing that Corey did throughout the days that passed was going through the information about drugs in the Underworld and a few other info related to drugs, which was provided to him by Divine…
…Along with some loaned value points from Divine, much to Divine's pain.
And with the information and value points loaned to him by Divine, Corey was going to take his first step in starting his drug business.
